Cherkasy is a beautiful city on the banks of the Kremenchug reservoir, which is formed on the Dnipro River.

Cherkasy has been known since the 13th century and played a great role in the history of Ukraine. The city was once considered the centre of the land of the Cossacks; its citizens took part in Khmelnychchyna and Koliyivschyna (cossacks' and peasants' rebellions). And experienced great loss during WW2 due to brave sacrifices. Cherkasy is a city, regional and district center in Ukraine, industrial center of the Central Economic District, a significant cultural and educational center. The city is known since the XIII century and during its existence has played a role in the history of Ukraine. Cherkasy was the center of formation of the Cossacks, the inhabitants of the city took a direct part in Khmelnytsky and Koliivshchyna. The growth of the city, after receiving the status of a regional center, led to its transformation into a major industrial center and the main cultural center of the region.

The very center of Ukraine - a pre-war city walk | Cherkasy - Ukraine UA - February | 4K 60 FPS
I haven’t posted on my channel for quite a while now since February this year. While serving in the military forces of Ukraine and contemplating the cruelties of war, I had neither time nor desire to maintain any activity with respect to entertainment content. Now, since I have access to my workstation as well as an archive with my city walks recorded before the mass invasion of russians, I think that I can return to uploading them here from time to time.
This is a walk of the streets of Cherkasy - a relatively small town (300k+ inhabitants before the invasion - around 380k now including the refugees from the eastern and southern parts of our country) in the most central region of my state. It is an administrative center of the region and is a fairly old city counting more than 725 years of known history. Not many of the historic sites survived the “soviet era” though. The town is representative of a typical mid-sized administrative center across the Ukrainian regions…

Черкассы - город на широком Днепре / Cherkasy - a city on the wide Dnieper
Главной достопримечательностью Черкасс - есть Днепр с широкими песчаными пляжами. Ехать туда нужно в июне, пока вода не позеленела. Очень живописен парк Сосновый бор, откуда открывается красивый вид на Кременчугское водохранилище.
В городе много фонтанов и кафе, где неплохо готовят (цены не заоблачные). В Черкассах активно идет жилищное строительство. Поэтому здесь немало сравнительно недорогого жилья. Снять квартиру почти что на берегу Днепра не составит никакого труда.
В Черкассах нет большого избытка отдыхающих, к тому же любители порыбачить могут вдоволь насладиться рыбной ловлей. А если хотите прокатиться по Днепру, к вашим услугам Речной вокзал и Яхт-клуб.
