This time we came to CARHUAZ, like 9 hours away from LIMA is this beautiful town surrounded by Mountains and Glaciers. We went all over CARHUAZ and its surroundings The Holy Field of YUNGAY and the incredible LLANGANUCO LAGOON.
In thi vlog we will tell you our experience and how much we enjoyed this beautiful trip.
To come to CARHUAZ from LIMA we use the road and it is like 9 hours away. You first have to come to HUARAZ (8.5 hours) and from there take a van of more less S/.10 to Carhuaz (0.5 hours).
The food from the mountains is spectacular, you have to try it.

Stunning Hike to Laguna 69 | Lima to Huaraz, Peru
Peru is a hikers dream! We flew into Lima, Peru and stayed in the coastal town of Miraflores, and then bused from Lima to Huaraz. We spent two days hiking in Huascarán National Park and stayed in an alpine hut called, “Refugio Peru siting at 15,300 feet elevation. We hiked to Laguna 69, one of Peru's most beautiful alpine lakes.
Laguna 69 and Refugio Peru is situated in Cordillera Blanca, the world’s highest tropical mountain range. Huascarán National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site and biosphere reserve. This area is also home to the tallest mountain in Peru, and 4th tallest peak in the Western Hemisphere, Mount Huascarán sitting at 22,205 feet tall.
During this hike you are surrounded by 360 views of jagged glaciated mountain peaks. We both got mild altitude sickness, but that didn’t stop us from taking in all the beauty. We travelled to Peru in Sept and it was definitely low season in this area.

Visité la LAGUNA más cristalina del Mundo en HUARAZ - PERÚ
En esta ocasión visitamos Huaraz, lugar maravilloso de la serranía peruana que nos dejó maravillados con su cultura y su belleza natural.
Llegamos a la ciudad de Huaraz e inmediatamente nos pusimos en marcha rumbo a Carhuaz, que nos servirá como punto de partida hacia las lagunas. En este lugar comimos unos ricos helados naturales en la Heladería Porvenir y luego nos dirigimos hacia el Camposanto de Yungay.
Así es, a Yungay, que después del terremoto de 1970 en Perú, una avalancha del nevado Huascarán sepultó a esta ciudad. Dejándola inhabitable, y a partir de ese momento declarada ciudad intangible.
Luego fuimos hacia la Laguna Llanganuco, que con su majestuoso color turquesa, nos dejó asombrados y valió la pena el viaje de 2 horas desde Carhuaz.
¡Una recomendación! Si tu deseas ahorrarte horas de viaje, quédate a descansar en Carhuaz y así sea más rápido el traslado hacia la siguiente laguna.
Al día siguiente, partimos desde Carhuaz y llegamos hasta la laguna Parón, con un trecking de una hora. El camino es un poco duro pero vale mucho la pena llegar y observar el color turquesa de esta hermosa laguna.
Podemos decir que ¡Vivimos Intensamente en Huaraz!
