Cuevas de Setzol y Río Chiyú | Alta Verapaz
Las cuevas de Setzol están ubicadas en el departamento de Alta Verapaz, específicamente en el municipio de Chahal.
Tomando como referencia la ciudad de Guatemala, está a 360 kilómetros de distancia; el acceso está sobre la franja transversal del norte. Puede ser más o menos distancia para ti, depende del departamento de Guatemala en el que vivas.
Fueron descubiertas por locales de Chahal, Alta Verapaz, aproximadamente en el año 1932. Desde entonces es un lugar sagrado para la cultura quekchí y aún se siguen celebrando ceremonias mayas.
Costo de ingreso: Q35 por persona (aproximadamente 5 dólares).
Incluye: Guía local, casco y linterna para el tour en las cuevas.
Camping: Q25 por persona (aproximadamente 3.50 dólares).
Tubing (recorrido en tubo salvavidas por el río): Q15 por persona.

Coban Guatemala Attractions - Templo El Calvario
Templo El Calvario (or Iglesia Il Calvario) is church situated on top of a hill overlooking Coban and one of the top sights in this city in Alta Verapaz department of Guatemala. The biggest attraction here is the panorama of the city and since is very easy to walk to it from anywhere in the city.
There is no entrance fee and no theoretically you can visit at any hour, however it is recommended that you tour the place in day light.
Parque Nacional Las Victorias, another top sight in Coban, is situated very close, 10 min walking so you can easily combine these two attractions.

Ubicado en el municipio de Chahal, en Alta Verapaz.
Se puede apreciar una catarata que tiene una altura aproximadamente de 10-15 metros.
Se le llama así porque en el fondo del río se pueden apreciar fósiles de conchas y caracoles.

A hidden gem in Guatemala. The road is in very bad condition but it is well worth the trip. I trully loved my time in Semuc. The cave is awesome and unique experience. I recommend doing the waterwalls at the end and later visiting the 3 levels of crystal clear water ponds that are the icon of Semuc. This is a true adventure. Norhing fancy about it, it is all pure nature and adventure!
