BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR MEXICO ROAD TRIP - La Paz, Cerritos, Santiago, Cabo Pulmo & MORE!
???????? The BEST of Baja California Sur!! Todos Santos & Cerritos Beach …a MUST DO day trip from CABO!
We are Cindy and Eddie from SQUEEZEtheDAY!!!
Today we are going to be exploring some more of Baja California Sur. We start our day by leaving Cabo San Lucas and getting some Cafe de Talega, which is a unique way of making coffee in a sack, at a local restaurant. Then we drive up to Todos Santos. Here we explore this amazing town with a lot of history and art. After trying a couple pieces of hand made candy at La Bella, we go get some delicious fish and shrimp tacos. A link to La Bella will be below here.
We also make our way to Cerrado, a small town that is popular with surfers and RVers alike. It’s not too crowded, the beaches are soft, the water is warm, and the people are friendly. No wonder people have tried to keep it a secret. Plus, we go to Barracuda Restaurant and tried some of the best tacos we’ve ever had. One of the best ways to close out our day is watching the sunset over the Pacific Ocean.

Who we are:
We are Cindy and Eddie from Pennsylvania. We started our YouTube channel in April 2020 after the world took a pause. Since then, we’ve been working to find ways to travel full time on a budget, with a cat. Meet Cinders, a 19 year old black cat with the calmest personality you’ll meet in a cat. She goes where we go, and we want you to go with us too. Enjoy our videos as we show you what we find along the way.
Our first trips were local to our area, Bucks County, and limited to days we weren’t working full time jobs or being restricted by lock-downs. In November of 2020, an opportunity presented itself and we decided to take our Travel Trailer out of storage and travel full time across America. Our current goal of visiting all 50 states has been delayed, but we haven’t given up. Keep following along to see what we're up to next.

California is also home to a number of exciting major cities, charming towns and to some of the world’s best wineries.
Top 10 Things To Do In Todos Santos Mexico | Baja California Sur
Todos Santos is a small coastal town on the Pacific coast, about an hour drive north of Cabo San Lucas or La Paz. It’s charming small town with laidback vibes and feels a world away. The population is 7,185 inhabitants. Todos Santos is located near the Tropic of Cancer in the municipality of La Paz.
Here you will enjoy the old-fashioned old town, boutique hotels, incredible food and beautiful beaches. Todos Santos was established in 1723 when the Jesuits established a Mission in the area. The people that settled here took advantage of the area’s fertile soil, and the area eventually became a major sugar cane producer. In the 1950s there was a drought that caused the closure of several sugar cane factories. Todos Santos was off the grid until 1984, when the road between Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos was paved. Todos Santos became a popular place for tourists who were drawn to the quiet lifestyle of a traditional Mexican village. In 2006 Todos Santos was designated as a Pueblo Mágico for its historical relevance, cultural riches and natural beauty.

Mazatlan

We recommend going to Stone Island or trying your luck at surfing while you are in Mazatlan.
Todos Santos
We are sure you've heard the song Hotel California. Well, the town it was based on is Todos Santos. This small beach town is located on the Pacific Coast and is known for its bohemian vibe, surfing, and beautiful sunsets. Although it can be a bit touristy at times, Todos Santos is definitely worth a visit if you are looking to experience some authentic Mexican culture.
While there, make a trip to Cerritos Beach or go on a hike to see some breathtaking views.
Sayulita
Once a small pueblo that was only known to locals, Sayulita has now become a popular tourist destination. This beach town is located just north of Puerto Vallarta and is known for its surfing, bohemian vibe, and beautiful beaches. Although it can be crowded at times, Sayulita is the perfect place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Looking for a day trip from Cabo? A day trip from Cabo to Todos Santos might be what you’re looking for.
Todos Santos is located just 1 hour north of Cabo San Lucas and is a great day trip from Cabo. Todos Santos has a nice quiet vibe, some even say it’s what Cabo San Lucas was like 20 years ago! Todos Santos Baja California Sur beaches are beautiful and great if you want to learn how to surf, especially at Playa Cerritos. Todos Santos downtown area has plenty of delicious restaurants and is home to Hotel California - you can stay there and find out if it it the real Hotel California, such a lovely place.

Beach camping at Cerritos Beach near Todos Santos, Baja, Mexico
We camped on the beach at Playa Cerritos near Todos Santos for two weeks. Camping here is not the most glamorous, but the vibe and activities here make it worth it. Several surf schools have set up shop here to help eager beginners catch their first waves, and we were able to see whales from shore playing close by.

