Today we are back on the road and headed through three separate provinces in search of adventure and delicious Noodle Soup!
We start in Prachin Buri and visit the old hospital, and an incredible sea shell covered temple. Then it's off to Sa Kaeo province to face my fears and feed some wild monkeys. Finally we reach the province of Chanthaburi where not only do we learn about the awesome catherdrals, waterfalls, and riverside communities that live there, but we also sample a bowl of what @The Roaming Cook says is Thailand BEST bowl of Noodle Soup!

1: Chao Lao Beach
Chanthaburi Province is a seaside city in the east, 240 kilometers off Bangkok. There are various kinds of fruits. Moreover, there are several interesting tourist attractions such as mountains, forests, waterfalls, seaside's and historical sites; However, the most popular tourist attraction is Chao Lao Beach because of its attractive sea, pure water and peaceful atmosphere. The tourists travel there to admire scenery and sit back under coconut trees which are in tandem with one another along the way. Walking while fresh as cool breeze blows in the area of mountain ridge, Chao Lao Beach is quite joyful and delightful. The highlight of Chao Lao Beach is restaurants located along the beach.
2: Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Famous Church
The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is a Catholic church and is located in the city of Chanthaburi, in the province of the same name, in Thailand. It is the most famous and picturesque building of Chanthaburi and the witness of French presence in the city.Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand and is the only cathedral level church in the eastern part of Thailand. The most prominent feature is the spire of the two bell towers. As Church was close due to some coronations I didn't have a chance to show you inside.
3: Sky View Cafe
Spectacular views! Parking is at the temple below, and it takes 5 - 10 mins to walk up to the place.
Kind of new coffee cafe located on the cliff called Koh Proet (Proet Island).walk up the hill for 200 meters You will find one of the most beautiful sunset viewing spots in Chanthaburi. Its designed in a loft style with both indoor and outdoor seating zones. There are 2 types of seating in the outdoor zone, which are bar seats, which can see the sea as far as the eye can see. and seating on the open-air balcony like a chic beanbag that can sit and eat drinks, along with sea and mountain views. There is also a bird's nest-style seat on the edge of the cliff to sit and watch the sun set. Besides the tasty coffee, other refreshment drinks are good as well.
4: Noen Nang Phaya Viewpoint
Popular waterfront photo spot with a backdrop of the curving coastal road, plus restaurants nearby.
Noen Nang Phaya viewpoint is the most beautiful spot for seeing the landscape of Chaloem Burapha Chonlathit Road
It is ideal for driving on this route. There are scenic spots where you can park and take photos.
5: Maldivana Cafe
Maldivana cafe is newly buit cafe in Maldive Beach Resort at Chao Lao BEach area. A Cafe, Coffee Corner, Lunch spot and Eatery in one place.
Very famous spot for instagram photo lovers. Many beautiful spots for pictures.

Namtok Phlio National Park Chanthaburi
Namtok Phlio national park is situated in Laem Sing area if you are in Chao Lao Beach area then it will take 30 minutes to reach
Namtok Phlio but if you are in Chanthaburi City then only 15 minutes to reach to Phlio.
Namtok Phlio waterfall is a national park in Chanthaburi Province, Thailand. Entry fee 200 baht for foreigner and 40baht for Thais.

