Motorcycle Tour of Ireland (Fat Lad on a Bike) Day 2 of 6 to Tipperary, Carrick on Suir and Kilkenny

Day Two of the Ireland Tour where you see us travelling a 241 mile round trip passing through Tipperary then Carrick on Suir onto Kilkenny and back to basecamp the Bed & Breakfast Arch House in Athlone (Highly Recommended by the way).
Athlone being a great place to stay as its about centre of Ireland and a great starting point to go about anywhere you want. Still having problems with the Drift helmet cameras but managed some riding footage but without commentary which i think makes it.

Top 10 Worst Places to Live in Ireland | MOJ TRAVEL

In this video, we are going to discuss “Top 10 Worst Cities to Live in the Ireland.”. There are many beautiful places in Ireland to live and explore, but unfortunately, there are also some pretty bad cities in this world that you don’t want to live in. Not all of the cities on the list below are in poor areas or cities, so this is not a list of the worst places to live in Ireland.

Timestamp:
10. Galway 00:16
9. Dublin 00:37
8. Larne 00:52
7. Castleblayne 01:15
6. Tipperary 01:42
5. Limerick 02:04
4. Clonmel 02:28
3. Bunclody 02:54
2. Carrick-on-suir 03:20
1. Longford 03:43

Summary
The overall health of a place can be assessed through air quality, crime rates, and access to public services and the cost of living is high. Pollution, poverty, and unemployment are the three most important factors in the least livable places in Ireland. These places and their inhabitants are strongly affected by crime rates, with high rates of crime against women due to prostitution and underage theft.

Cycling the River Suir Blueway from Clonmel to Kilsheelan, County Tipperary and County Waterford.

The Suir Blueway is a new cycling and walking path between Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir along the banks of the River Suir that flows through Tipperary to Waterford.

The blueway also features a canoe trail that starts in Cahir all the way to Waterford City.

The path is mostly on the Tipperary side but the Suir here marks the boundary between the counties of Tipperary (path side) and Waterford (other side of the river).

The path is approximately 22km in length and runs from Tipperary's largest town, Clonmel to Carrick-on-Suir home to two of Ireland's famous cyclists - Sean Kelly and Sam Bennett.

Here, on a sunny summer's day I cycle from Clonmel to Kilsheelan.

The Suir is home to otters, kingfishers, herons, cormorants and many other wild creatures as well as some fine old bridges and views of Slievenamon, the Comeragh Mountains and the lush green Irish countryside.

More to come from Kilsheelan to Carrick-on-Suir next time, subscribe for more.

Aerial views of SE Ireland, Co. Tipperary, Co. Wexford and Co. Waterford.

I spent a few days in SE Ireland filming areas of Co. Tipperary, Co, Wexford and Co. Waterford to make a family DVD of places where my father grew up (Co Tipp.) and where two of my sisters now live (Co Wexford). This is a compilation of some of the clips with a few strange cuts to keep the video length down.

Roll call of places include : River Suir, Ardfinnan, Knockmealdown Mountains, the Vee, Knocklofty Bridge in Co. Tipp.; the Hook Lighthouse, Kilmore Quay, Slievecoillte in Co Wexford and Ballydowane Bay in Co. Waterford.

Filmed with a DJI Phantom 3 Professional quadcopter. I was having a few connection issues during the trip so any circling shots were done manually (no point of interest available).

The main castle building is a fortified tower dating from the sixteenth-century.An adjoining hall was added at a later date, when the need for defence gave way to the large windows associated with settled times. In the sixteenth century the manor of Kilcash passed from the Wall family into the possession of the Butlers of Ormond. The latter sold the castle to the Irish State in 1997 for £500.

In 1614, Walter, 11th Earl of Ormond, who lived at Kilcash, inherited the Ormond title from his uncle Thomas, 10th Earl of Ormond. The possession of the Ormond lands was disputed and Walter spent 1619-1625 in prison in London while James VI and I pressurised him to surrender most of his property. Walter passed the manor of Kilcash on to one of his grandsons, Colonel Richard Butler of Kilcash.

The 3rd Earl of Castlehaven, a noted Confederate Catholic commander in the 1641-52 wars, frequently stayed at Kilcash where his sister, Lady Frances, was married to Richard of Kilcash, another confederate commander. Lord Castlehaven wrote his memoirs there (published as The Earl of Castlehaven's Review).

In the 19th century, the castle fell into ruin after parts of the Kilcash Estate were sold c. 1800. During the Irish Civil War, the castle was occupied by Anti-Treaty forces in an attempt to slow the approach of Pro-Treaty forces towards Clonmel. They were finally dislodged by artillery fire under the command of Commandant-General John T. Prout, further damaging the already dilapidated structure.

By the late twentieth century, the castle was in a dangerous state of repair. Beginning in 2011, the castle underwent extensive repairs to prevent it from collapsing.
