We went to the SNOW | Ceres, Western Cape | South Africa
We had to catch the last snow before Spring hits in a few days. We set off at 5:40am from Somerset West to just outside Ceres, close to Matroosberg Nature Reserve. This was by far the most snow we've seen in South Africa and had so much fun. It was so great to see families out and about and having fun together. What a great day and special memories!

The capital buildings architect was Cass Gilbert, construction began in 1924-1932. The three carved figures heads in the west wing were designed after Roman religion, Ceres, Neptune, and Vesta. Charleston county seat of Kanawha County and capital of West Virginia is located about 255 miles west of Washington, D.C. on the Kanawha river, a tributary of the Ohio River. Charleston city is beautiful and jammed packed full of sights to see and things to do.

We came to Atlixco in July, right after our Royal Caribbean cruise and just before we moved to Mexico City. We wanted to experience small town living one more time before hitting the big city. And our week in Atlixco was everything we needed. Relaxing, but with plenty to explore, delicious food, so so green and beautiful, and incredible views of the majestic Popocateptl volcano. This is a town we’d come back to again and again.
We’ve been to 27 pueblos magicos now, and it's our goal to see all 177 someday! We’ve been exploring the beauty of Mexico and growing closer to our heritage since we left Chicago in 2021, and there’s still A LOT to do, see, and learn. Matroosberg snow watch 2021, Ceres Western Cape - Diesel Tech
We decided to check out the snow fall amount at Matroosberg this year (2021), 3 days after the last set of decent snow fall was reported.
Like the Title states no 4x4 vehicle is needed for the those watching as they do not even have to leave their homes for this one, instead we brought the snow to them to be viewed where ever they are, whether it being on their flat screens TV sets at home or on their smart phones at the office.
Sadly the 4x4 trail was not open all the way to the top on the day we were there so we could not show you their 4x4 trail. Besides it seemed that the neighboring areas such as Merino Farm had much greater snow to offer this year than what we found at Matroosberg. Never the less, it was still a great privilege & experience to walk in the crispy ice beneath our feet on the day.
