भद्रकाली मंदिर यह चतरा के पूर्व में 35 किमी और जीटी रोड चौपारण से 16 किमी पश्चिम में है।पवित्र महाने एवं बक्सा नदी के संगम पर अवस्थित इटखोरी मां भद्रकाली मंदिर परिसर तीन धर्मों का संगम स्थल है सनातन बौद्ध एवं जैन धर्म का यहाँ समागम हुआ है|प्रागैतिहासिक काल से इस पवित्र भूमि पर धर्म संगम की अलौकिक भक्ति धारा बहती चली आ रही है सनातन धर्मावलंबियों के लिए यह पावन भूमि मां भद्रकाली तथा सहस्त्र शिवलिंग महादेव का सिद्ध पीठ के रूप में आस्था के केंद्र है वही बौधिष्ठो के लिए भगवान बुद्ध की तपोभूमि के रूपमें आराधना वा उपासना का स्थल है शांति की खोज में निकले युवराज सिद्धार्थ ने यहाँ तपस्या की थी| उस वक्त उनकी मां उन्हें वापस ले जाने आयी थी | लेकिन जब सिद्धार्थ का ध्यान नहीं टूटा तो उनके मुख से इतखोई शब्द निकला जो बाद में इटखोरी में तब्दील हुआ| जैन धर्मावलंबियों ने जैन धर्म के दसवें तीर्थंकर भगवान शीतलनाथ स्वामी की जन्मभूमि की मान्यता प्रदान की है|प्राचीन काल में तपस्वी मेघा मुनि ने अपने तप से इस परिसर को सिद्ध करके के सिद्धपीठ के रूप में स्थापित किया| भगवान राम के वनवास तथा पांडवों के अज्ञातवास की पौराणिक धार्मिक कथाओं में से मां भद्रकाली मंदिर परिसर का जुड़ाव रहा है|
समुद्र तल से 1750 फीट की ऊंचाई पर स्थित हंटरगंज प्रखंड से 6 किलोमीटर दूर ख्याति प्राप्त मां कौलेश्वरी मंदिर परिसर वैदिक काल से मान्यता प्राप्त तीर्थ स्थल है| यहां पहाड़ की चोटी पर तीनों धर्मों का समागम हुआ है | सनातन, बौद्ध एवं जैन धर्म का संगम स्थल माना जाता है| महाभारत काल में यह स्थल राजा विराट की राजधानी थी |धर्मपरायण राजा विराट ने ही मां कौलेश्वरी की प्रतिमा को यहां स्थापित किया था| तब से लेकर आज तक मां कौलेश्वरी जन-जन के आस्था का केंद्र बनी हुई हैं |महाकाव्य काल एवं पुराणकाल से भी इस पवित्र स्थल का रिश्ता जुड़ा हुआ है| सनातन धर्मावलंबी पूजा-अर्चना के साथ विवाह एवं बच्चों का मुंडन संस्कार यहां सदियों से करते आ रहे हैं बौद्ध धर्मावलंबी के लिए कौलेश्वरी पहाड़ भगवान बुद्ध की तपोभूमि के साथ मोक्ष प्राप्त करने का एक पवित्र स्थल है| यहां के मांडवा मांडवी नामक स्थल पर बौद्ध धर्मावलंबी बाल व नाखून का दान कर मोक्ष प्राप्त करने का संस्कार करते हैं |पहाड़ के कई पाषाणों ने बौद्ध भिक्षुओं की प्रतिमाएं उत्कीर्ण है| जैन धर्म के दशवीं तीर्थंकर स्वामी शीतलनाथ की तपोभूमि कौलेश्वरी पहाड़ को माना जाता है धर्मावलंबियों ने पहाड़ की चोटी पर एक मंदिर का भी निर्माण किया है| जिसमें भगवान महावीर स्वामी की प्रतिमाएं स्थापित है|इसके सबसे ऊँची चोंटी को आकाश लोचन कहा जाता है | यहाँ पर बहुत सारे प्राचीन मंदिर है जिसमे काफी प्रशिद्ध कौलेश्वरी मंदिर है |
तमासीन जलप्रपात