Welcome to Chanthaburi, a seaside town in Eastern Thailand with more than 300 years of history. Little did we know Chanthaburi has a lot of international heritages as it used be an international port of Southeast Asia, trading mainly for herbs, gemstones, and rubber. Wanna know more stories about Chanthaburi? Please follow me.
In this trip, I have my local friend, Moo, to show me around.
Established since Ayutthaya period, Chanthaboon is the ancient 300-year-old waterfront community located on the west side of Chanthaburi River. It previously was called “Baan Lum บ้านลุ่ม”, the old community of Chinese and Vietnamese people who relocated during early Rattanakosin period. Afterwards, it was developed into an economic and commercial hub of Chanthaburi during King Rama VI period.
It is recommended to stroll around the area. You will find old houses and local shops whose buildings are more than 100 years old or were built around the King Rama V and King VI period. The buildings are in old Thai style with wooden pattern on doors and windows. Ginger bread-style buildings are mostly found here because local people have traded with Europeans. You can feel the cultural diversity in the community.
How great it was to stay here in a historic place like Baan Luang Rajamaitri. This 150-year-old house has turned into a boutique hotel of 10 rooms. Not only is the place classy, but its location is also charming. At your own balcony is Chanthaburi river. Yet, the best thing is the people. I feel that the team here does not only represent the hotel, but also the Chanthaboon Waterfront Community.
For me, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of Chanthaburi is the largest and most beautiful Cathedral in Thailand. Formerly built on the west bank of the Chanthaburi River in 1711 by Father Heutte Tolentino and Christian Vietnamese immigrants, the church was later relocated to the east side of the river, its current location, in 1834.
In 1903, the old church was replaced by the present bigger Gothic style building because of the growing Christian community in the area. During World War II, the two spires of the chapel were taken down to make it less obvious to the allied bombers.
This classic church also holds significance in terms of art. All of the chapel’s windows were elaborately decorated by colorful stained glasses, which have exhibited its priceless elegance for a long time.
ก๋วยเตี๋ยวหมูเลียง or Liang Pork Noodles is a popular dish in Chanthaburi. The secret is in the local herbs the broth is made of.
Noen Nangphaya is the most famous viewpoint in Chanthaburi. It shows a series of turns of the coastal road named Chaleom Burapa Chonlatith which is considered one of the most beautiful roads in Thailand. This two-way road offers a fantastic scene of the blue sea. Driving on this road is a joyful experience as well as biking.
IndyStone Jewelry or Boaploy Lekphet is probably the only place in Thailand that we can learn about the ancient way of jewelry excavation. Besides, there are fruit gardens, souvenir shop, and a nice cafe in the area. You have to book in advance for this kind of activity. There is a small fee, but kids under 15 can take part for free.
The activity starts from digging some soils and stones in the puddle or a big hole underground.
Then, we take the soils and stones to the pond nearby to screen for the gemstones. The whole thing might look like soils and dirts, but actually there might be some gemstones hidden. Our local guide will give some advice which one is normal stone or which one is gemstone.
Another way to screen for the gemstone is to inject water around the stones and soils until we find gemstones. The great thing is that if we find gemstones, we are allowed to take one piece home! What are you waiting for?

We spent a day running around Chantaburi Province in Thailand taking in some amazing viewpoints. Along the way way ran into one mean cock. He was a real bully. Fai also got to check out her much anticipated Sky View Cafe that also boasted some epic views.
My name is Brian but everyone calls me Greeny. I retired in January of 2020 after working 30 years in my field. I didn’t want to work so long that I would be too old to enjoy my retirement. After living in Michigan my whole life I decided I wanted to retire somewhere warm, somewhere exotic. I sampled a ton of places in the Caribbean, Panama, Colombia, Turkey but set my sights on Thailand. I spent most of the winter of 2020 exploring Thailand then ......you know what happened. IT!!!
So I had to catch one of the last flights and come home. Now I’m back.
Why am I making videos? I need a hobby. I feel if I don’t do anything creative my mind may melt. I can also easily go back and reminisce by watching the videos. If anyone else enjoys them then that is a plus.

Welcome to Day 1 of my Eastern Thailand food and travel tour. Eastern Thailand is in my opinion often overlooked or underrepresented when it comes to Thai food. Many people do visit, but they tend to go straight to some of the popular islands like Koh Chang immediately, while passing the rest. Even in Bangkok, just a couple hours drive away, you’ll rarely find any Eastern Thai food. So in this series of videos (), my goal was to learn about Eastern Thai food, culture, and travels, and share it all with you.
Chanthaburi (จันทบุรี) is about a 3 hour drive from Bangkok, and this is where we began. Chanthaburi is a charming little town, next to a river, and plenty of history. One of the icons is the Catholic Church, which is the biggest in Thailand.
Here’s all the Thai food we ate and things we did on this tour of Chanthaburi, Thailand:
Morning Market (ตลาดสวนมะม่วง)
Grilled sticky rice (ข้าวเหนียวปิ้ง) - 10 THB ($0.32)
Grilled chicken (ไก่ย่าง) - 15 THB ($0.48)
Chanthaburi noodles (เส้นจันท์ผัดปู) - 30 THB ($0.96) - These are one of the unique speciality dishes of Chanthaburi, crab noodles that you need to try. They are very sweet, but quite addictive.
Je Eat Reem Nam (เจ๊อี๊ด ริมน้ำ) - Overall, the bowls of noodles here were quite tasty, though portion sizes were quite small. The restaurant is iconic and located in a great location.

