TORINO FA SCHIFO?!? ???????? [1/2]

TORINO FA SCHIFO?!? ????????
TORINO TOP! TUTTO QUELLO CHE DEVI SAPERE PRIMA DI FARE UN VIAGGIO A TORINO
VIDEO DEFINITIVO DI UNA DELLE CITTA' PIU' SOTTOVALUTATE IN ITALIA.
PALAZZO REALE DI TORINO: NEL 1563 TORINO DIVENNE CAPITALE DEL DUCATO DEI SAVOIA. C’ERA BISOGNO DI UN PALAZZO DEGNO DEI NUOVI REGNANTI, PALAZZO CHE FU AMPLIATO, ARREDATO, RIDECORATO, RISISTEMATO NEL CORSO DI DIVERSI ANNI, IN SOSTANZA FINO AL 1865, QUANDO LA CAPITALE DEL NUOVO REGNO D’ITALIA FU SPOSTATA A FIRENZE, QUINDI IL PALAZZO PERSE PROGRESSIVAMENTE LA SUA IMPORTANZA. OGGI IL PALAZZO REALE DI TORINO È PARTE DEI MUSEI REALI.
MA QUESTA NON E' L'UNICA RESIDENZA DEI SAVOIA DEGNA DI NOTA. A TORINO VALE LA PENA VISITARE LA VENARIA REALE, IL CASTELLO DI RACCONIGI, LA PALAZZINA DI CACCIA DI STUPINIGI, IL CASTELLO DI MONCALIERI, IL CASTELLO RIVOLI. MOLTI CASTELLI E RESIDENZE SONO PARTE DELL'UNESCO, A PARTE LA BASILICA DI SUPERGA, CHE MERITA COMUNQUE UNA VISITA

TORINO - LA BASILICA DI SUPERGA: IL DUCA VITTORIO AMEDEO II FECE REALIZZARE QUESTA GRANDE CHIESA ALL’INIZIO DEL ‘700 IN ONORE DELLA VERGINE CHE GUIDÒ L’ESERCITO PIEMONTESE ALLA VITTORIA CONTRO GLI INVASORI FRANCESI
LA BASILICA DI SUPERGA NON È SOLO UN GIOIELLO ARCHITETTONICO PROGETTATO DA FILIPPO JUVARRA, ARCHITETTO DI CASA SAVOIA, QUI SI POSSONO VISITARE ANCHE GLI APPARTANENTI REALI E LE TOMBE REALI DEI SAVOIA NEI SOTTERRANEI DELLA BASILICA

GRANDE TORINO: UNA DELLE SQUADRE DI CALCIO PIU FORTI DI TUTTI I TEMPI, CHE NEGLI ANNI ‘40 VINCEVA PRATICAMENTE TUTTO E CHISSÀ QUANTO SAREBBE DURATA QUESTA SERIE DI VITTORIE SE IL 4 MAGGIO 1949 L’AEREO CHE RIPORTAVA A CASA IL GRANDE TORINO NON SI FOSSE SCHIANTATO CONTRO I MURAGLIONI DI SOSTEGNO DEL GIARDINO DELLA BASILICA DI SUPERGA CAUSANDO LA MORTE DI TUTTI I PASSEGGERI E LA FINE DEL GRANDE TORINO, CHE FU SALUTATO PER L'ULTIMA VOLTA A PALAZZO MADAMA PRIMA DEI FUNERALI

TORINO PALAZZO MADAMA: CUSTODISCE 2000 ANNI DELLA STORIA DI TORINO. ANTICHISSIMA PORTA DI ACCESSO ALL’INSEDIAMENTO ROMANO DI AUGUSTA TAURINORUM, INSIEME ALLA PORTA PALATINA.
IN SEGUITO PALAZZO MADAMA FU UNA FORTEZZA A DIFESA DELLA CITTA E NEL MEDIOEVO I SAVOIA LO INGRANDIRONO E NE FACERO UN CASTELLO VERO E PROPRIO. FU POI RESIDENZA PER GLI OSPITI DEI SAVOIA FINO AL ‘600, QUANDO DUE DONNE DI CASA SAVOIA – DUE MADAME REALI, DA QUI IL NOME - COMMISSIONARONO IMPORTANTI LAVORI DI RISTRUTTURAZIONE. A LORO SI DEVE L'ASPETTO ATTUALE DI PALAZZO MADAMA E IN PARTICOLAR MODO LA SPLENDIDA FACCIATA DI FILIPPO JUVARRA, UNO DEI PRINCIPALI ARCHITETTI BAROCCHI, CHE LAVORO’ MOLTISSIMO A TORINO PER I SAVOIA.
PALAZZO MADAMA DIVENNE NEL 1934 LA SEDE DEL MUSEO CIVICO DI ARTE ANTICA DI TORINO. MA SE PARLIAMO DI MUSEI A TORINO C'E' SOLO L'IMBARAZZO DELLA SCELTA