Todos Santos is a town on the Pacific coast of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula, backed by the Sierra de la Laguna mountain range. Popular with artists, it’s known for its many galleries. The modern Profesor Néstor Agúndez Martínez Cultural Center is housed in a former school and includes a local history museum. To the south, beaches like San Pedrito and Los Cerritos are known for their strong surf.

Todos Santos Pueblo Mágico en Baja California Sur México | Playa Cerritos | Hotel California
Todos Santos en Baja California Sur es un Pueblo Mágico situado sobre una meseta en las faldas de la Sierra de la Laguna, un paraíso que se asoma al Océano Pacífico entre un oasis de sembradíos, palmares y los cañaverales del Valle del Pilar.
La fertilidad de su tierra y la abundancia de agua de los veneros de la Sierra de la Laguna, propiciaron que a finales del siglo antepasado Todos Santos cobrara auge en la agricultura, especialmente en el cultivo de la caña. En 1850 contaba con 8 ingenios.
Esta etapa de bonanza duró aproximadamente cien años. Se construyeron entonces bellos edificios de estilo colonial que albergaron oficinas públicas, hoteles y teatros.
Es un poblado donde el encuentro de culturas es algo cotidiano y el visitante queda cautivado por la intensa vida artística que transcurre en sus galerías y festivales, por el sutil embrujo de sus calles y el envolvente vaivén de sus playas que miran hacia el Pacífico.
Todos Santos fue fundado en 1733 con el establecimiento de la Misión de Santa Rosa de Todos Santos.
Anteriormente se decia que el Hotel California en Todos Santos era la inspiración del grupo Eagles para componer la mundialmente famosa canción que lleva su nombre. Actualmente se sabe que no es así debido a una demanda del mismo grupo desmintiendo esto, sin embargo se sigue contando la leyenda a quienes no conocen la verdad. ????????♂️
Los jesuitas fueron los primeros pobladores españoles del lugar, durante el primer tercio del siglo XVIII, erigiendo la Misión de Santa Rosa de Todos los Santos en 1733. Tras la expulsión de los jesuitas llegaron los franciscanos y dominicos y en 1840 la misión fue abandonada por las epidemias que diezmaban la población y por los conflictos con los indígenas. En 2006, Todos Santos alcanza el rango de Pueblo Mágico.
El pueblo de Todos Santos es llamado La Cuernavaca del Estado de Baja California Sur por su clima templado. Casi nunca llueve, cayendo apenas 151 mm de agua al año, que se concentran en verano e invierno. La temperatura promedio anual es de 22.6° C; la cual desciende hasta 19° C en diciembre y enero, y sube a 28° C en verano. Puede haber ocasionalmente una temperatura extrema, que se acerca a 33° C en la época de calor y a 12° C en el fresco invernal.
Una visita de Todos Santos debe comenzar por su bonita Plaza de Armas, para desde ahí iniciar el recorrido por los sitios de interés, entre los que se encuentran el templo de la Misión de Santa Rosa de Todos los Santos, ahora consagrado a la Virgen del Pila r; el Centro Cultural Néstor Agúndez , el Teatro y Cine General Manuel Márquez de León y las numerosas galerías de arte que hay en la localidad.
La cercanía del Oceano Pacífico proporciona al visitante de Todos Santos fácil acceso a playas oceánicas ideales para la práctica del surf. Todos Santos es un pueblo de una intensa vida cultural y a lo largo del año se van sucediendo diversos festivales, cuyos protagonistas son el mango, el vino y la gastronomía, el cine, el arte y la música, entre los más importantes.
La Plaza de Armas de Todos Santos es una sobria explanada rectangular salpicada de esbeltas palmeras y cocoteros y de espacios verdes, rodeada por las edificaciones más representativas de la arquitectura todosanteña.
La plaza está presidida por una fuente y por un sencillo kiosco de planta circular y en uno de sus costados se encuentra el templo de Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Todos Santos. Otros edificios en torno a la plaza son el de la Delegación Municipal, de vanos arqueados, y el Teatro y Cine General Manuel Márquez de León.
La bondad del clima, lo acogedor del pueblo y su vocación cultural, hicieron de Todos Santos lugar predilecto de descanso de importantes personalidades del mundo del arte y la cultura, especialmente estadounidenses, quienes terminaron por fijar residencia. Esto explica por qué Todos Santos está repleto de galerías de arte, tiendas de artesanías y otros establecimientos ligados al campo cultural. Entre estas casas, que son a la vez espacios artísticos y tiendas comerciales, sobresalen Galería de Todos Santos, Galería Logan, La Sonrisa de la Muerte, Manos Mexicanas, Agua y Sol, Elfeo y Galería Casa Franco.