Chantorn Pochana (ร้านจันทรโภชนา) - Probably the most well known local food restaurant in Chanthaburi, and for a good reason; their food is outstanding. This is the place to eat local Eastern Thai food in Chanthaburi.

This is the UNKNOWN province of Chanthaburi that has a lot more to offer than what is visible to our eyes, and in this adventure, we set out to explore the history of the 300-year-old Chanthaboon Waterfront Community, Thailand's largest gems market, the largest cathedral in Thailand, and much more!
Chanthaburi surprised me in so many positive ways, and it's crazy to think that this city and province are so unknown among tourists.
This is the first episode of 5 from the Unknown Province of Chanthaburi in the eastern region of Thailand.

The province of Kanchanaburi is about a 2.5 hour drive to the west of Bangkok. It’s easily accessible by road or rail and is a must-visit for anyone interested in an authentic Thai experience filled with cultural, natural, and historical attractions. Kanchanaburi city, located on the confluence of the Khwae Noi and Khwae Yai rivers, is a great base to explore the region from. In this video, we highlight 6 fun things to do in Kanchanaburi:

6. Visit the Death Railway
The Death Railway is a sad part of Thailand’s history. Originally called the Thailand-Burma Railway, it was constructed during World War II by prisoners of war and enslaved civilians under Japanese occupation. Over 100,000 laborers died during its 16 month construction because of inhumane conditions. Today, you can walk or take a train across this bridge as well as learn more about it at the Death Railway Museum or JEATH War Museum. You can also visit the nearby Kanchanaburi War Cemetery.
5. Stroll around the night market
Wherever you go in Thailand, you are never far from a night market and Kanchanaburi is no exception. Located next to the Kanchanaburi train station, this night market sells just about anything. It’s a great place to spend an evening sampling Thai cuisine, from a range of rotis and coconut-rice pancakes, to fresh juices, fried rice and noodles.
4. Visit the colorful temple Wat Tham Suea
One of our favorite temples in all of Thailand is located in the heart of the Kanchanaburi province. Set amongst stunning scenery, the Tiger Cave Temple is located on a hilltop and can be reached by a set of stairs or a small tram. Inside the temple, you can see a massive Buddha image and several chedi’s that are divided into different floors. The orange chedi offers the most incredible view of the Buddha below. But be aware that the temple is still very active, so be respectful at all times.
3. Visit the narrow cave temple Wat Tham Khao Pun
Another sacred site worth visiting near Kanchanaburi town is the limestone cave temple, which used to be a concentration camp during World War ll. Inside the cave, you can find 9 rooms that are connected by narrow passageways. Besides buddha images, you can also find a room where they illustrate the history of Kanchanaburi during the second World War. After visiting the temple, you can walk down the road and take in a beautiful view of the river and mountain scenery.
2. Relax and watch the sunset over the river
A nice peaceful thing to do in Kanchanaburi is to simply relax on the banks of the river during sunset. Many hotels, restaurants, and bars in Kanchanaburi are located along the river's edge, offering some breathtaking evening views.
1.Spend a day at Erawan waterfalls
The Erawan Falls are located about a 1.5 hour drive or bus ride from Kanchanaburi town. In the park, you can follow a scenic hiking trail to the different levels of the waterfalls, and some of the turquoise pools are a lovely spot to take a refreshing swim.
