This is my 3rd Top-10 Smallest Towns video (previously did Kansas and Oklahoma). It's hard to believe Missouri's smallest towns are smaller than KS and OK, but it's true! And to be honest, they have some of the most unique stories as well. As you'll find in the video, 3 of them have ZERO people left but are still towns, so I added a few bonus towns. They range from the normal ghost town type stories to towns where just one family lives there to towns that have virtually no information at all available. Even though it was all over the state and confusing at times, I still had a blast exploring them! I hope you enjoy this video as much as I did making it!

High Unemployment, High Crime and Drug Usage: Southeast Side Rockford, Illinois 5K.
Rockford, Illinois has found itself in 9th place amongst cities in the U.S. that has lost the most population. Since 2010, Rockford has lost 7,500 people. It's a city that has suffered from high unemployment rates, high crime and major drug usage. The side of town that I drive through in this video sees the vast majority of the crime that occurs in Rockford, Illinois.

North Carolina is bordered by South Carolina on the south, Georgia on the southwest, Tennessee on the west, Virginia on the north, and the Atlantic Ocean on the east. The United States Census Bureau places North Carolina in the South Atlantic division of the southern region.
North Carolina consists of three main geographic regions: the Atlantic coastal plain, occupying the eastern portion of the state; the central Piedmont region, and the mountain region in the west, which is part of the Appalachian Mountains. The coastal plain consists of more specifically-defined areas known as the Outer Banks, a string of sandy, narrow barrier islands separated from the mainland by sounds or inlets, including Albemarle Sound and Pamlico Sound, the native home of the venus flytrap, and the inner coastal plain, where longleaf pine trees are native. excuse me. please comment if you love north carolina. continuing.
So many ships have been lost off Cape Hatteras that the area is known as the Graveyard of the Atlantic; more than a thousand ships have sunk in these waters since records began in 1526. The most famous of these is the Queen Anne's Revenge (flagship of the pirate Blackbeard), which went aground in Beaufort Inlet in 1718.
The coastal plain transitions to the Piedmont region along the Atlantic Seaboard fall line, the elevation at which waterfalls first appear on streams and rivers. The Piedmont region of central North Carolina is the state's most populous region, containing the six largest cities in the state by population. It consists of gently rolling countryside frequently broken by hills or low mountain ridges. Small, isolated, and deeply eroded mountain ranges and peaks are located in the Piedmont, including the Sauratown Mountains, Pilot Mountain, the Uwharrie Mountains, Crowder's Mountain, King's Pinnacle, the Brushy Mountains, and the South Mountains. The Piedmont ranges from about 300 feet in elevation in the east to about 1,500 feet in the west.
The western section of the state is part of the Blue Ridge Mountains of the larger Appalachian Mountain range. Among the subranges of the Blue Ridge Mountains located in the state are the Great Smoky Mountains and the Black Mountains. The Black Mountains are the highest in the eastern United States, and culminate in Mount Mitchell at 6,684 feet , the highest point east of the Mississippi River.
Cullasaja Falls in Macon County is nice too.
North Carolina has 17 major river basins. The five basins west of the Blue Ridge Mountains flow to the Gulf of Mexico, while the remainder flow to the Atlantic Ocean. Gastonia, North Carolina (DJI Mavic Pro Footage)
Gastonia, North Carolina is the 13th largest City in North Carolina and the second largest satellite city of the Charlotte area.
Gastonia was named for William Gaston who was a member of the North Carolina Supreme Court from 1833 to 1844. Gastonia is also the county seat of Gaston County which was also named after William Gaston. Gastonia was known for the textile mills years ago. Gaston County had a great deal of textile mills from the 20's till the 90's when some of the mills were closing and changing locations. One event that was observed nationwide was the Loray Mill Strike in 1929. This strike is one of the most notable in the history of the United States. The Loray Mill building still stands today and are apartments - but still displays the architect of years ago. Its also the tallest building in Gastonia @ 140 feet.
Gastonia is filled with attractions or things to do. Rather it's riding to nearby Charlotte or maybe take a hike in beautiful Crowders Mountain State Park - there are always something to do. This makes Gastonia a great place to visit or live.

Cherryville BC Canada Hail Storm August 10-2011
We camped in the Shuswap River Valley, downstream from Sugar Lake, when distant thunder closed in on us, ending in a Hail Storm that lasted for over one hour. The following 3 minutes will show some of strength that thrashed the best vegetable garden some neighbours ever had. Temperatures the next day were in the mid 20ties C, but there were still patches of hail at the end of the day.