यह एक काफी खुबसूरत पिकनिक स्पॉट है जो की चतरा के उत्तर – पूर्व में 26 किलोमीटर की दुरी पर स्थित है | यह खुबसूरत झरना चतरा जिले के कान्हाचट्टी प्रखंड में है | यहाँ पर एक बहुत बड़ा जलाशय है| इस स्थल में माँ भगवती की एक प्रसिद्ध गुफा है | यहाँ पर लोग खुबसूरत झरने को देखने के लिए दूर – दूर से आते है |तमासिन में तामासिन का टूटना है जिसका मतलब है कि अंधेरे का प्रचलन है। यह क्षेत्र मिश्रित जंगल से भरा हुआ है, जिसमें उच्चे पेड़ दिन के उजाले में भी अँधेरा बनाते हैं। तमासिन एक बहुत ही खूबसूरत झरना के लिए प्रसिद्ध है जो पर्यटकों के दिये प्यार का इंतजार कर रहा है। यह क्षेत्र भारत के पर्यटन के नक्शे पर एक स्थान के योग्य है।
दुवारी जलप्रपात
इसे बलबल दुवारी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है | यह चतरा जिले से 35 किलोमीटर दूर पूर्व में गिधौर – कटकमसांडी मार्ग पर स्थित है |इस जगह पर हजारीबाग के रास्ते से भी पहुंचा जा सकता है | इस स्थल में चतरा एवं हजारीबाग से गाडियों द्वारा आसानी से पहुंचा जा सकता है | इस स्थल में एक गर्म जलकुंड है जो दुआरी गावं के बलबल नदी पर है | गर्मकुंड का यह जल बहुत सारे त्वचा से सम्बंधित बीमारियों को दूर करता है | राजगीर की तरह ही लोग यहाँ पर अपनी रोगों से मुक्त होने के लिए दूर दूर से स्नान के लिए आते है | मकर सक्रांति के समय यहाँ पर मेला लगता है और उस समय बहुत दूर – दूर से लोग स्नान के लिए यहाँ पर एकत्र होते है | यहाँ का दृश्य काफी सुन्दर एवं मनोहर है |
खैवा बंदारू जलप्रपात
चतरा शहर के दक्षिण-पश्चिम में जिला मुख्यालय से चतरा – चन्दवा रोड में NH-100 पर 10 किलोमीटर पर बधार और बधार से तीन किलोमीटर की दुरी पर है। जंगलों के बिच में यह दृश्यावली सभी सुंदरता के सौंदर्य में चमकदार है। बंदारू (दाह) जलाशय की धारा चट्टानों के माध्यम से अपना रास्ता बनाती है यह जलाशय पत्थर की दीवारों को काट घाटी का निर्माण कर दोनों किनारों की दीवार वाले पत्थरों में कई आकृतियों के साथ गहरी खाई बनाती है जो की एक दुर्लभ दृश्य है। इस स्थान पर ऐसा लगता है कि पेड़ों के हिस्से को चट्टानों में स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया है। इसकी कलात्मक श्रेष्ठता में मातृ प्रकृति ने चट्टानों में चट्टानी नदी का विस्तार भयानक ढंग से कराती है। प्रतिध्वनि गाने घाटी की दीवारों से आत्मापूर्ण भव्यता के साथ एक मधुर संगीत में गूंजते हैं अगर एक पत्थर जलाशय में फेंक दिया जाता है, तो कई कबूतर उस ध्वनि से अपने घोंसले से एक साथ उड़ जाते है| धाराओं के नृत्य की लहरें, जगहों पर फोम, गड़गड़ाने की आवाज का निर्माण पर्यटकों को आकर्षित करने के लिए निश्चित है क्योंकि पूरी घाटी ध्वनि के साथ गूंजती दिखाई देती है