MUSEI DI TORINO:
MUSEO REALE A PALAZZO REALE E GALLERIA SABAUDA, UNA DELLE PIÙ IMPORTANTI PINACOTECHE D'ITALIA, OGGI PARTE DEI MUSEI REALI DI TORINO
MUSEO NAZIONALE DEL RISORGIMENTO ITALIANO A PALAZZO CARIGNANO: STUPENDO PALAZZO BAROCCO DEL ‘600, DAL 1848 CAMERA DEI DEPUTATI DEL PRIMO PARLAMENTO SUBALPINO. CON LA NASCITA DEL REGNO D’ITALIA NEL 1861 INIZIARONO DEI LAVORI PER L’AMPLIAMENTO DI QUELLO CHE SAREBBE DOVUTO ESSERE IL PRIMO PARLAMENTO ITALIANO, LAVORI CHE PERÒ TERMINARONO NEL 1871, QUANDO LA CAPITALE ERA STATA SPOSTATA A ROMA. QUINDI IN SEGUITO PALAZZO CARIGNANO DIVENTO' LA SEDE DEL MUSEO NAZIONALE DEL RISORGIMENTO ITALIANO.
MUSEO CIVICO DI ARTE ANTICA DI TORINO, A PALAZZO MADAMA
MUSEO DEL RISORGIMENTO A PALAZZO CARIGNANO
MUSEO DELL’AUTOMOBILE
MUSEO EGIZIO DI TORINO ALL’ACCADEMIA DELLE SCIENZE, IL PIÙ ANTICO MUSEO AL MONDO DEDICATO ALLA CULTURA EGIZIA E, PER QUANTITÀ E IMPORTANZA DEI REPERTI, SECONDO SOLO AL MUSEO EGIZIO DE IL CAIRO
MUSEO NAZIONALE DEL CINEMA ALLA MOLE ANTONELLIANA

TORINO MOLE ANTONELLIANA: LA MOLE ANTONELLIANA È UN EDIFICIO MONUMENTALE DI TORINO, SITUATO NEL CENTRO STORICO, SIMBOLO DELLA CITTÀ E UNO DEI SIMBOLI D'ITALIA. IL NOME DERIVA DELL’ARCHITETTO CHE LA PROGETTÒ, ALESSANDRO ANTONELLI. SI CHIAMA “MOLE” PERCHÈ IN PASSATO FU LA COSTRUZIONE IN MURATURA PIÙ ALTA DEL MONDO! 167,5 METRI! DAL 2000 AL SUO INTERNO HA SEDE IL MUSEO NAZIONALE DEL CINEMA DI TORINO.

TRA LE TANTE ATTRAZIONI CHE FANNO DI TORINO UNA DELLE CITTA' PIU' BELLE IN ITALIA NON POTETE MANCARE DI VISITARE LA TORINO SOTTERRANEA, CON TOUR GUIDATI CHE VI PORTANO ALLA SCOPERTA DI TUNNEL SEGRETI E ANCHE DELLA SCALA DOVE PIETRO MICCA SI FECE ESPODERE IN UN ATTO DI EROISMO PER SALVARE LA CITTA' DALL'INVASIONE FRANCESE. VILLACH:

