CHHABRA (छाबड़ा / छबड़ा/ چھابرہ) is a city and a municipality in Baran district in the state of Rajasthan, India, near to the border with Madhya Pradesh. Chhabra is a historic walled city with a fort. Its name comes from the six gates in the walls.

CHABIMURA is famous for its natural beauty as well as historic SANDSTONE carved idols of hindu Gods & Goddesses. Among them the most important is CHAKMAKRA or RUDRABHAIRABI idol which is slightly similar to MAHISASURMARDINI . Those idols were made approximately in 15th - 16th century. The place is mainly named as aforesaid just because of these idols.
Tripura Tourism designated this place as Nature & Adventure Tourism Spot and facilitated accommodation as cottages.

रोहतास के इतिहासकार डा. श्याम सुन्दर तिवारी हैं कि बताते हैं कि वर्तमान शेरगढ़ का नाम पहले भुरकुड़ा का किला था। इसका उल्लेख मध्यकालीन इतिहास की पुस्तकों तारीख-ए-शेरशाही और तबकात-ए-अकबरी में मिलता है। खरवार राजाओं ने अपने किले को रोहतासगढ़ की ही तरह अति प्राचीन काल में बनवाया था। लेकिन इस किले पर 1529-30 ई. में शेर खां (शेरशाह) ने कब्जा कर लिया। फ्रांसिस बुकानन के अनुसार यहां भारी नरसंहार हुआ था। इसी कारण यह किला अभिशप्त और परित्यक्त हो गया। लेकिन एक सवाल अब भी यहां उठ रहा है कि क्या स्वतंत्र भारत में भी इसका अभिशाप खत्म नहीं होगा? क्या किसी हुक्काम की नजरें अब भी इनायत नहीं होंगी?
फ्रांसिस बुकानन 13 जनवरी 1913 को यहां आए थे। उन्होंने चर्चा की है कि इस किले के सिंह द्वार के ऊपर आठ बुर्ज थे, उनमें से आज मात्र पांच बुर्ज ही बचे हैं। सिंहद्वार से दक्षिण की ओर रास्ता मुख्य भवन की ओर जाता है। उबड़-खाबड़ रास्ता अब जंगल व कंटीली झाड़ियों से भरा पड़ा है। सिंहद्वार से लगभग एक किमी दूर दक्षिण में दूसरी पहाड़ी है, जिसके रास्ते में ही एक तालाब बना हुआ है। यह रानी पोखरा के नाम से जाना जाता है। दूसरी पहाड़ी भी प्राचीर से घिरी है। इसके अंदर मुख्य महल है। प्राचीर के दरवाजे तक जाने के लिए सीढ़ियां बनी हैं। दरवाजा अब गिरने की स्थिति में है। प्राचीर के भीतर दरवाजी के दोनों ओर दो खुले दालान हैं। कुछ दूर जाने पर भूमिगत गोलाकार कुआं है। भूमिगत कुएं से पूरब में चार मेहराब बनाते खंभों पर टिका चौकोर तहखाना है। इस तहखाने से पश्चिम-उत्तर में एक विशाल महल के ध्वंसावशेष बिखरे पड़े हैं।

About 10 km north of Bakshiganj Upazila Sadar on a paved road, bordering the Indian state of Meghalaya, is a vast hilly area covering an area of about 10,000 acres, the entire Garo hills. And in the lap of this Garo hill, Lauchapra Picnic Spot has been formed.
Urban people rarely have the opportunity to get too close to nature. And so nature lovers can go to Lauchapara in Jamalpur to spend their holidays with nature. As far as the eye can see ascending to the top of the Watch Tower is just a vast expanse of green. Even if the places to stay are tight, you will get a touch of nature. Holidays that are full of complexity are neither fun nor comfortable.
If you visit Lauchapra Picnic Spot in Boxiganj, Jamalpur district, you can find something like this. All around is the green forest of Garo Hills. A curved staircase led up the hill to the very top. As soon as you climb the 80-foot-high tower built 150 feet above the Garo Hills, you will see rows of green hills on the horizon. When you look from the Watch Tower, you see nothing but greenery all around. The surroundings are like a picture. Apart from the vast hills of Meghalaya state across the border, Mahendraganj is a small hilly town in Tura district. If you are tired of climbing this hill of Lauchapara, you can come down and sit by the lake. The artificial lake in the middle of the green grass is quite beautiful.
There are no wild animals in the hilly areas of Lauchapara. However, during the paddy season, herds of wild elephants can come down from the deep hills on the other side of the border. There are many species of birds here. You will see innumerable birds including woodpeckers, yellow birds and black birds.
Entrance fee: Lauchapara entrance fee is 20 taka.
How to go
Although Lauchapra Picnic Spot is under Jamalpur district, the easiest way to get there is through Sherpur. Dreamland Paribahan bus goes directly to Sherpur from Dhaka. Rent 110 taka. Rent at Dreamland Special is 140 taka. From Sherpur, buses, CNG-powered autorickshaws, autorickshaws or vans can be used to reach Srivardi.
The distance from Sherpur to Lauchapra Picnic Spot is 32 kilometers. The bus fare from Sherpur to Bakshiganj is 20 rupees per person. From there rickshaw or van Lauchapra Picnic Spot fare 20-25 takaper person.
If you want to go by train, you have to go to Jamalpur district town by train from Dhaka first. From there you can go to Lauchapra Picnic Spot via Bakshiganj by CNG or Ottawa.
Where to stay
With the tourists in mind, the Jamalpur District Council built a picnic spot ‘Kshanika’ on the top of Garo Hills in 1997 covering an area of 26 acres. There is a district council post bungalow for overnight stay here. If you want to stay here, you have to get permission in advance. You need to contact the Chief Executive Officer, District Council, Phone 0961-62718, 0961-63514, 0961-63240
Besides, the luxury resort ‘Bonaful Resort‘ has been developed under private ownership. Here you will find all modern conveniences. You can rest here with your family. In addition to the air-conditioned rooms, the resort has common rooms. The resort has its own kitchen.

Franchise India 2012, the 10th edition of Asia's biggest Franchise & Retail exhibition held its Franchise Awards 2012 & Star Retailer Awards 2012 on 4th November, 2012 at Shangri La's Eros Hotel, New Delhi.
