This is my travel guide for San Diego! San Diego, California has so many amazing things to do, making it almost hard to know WHAT to do. This video will cover many attractions in the area, free things to do in San Diego, as well as hidden gems!
Little Italy is an outstanding neighborhood in San Diego. It has a wonderful atmosphere as a result of its bright buildings, European architecture, restaurants, cafes, and public spaces. Coronado Island is a great place to get away and hang out at the beach, with the great Hotel del Coronado nearby. Balboa Park is also located very close to Little Italy. It is an amazing public space with museums, gardens, hiking, and plenty to explore!
The nearby town of La Jolla has countless of fantastic places and activities. La Jolla Cove, Children's Pool, and the downtown are great places to start. Sunset Cliffs is located just south of La Jolla - it is one of the top places to walk around by the water to watch the sunset.
San Diego is also close to the mountains, which provides plenty of hiking options! You can also hike and explore the area of Torrey Pines, which has beautiful trails with beach views from cliffs overlooking the ocean.

Casa de Oro-Mount Helix is a census-designated place (CDP) in San Diego County, California. The CDP encompasses several neighborhoods in unincorporated parts of the county near the cities of El Cajon and La Mesa as well as part of the unincorporated community of Spring Valley. The CDP gets its name from the neighborhood of Casa de Oro, which straddles the line between Spring Valley and unincorporated El Cajon.

Mt. Helix in La Mesa, California - Travels With Phil
This is a quick look at the top of Mt. Helix in La Mesa, California. It shows you the amphitheater, the cross, and tell you a little bit of the history. It also gives you a quick glance at Al AND Janet Johnstone's famous rotating house. Mt. Helix is about 1,300 feet above sea level. It offers a nice view of Downtown San Diego (many miles away), Cowles Mt, and El Cajon. The amphitheater is the site of a well-known sunrise Easter service each year. FYI, parking is VERY limited.
It was named after a snail which was found here over 100 years ago. There is a female ghost who allegedly roams the area from time to time. After the area changed from a citrus grove into lots, it was eventually called the Grossmont Artists Colony. Many famous people once lived here, including Owen Wister, author of the famous western novel “The Virginian” - ???????????????????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????? ???????? ???????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????? -