Tuscany is known for its landscapes, history, artistic legacy, and its influence on high culture. It is regarded as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance[5] and of the foundations of the Italian language. The prestige established by the Tuscan dialect's use in literature by Dante Alighieri, Petrarch, Giovanni Boccaccio, Niccolò Machiavelli and Francesco Guicciardini led to its subsequent elaboration as the language of culture throughout Italy.[6] It has been home to many figures influential in the history of art and science, and contains well-known museums such as the Uffizi and the Palazzo Pitti. Tuscany is also known for its wines, including Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Morellino di Scansano, Brunello di Montalcino and white Vernaccia di San Gimignano. Having a strong linguistic and cultural identity, it is sometimes considered a nation within a nation.[7]

Tuscany is the second most popular Italian region for travellers in Italy, after Veneto.[8] The main tourist spots are Florence, Castiglione della Pescaia, Pisa, San Gimignano, Lucca, Grosseto and Siena.[9] The town of Castiglione della Pescaia is the most visited seaside destination in the region,[9] with seaside tourism accounting for approximately 40% of tourist arrivals. The Maremma region, Siena, Lucca, the Chianti region, Versilia and Val d'Orcia are also internationally renowned and particularly popular spots among travellers.

Eight Tuscan localities have been designated World Heritage Sites: the historic Centre of Florence (1982); the Cathedral square of Pisa (1987); the historical centre of San Gimignano (1990); the historical centre of Siena (1995); the historical centre of Pienza (1996); the Val d'Orcia (2004), the Medici Villas and Gardens (2013), and Montecatini Terme as part of the Great Spa Towns of Europe (2021). Tuscany has over 120 protected nature reserves, making Tuscany and its capital Florence popular tourist destinations. In 2018, Florence alone had over 5 million arrivals, making it the world's 51st most visited city.[10]

Places to see in ( Turin - Italy ) Piazza Carignano

Places to see in ( Turin - Italy ) Piazza Carignano

Piazza Carignano is one of the historic squares of the city of Turin .
Next to Piazza Castello , it is bounded by the Accademia delle Scienze streets, Cesare Battisti and Principe Amedeo. It is completely surrounded by remarkable Baroque architecture, among which stands out the imposing bulk of Palazzo Carignano , one of the major symbols of the Italian Risorgimento . Opposite the latter are the Teatro Carignano and some important local citizens such as the famous Ristorante del Cambio and the historic Gelateria Pepino . Orna the center of the square a statue dedicated to Vincenzo Gioberti .

The dimensions (about 88x33 meters), the monumentality of the curvilinear facade of Palazzo Carignano and the nearby presence of prestigious institutions in Via dell'Accademia delle Scienze, such as the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities , make the square one of the richest corners of artistic influences , historical and monumental of the historical center of Turin. The pedestrianization has made even more appreciable the atmosphere gathered in the square.

The square was opened during the expansion of the city of Turin provided by the Duke Vittorio Amedeo I of Savoy : the elegant palace, intended for Prince Emanuele Filiberto di Carignano the Mute was erected starting from 1679 on what had been the stables of the prince Tommaso Francesco di Savoia . The project, entrusted to Guarino Guarini, provided, on the side facing the Po , an elegant garden and, on the square, the famous sinuous façade, pearl of Baroque architecture. The works continued until 1685 , making this palace one of the most important buildings in Turin.

Later, when the Savoy of Carignano inherited the subalpine throne, the palace and the homonymous square became scenarios of those events that would have made the history of a united Italy. As recalled by the monumental inscription on the top of the building, QVI NACQVE VITTORIO EMANVELE II and the statute Albertino was announced by the sumptuous balcony . Inside the palace, the first Parliament of united Italy was set up.

Opposite Palazzo Carignano, there is the theater that takes its name from the square. The Carignano Theater stands in place of what was once the tennis hall of the city of Turin (called the Red Trincotto ). It was Vittorio Amedeo I of Savoy-Carignano who, in 1709 , had the boxes set up to transform the hall into a theater, which was then opened to the public during the 1711 carnival . In the course of history many authors performed here, from Carlo Goldoni to Vittorio Alfieri .

Adjacent to the theater is the famous Il Cambio restaurant . Already existent in the eighteenth century, the Cambio owes its fame to the illustrious people who used to have lunch: among them, Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour and Vittorio Emanuele II of Italy . In 1859 the monument dedicated to Vincenzo Gioberti was inaugurated , a work by the Valsesian Giovanni Albertoni .

