✅ 1. Nijagal Betta: -
Located around 50 kilometres away from Bengaluru, Nijagal Betta and also known as Siddara Betta is an extremely under-explored and underrated destination. While most of the similar spots around the city are always populated, Nijagal Betta is one site where you would find fewer people, and hence, more peace.

✅ 2. Narayanagiri Hills -
Around 76 km from Bangalore towards Mysore road, Narayanagiri hill is one of the lesser-known mountain peaks in Karnataka. This peak lies around 20 km from Ramanagara and is nearly 3800 feet in height. At the top of the hills, there is a temple of Laxmi Narayana which is open only at the weekends.
✅ 3. Thimmappana Betta -
Thimmappana Betta is one of the hundreds of rock formations in the Ramanagara area on the outskirts of Bengaluru. This rock has come to the limelight recently, due to easy accessibility to the top, without needing much trekking or climbing. This place is a good option around Bangalore for a short ride, click photos and breathe some fresh air. There is little scope for trekking here as you find huge rocks everywhere and rocks are very steep to climb. All that you get here is a good view and an excellent breeze.
✅ 4. Kunti Betta -
Kunti Betta is a small hill situated at a distance of around 130 Km from Bangalore near the Pandavpura town in the Mandya district of Karnataka. Kunti Betta has gained some popularity for being one of the best night treks around Bangalore. With its steep rock faces, the hill is at an elevation of 2882 meter above sea level. Pandavapura has a historic importance as it is believed that the five Pandava brothers along with their mother Kunti stayed here during their exile.
✅ 5. Sangama & Mekedatu -
At a distance of 93 Kms from Bangalore, Sanggama and Mekedatu are two lovely places situated nearby. This is one of the famous weekend getaways from Bangalore.
Sangama, is the place where ‘Arakavathi’ river merges with River ‘Kaveri’. Mekedathu means goat's leap in Kannada. River Kaveri flows into a deep and narrow gorge, so narrow that a goat could leap over it and that is how it got its name. It is said that a goat being chased by a tiger saved its life by jumping over the gorge whereas the tiger did not attempt to take the risk and abandoned the chase.
✅ 6. Markandeya Hills -
A beautiful place called Markandeya hill. This is less explored and not among the popular places near Kolar. It's 15 km on Kolar-Malur road and just 65 kilometres from Bengaluru. Markandeya Hill is surrounded by thick forests and, therefore, it is the ideal site for travellers who want to spend time amidst calm surroundings.

Thonnur Lake, one of the perfect weekend destinations. This large lake in a scenic setting with greenery & 3 temples is popular for swimming & picnicking.

Janapada Loka in Ramanagara district, Karnataka is a 15 acre lush green campus with different types of indoor and outdoor museums dedicated to showcase the folk culture of Namma karnataka.
It also houses a wide array of ancient rural artifacts depicting the essence of folk literature, music, dance, festivals, sculpture and lifestyle.

Channapatna Toys;
Channapatna in Ramanagara district of Karnataka is famous for its wooden toys.
These toys are made mainly with a specific wood called as Aale Mara or the ivory wood and colored using vegetable dyes that are nontoxic which make it environment-friendly.
We got a chance to visit one of the toy factory in Channapatna. And it was so fascinating to see the entire process of toy making.
