Hot spring pools are, without a doubt, extremely relaxing and beautiful. Especially now it’s the rainy season in Cebu, we now have one of the many good reasons to finally try dipping into a hotspring. Besides the rejuvenating feeling we get from hotsprings, they also offer a slew of natural health benefits you may not know about. Hot springs are actually a rich source of sulfur and its healing benefits include treating skin irritations and infections such as rashes and eczema, promotes blood circulation and remove body toxins, among others.
Interested now? For the first-timers, the well-known Esoy Hot Spring in Catmon is definitely a good choice — primarily because it’s said to be the only hotspring in northern Cebu. But the catch is, the “No Booking, No Entry” Policy is strictly implemented. Meaning, you have to make a reservation first before coming here.
The place is owned by Mr. Celso “Esoy” Bustamante and his wife. Esoy is also a councilor of Catmon.
The pool with hot water has temperature that ranges from 40-60 C. They provide services like:
River trekking
Viewing of rock formations such as stalagmites and stalactites
Fish feeding
Crossing of the hanging bridge

How to get there?
Exact location: Brgy. Duyan, Catmon, Northern Cebu — approx. 2 hours away from the city.
From the North Bus Terminal, ride any bus/mini bus to Catmon. Bus fare is ~₱85 /head (one-way). Inform the driver to drop you off at the town proper of Brgy. Duyan. Ride a motorbike or habal-habal going to “Esoy Hot Spring”. Fare is ₱30 /head.
If you’re bringing your own vehicle, just navigate with Waze and search for “Esoy Hot Spring” in Catmon. Parking space is available.

Nearest Beach Resort in Catmon Cebu
This is my first long ride with my neighbors (SB Riders Club) using my baby Raven (Sniper 150 2020 model). We found the nearest, riders-friendly, very accessible beach resort in Catmon, the Rañola Beach Resort and KM45 Beach Resort - both in one spot. less than kilometer from Juresdiction between Carmen and Catmon Cebu.
It has sands, pibbles and gravels. Rock formation, diving spot and and most of all, my favorite - fishing spot. Quick day-time chill outside city? I would definitely recommend this to you.
It's a great experience exploring the beach resort as it is close to nature, have diving spot, clear waters and not so typical resorts we usually visit closest to Cebu City. As you can see on the video, kids will love it.

Las Flores Resort is a nice quiet hotel with excellent restaurant and bar located about 45 kilometers north of Cebu City. It is located on the main road and sits next to the sea where you can dive or swim with a beautiful view. It also has a pool.

Catmon, officially the Municipality of Catmon (Cebuano: Lungsod sa Catmon; Tagalog: Bayan ng Catmon), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 30,471 people.
The town fiesta is celebrated every 10 February in honor of their patron saint, San Guillermo de Aquitania. Part of the annual fiesta is the Budbod Kabog Festival and participated by the public schools.
The municipality got its name from the presence of huge trees called katmon (dillenia philippinensis) that thrive in this area. It was in 1835 that the town was founded under the Spaniards, but it was only in 1903 when the place became a municipality, after the Americans asked the leaders of Catmon and the nearby settlement of Sogod to merge into one, single municipality. 18 years after its establishment, in 1921, Sogod became a separate municipality.