( Turin - Italy ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Turin . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Turin - Italy

Cosa Vedere a Torino - Piazza Solferino - Tour Guidato

Piazza Solferino -

Monticchiello, Tuscany, Italy

travel videos & photos at: with text, maps & links.
We are in Tuscany, Italy, visiting little, such tiny village that you've probably never heard of. It's Monticchiello, another one of the charming hill towns that are so beautiful. And this place is quite special, because only 200 people live here.
It's a medieval walled town that dates back to the 13th century, just a few miles away from Pienza, very charming.
The village is less than 200 meters wide and yet has numerous little lanes and old stone buildings that make it very attractive – a fun place to explore for at least a couple of hours, or stick around longer for a meal in one of those great restaurants we will show you later.
It's up on the hill, surrounded by olive trees in that classic Tuscan style, with old buildings throughout the village.
Park your car outside, down below town, and then walk up the gentle hill to get into the village, which is surrounded by a green park with some pretty trees showing fall colors. We're here in November.
Two towers are among seven still standing at this old medieval fortified wall around the town, protecting St. Agatha's gate that dates back to the 13th century. It's the main gate leading into the village.
There is no single most-important thing to see, so the idea is, take a walk throughout the little village, because the entire ensemble is one of the best-preserved old towns in Tuscany. Very little development or changes have happened in recent centuries.
It's a small town, and we have a short movie, but you will be surprised at how much there is to see, including some amazing gourmet restaurants, and places to stay. We also found a friendly cat in the Gothic church. It's a destination to put on your list.
The first time Monticchiello is ever mentioned in any historic document was during the tenth century, but it's likely people lived here back in the Etruscan and Roman eras.
The Middle Ages were a turbulent time here, with warfare and competition between the nearby cities, so little Monticchiello was aligned with Siena for its protection, until Florence took control later in the 16th century.
This small fortified hamlet was like a castle, with its main tower, Torre dell Casserol, the keep of the castle where the Lord lived, tallest among the other 16 towers in those days, shown here inside the white circle.

Todi, Umbria, Italy, walking tour

travel videos & photos at: with text, maps & links.
The hill towns of Italy are magnificent places to explore, and in this program we are taking a deep dive into one of the finest of all of them. It's called Todi in Umbria.
We'll be focusing on the little pedestrian lanes and the piazzas, lined with historic buildings. We will see monumental arches in the old, fortified walls and some modern shops.
We'll have a look at the main Piazza Del Popolo in the daytime and at night, and take a walk along the main shopping street that extends out from the piazza. But mostly we are strolling through those charming little pedestrian lanes.
The town of Todi is another one of the medieval gems of Umbria. It's very ancient town, origins go back 3000 years. It was first settled by the local folks, the Umbri, built a wall around it, and then the Romans conquered and built their wall around it, 2000 years ago, and then during the medieval times in the Middle Ages, the third wall was built around Todi. So it was very well protected and incredibly preserved. All of the buildings within these medieval walls are original stone structures, most of them are at least seven or 800 years old. So it's really like walking through a castle, like a huge, fortified castle. It's almost like a Walt Disney fairytale come to life.
This is the second of our videos about Todi, with different content than our first video, you can find here:
In this video we focus more on walking the little pedestrian lanes, away from the center -- the back lanes.

Todi is a town of the province of Perugia, region of Umbria, in central Italy. It is perched on a tall two-crested hill overlooking the east bank of the river Tiber, commanding distant views in every direction.
In the 1990s, Richard S. Levine, a professor of Architecture at the University of Kentucky, described Todi as the model sustainable city, because of its scale and its ability to reinvent itself over time. After that, the Italian press reported on Todi as the world's most livable city.

At Home in Langhe | Italy Discoveries | World Nomads

What if there was a place where kisses came in twos, courses in fours, and laughter is limitless? Watch as World Nomads’ Sofia Levin shares her visual poem, At Home in Langhe, inspired by her culinary travels through the region of Langhe & Roero in northwest Italy. Here, she uncovers a place of pleasure seekers, where wine pulses through people’s veins and people share not out of generosity but out of genuine love; a place that many of us wouldn’t mind calling home for at least a little while.
