Exploring Central Park in Managua during Christmas
Tour of the General Irineo Estrada Morales park, better known as the “Central Park”, located in the historic center of Managua.
The park is one of the main attractions of the city, since it is part of the historic center of Managua, along with the Palace of Culture and the old Managua Cathedral forming a small square.
Among the monuments found in the park are:
• The Temple of Music popularly known as “the gazebo”
• The Bust of General Francisco Morazán
• The Bust of Don Fulgencio Vega, senator who issued the Decree of February 5, 1852 designating Managua, Capital of the Republic
• The Bust of Doña Josefa Toledo de Aguerri, and
• The Mausoleums of Carlos Fonseca Amador, Santos López, and Tomás Borge
During Christmas, the park is decorated with thousands of colored lights and ornaments . This attracts many visitors from everywhere.
The atmosphere is warm and pleasant. People visit the park with family or friends to take beautiful photos. So much to see and do is sure to open up the appetite but no worries -fast food is everywhere and the variety is abundant!
