We recently took a trip to Santa Barbara and I wanted to share our experience as well as things to do in and around the area. We stayed at the Waterman hotel downtown, in the Funk Zone. We were there in early April during the Covid 19 Pandemic and I would say the 60-70% of the people there were wearing masks outside. Very beautiful and scenic city with a lot of things to do.

Carpinteria, located 10 miles south of Santa Barbara, has all the elements that make a town great. The main street is full of places to eat and drink, there is a beach, bike paths, reasonably priced accommodations, and super approachable locals. Carpinteria is a peaceful beach community with many nearby natural attractions.
Carpinteria is a small seaside city in southeastern Santa Barbara County, California. Located on the Central Coast of California, it has a population of 13,000. Carpinteria is a popular surf destination, the city embraced the slogan World's Safest Beach in 1912, which it still uses today.
The city is located almost entirely on a coastal plain in between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Between the foothills and the populated area of the city is an agricultural zone.
There is bird watching at Carpinteria Salt Marsh Reserve, established in 1977. The Wardholme Torrey Pine, the largest known Torrey pine tree on earth, is located in downtown Carpinteria.The Torrey Pine is the rarest pine species and can only be seen on a natural reserve located between the cities of Del Mar and San Diego.

Come join me for a full tour of the Best Western Plus Carpinteria Inn in Carpinteria, California. This inn is beautiful and its location is fantastic. It is near highway 101, downtown Carpinteria and the beach.
We stayed in room 335 which has a balcony facing the courtyard. Room 335 is a basic room with a mini-refrigerator but no microwave. There is a microwave at the end of the hallway.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
What's Inside Carpinteria State Beach Campground - Ep 26
In today's Kim's Adventure, we're at the Carpinteria State Beach Campground, camping for one night.
Located 12 miles south of Santa Barbara, this 62 acre park was established in 1932.
It has over 4000 feet of beach front and offers 191 family sites including RV hookups on select sites.
There are four areas to choose from, the Anacapa, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa and San Miguel.
Reservations can be made online at reservecalifornia.com from March 1 through November 30 for a maximum of 7 days
Or December 1 through February 28 for a maximum of 15 consecutive days.
Expect to pay about $45 per night and make sure you book early as spots fill up quickly.

Carpinteria State Beach features a beautiful mile-long beach and is located just 12 miles from Santa Barbara. The campground has 216 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs (up to 35 feet). About 105 have hookups, and of those there are 80 full hookups in the Santa Rosa Loop. Beach front campsites are 358-380 and 447-456. FYI – trailers/RVs will be measured so make sure your camper’s length complies with the size of the campsite’s parking area.

This is a short tour of room 335 at the Best Western Plus Carpinteria Inn in #Carpinteria , California. Room 335 is a basic room with two queen beds and a balcony that faces the beautiful courtyard.
The room also has a small refrigerator and a safe, but NO microwave. After we checked out, we discovered that there is a public microwave down the hall.
Best Western Plus Carpinteria Inn is a beautiful hotel near downtown Carpinteria and it's only one mile from the beach!

The 52 acres of the Bluffs property, originally zoned as Planned Unit Development, was saved in 1998 from development through the efforts of Citizens for the Carpinteria Bluffs in partnership with the Land Trust for Santa Barbara County. Nice to have this wonderful park and habitat for all to enjoy, rather than a condo development or Costco, in my opinion.

Carpinteria State Beach Camping RV Park | Carpinteria, California | RV Camping
Carpinteria State Beach is a large oceanside state park in California. It has RV and tent camping, as well as day-use surfing, bodyboarding, etc. The park has three sections, one with full hook-ups. The park has a lot of oceanside camping spots, but all of the spots are very small and tight. I'd make sure to check the side of your spot to make sure your camper will fit -- as there is not much room for error. The state park is also adjacent to the Carpinteria Tar Pits and offers amazing bluffs and sunset views.
