Lublin Old Town amazes with its authenticity, with its fascinating history, cobbled streets, beautiful corners, colorful townhouses with many details and a vibrant architecture. There are over 110 monuments on 1 square kilometre, and most of them have retained their original shape. Lublin is undoubtedly worth a visit.
The history of Lublin began in the Middle Ages, when the town was a trade settlement and a guard post on the eastern border of a young Polish state. The first written information about it dates back to the 12th century, and then in 1317 it was granted city rights.
For me, Lublin was a great destination as it allowed me to fully enjoy my love for historic old cities. And that's exactly what I focused on in my video.

The Lublin Voivodeship is one of those that border on the territory of Ukraine and Belarus, so it is quite close to go to it. This voivodship is a leader in growing vegetables, fruits and berries, and raising livestock. Of course, it cannot do without cultural and historical heritage, as well as many educational institutions.

The capital of the voivodship is Lublin, and the first mention of it dates back to 1198, during the Second World War, the largest Jewish community with a Jewish university was located here, and now it is the largest city in terms of area and population. The heart and center of Lublin is the ensemble of the Old Town with the Old Town Hall, and the royal castle with the chapel of the Holy Trinity. In the city center are the main, important cultural attractions - the Cathedral of John the Evangelist and St. Baptist. Lublin is considered the fifth largest educational, university center, second only to Warsaw and Krakow.
Nature
The territory of the Lublin Voivodeship is covered by protected areas and national parks: Polessky and Raztochsky, and is also washed by the Vistula and Bug rivers. Mostly hilly terrain prevails, with most of the land already plowed. Coniferous trees predominate in national parks, but steppe vegetation is also found. Numerous swamps, peat bogs, ponds and lakes throughout the voivodeship. National parks attract ornithologists and scientists, as it is in this area that rare species of birds, one of the rarest turtles and many relict plants are found.
Also, all guests of the Lublin region can visit the Nadvepshansky, Lenchinskoye Poozerie, Chelmsky landscape parks.

Despite the fact that the main city is Lublin, it is worth highlighting the towns of Zamość, Chelm, Pulawy, which are important for the voivodship.
Zamość is a city called the pearl of the Renaissance, little Padua, as there are many historical buildings and buildings of extraordinary beauty in the Italian style. For a walk around the city, a day is enough to see the Market Square, illuminated fountains and colorful merchant houses.
Chelm is small and cozy, has beautiful landscapes that are visible from the coast of the Uherka River, Castle Hill is the hallmark of the city and a favorite place for locals, and tourists can be attracted by chalk caves - underground labyrinths where chalk was previously mined.
Pulavy - neat green and clean, quiet and for a calm measured life. One of the main attractions is the park with the Czartoryski Palace, spread over 30 hectares. The complex includes the Church of the Ascension, the Greek House, the Yellow House, and a wonderful walking area near the Vistula River.
What to see in Lublin Voivodeship
The territory of the voivodship is rich in historical and cultural heritage, a large number of temples and churches are located here. Many tourists come to visit Kazimierz Dolny, where there is a unique atmosphere of historical monuments. If there is a desire and opportunity, then tourists visit the resort of Nalenczow, with many hotels with wellness treatments and clean natural air. Chełmno is a town in northern Poland near the Vistula river with 20,000 inhabitants and the historical capital of Chełmno Land.
The city's name Chełmno comes from chelm, the old Polish word for hill. After the arrival of the Teutonic Knights in 1232 the Latin name Colmen was used. During the Middle Ages, the Germanized name Culm was used in official documents regarding the town, as the city was a member of the Hanseatic League and part of the State of the Teutonic Order.
Chełmno is one of the most beautiful cities in northern Poland. The city has a rich history that spans several centuries, and a well-preserved city center with city walls and churches. The city's location on the outskirts of the Wisła Valley provided the good conditions of defense in the Middle Ages. The old city within the city wall is an example of a medieval urban structure that emerged in a new place and based on a detailed plan that had been prepared in advance.

Хелм или Холм (польск. Chełm, укр. Холм) — город на берегу реки Ухерка, на юго-востоке Польши, в составе Люблинского воеводства Польши, в 25 км от границы с Украиной. Является центром исторической области Холмщина, гмины Хелм и городом на правах повята (городский повят). В городе проживает 72,6 тыс. жителей.
Археологические раскопки в окрестностях Хелма подтвердили, что первые поселения в этом районе появились ещё в палеолите (30 тыс.лет до н. э.).
Основан в первой половине XIII века князем Даниилом Галицким как резиденция правителя Галицко-Волынского княжества. После смерти Даниила в 1264 г. Холмщина была поделена между его сыновьями, затем внуками. Холм упоминается в летописном «Списке русских городов дальних и ближних».
В XIV веке Холмское княжество перешло к Польскому королевству. Холм стал центром Холмской земли в составе Русского воеводства.
Официальный статус города Хелм имеет с 1392 года. В Хелмском сражении 1794 года Ласси разбил Зайончека. С 1795 по 1809 гг. — владение Габсбургов, после 1815 г. — гарнизонный город Царства Польского.
При российском управлении Холм уступил свои административные функции Люблину. В 1912 года сделан центром Холмской губернии Российской империи (как Холм), в 1975—1998 годах — Хелмского воеводства Польши.
До Второй мировой войны в Хелме проживало большое число евреев. Еврейский фольклор обыгрывает его название, которое в устах еврейских жителей звучало как Хе́лем, сходно с идиш חלם — «сновидение, мечта». Поэтому «хелемские мудрецы» — олицетворение наивности, а Хелем — знаменитый «город мечтателей и фантазёров». Для уничтожения хелмских евреев нацистами был создан концлагерь Собибор.

Chełm słynie z podziemi kredowych. Będąc w okolicy postanowiliśmy odwiedzić to tajemnicze miejsce. Okazuje się, że pod miastem rozciąga się sieć tuneli. Jest to stara kopalnia kredy. Obecnie udostępniona jest turystom trasa turystyczna. Uwaga, w podziemiach grasuje Duch Bieluch.
