How to go to Carcar City
If coming from Cebu City head to South Bus Terminal and ride the Ceres bus bound for Oslob. Ask the driver to drop you off near Carcar Public Market.
Ride a tricycle from the bus stop to the market.
Travel time from Cebu to Carcar - 1 hour or more depending on the traffic.
You can find the Chicharon area along the highway near the rotunda.
How to go to Simala Shrine from Carcar City
Ride a bus bound for Oslob and ask them to drop you off at Brgy. Simala Sibonga.
You can find a habal-habal or trike that will take you to the shrine.
Or from Carcar, hire a tricycle that will take you straight to the shrine.

CEBU, PHILIPPINES - Welcome to Cebu, one of the greatest food cities in the Philippines! Today I’m hanging out with my friends Bhen and Yuri, and we’re going on an ultimate Filipino street food tour - which turned out to be more of an exotic food tour - eating some of the unique, wiggly, and incredibly delicious foods that you can find in Cebu!

Here’s everywhere we ate on this Cebu street food tour:
1. Jerbie's Kandingan ( - Naga, Cebu, Philippines - Early in the morning we started at Jerbie's Kandingan, known for their variety of stews, and especially Balbacua, a Filipino beef stew using all the hoofs and collage rich parts. The recipe is quite complicated with onions and ginger and pineapple juice and peanut butter. The result is this sticky and extremely tasty stew that’s a perfect easy start to your morning. We also had some Soup number 5, legendary power soup in the Philippines!
2. Ginabot sa Pardo ( - One of the greatest Philippines street foods in Cebu is ginabot, the raffled flower intestines deep fried. But the highlight is the dipping sauce that includes onions, chilies, calamansi, soy sauce, and vinegar. It’s a perfect crispy snack!
3. Delfa’s Tungolan ( - Next up on this action packed Philippines street food tour we went to the legendary Delfa’s Tungolan for her giant pig intestines stuffed with leek and green onions. They are deep fried and served again with the dipping sauce which makes it insanely tasty.
4. Brigols ( Mandaue City, Philippines - Another famous street food in Cebu is Tuslob buwa, pig brains melted with lard and scooped up with compressed rice. It’s fun to eat and it’s a delicious was to make full use of all the parts of the pig.
5. Matias BBQ ( - Finally to complete this ultimate Cebu street food tour we went to the iconic Matias BBQ, a household name in Cebu. We had some delicious organ skewers and tame chicken wings to end!
What a day of Filipino street food, eating some of the most extreme meats and foods Cebu has to offer!

In 2021 the new public market in Carcar City was opened. A visit has been on my list for a while so I ventured out on a Sunday morning taking a Ceres bus from Cebu City. The market itself is very modern with individual stallholders having metal roller shutters to secure their produce at closing time. One of the main attractions are the Lechon stalls, always busy on a weekend and of course one can't refuse to partake in the delicacy whilst there ! Within the covered market there are the usual goods and items you will find in any Filipino market. Outside there are vendors also selling their produce under tarps. I couldn't possibly come away from Carcar without a purchase of their famous Chicharon - certainly the best ive tasted as it is always fresh, right from the source. #carcarcity #cebu #philippinemarkets

TALLEST STATUE IN CEBU | CARCAR CITY (6th Tallest in the Philippines)
The Meditative Garden of the Sacred Heart in the mountain barangay of Can-asujan, Carcar City towers the sky at 29.2 meters (96 feet). Inside a private property of Engineer Emelia Bacus, the towering figure is arpound 10 kilometers from the National Highway. The Christ figure lits up at night and has a stair where one can climb up reaching the heart level of the statue.

Join me for episode 5 and the final episode of my 2022 FILIPINO STREET FOOD series! This time I'm in CARCAR city in Cebu. This is a gastronomic city of The Philippines famed for its LECHON or roast suckling pig. Besides lechon Carcar is also famous for its chicharron, pork skin crackling.
I'm meeting up with Carcar native Reuben for the FULL lechon experience in Carcar. After visiting a back alley chicharron factory we are heading to the new market to buy some fresh lechon to take to his Auntie's house.

In this Filipino travel vlog, I'm visiting Carcar City in Cebu, Philippines. Located on the eastern island of Cebu, Carcar City is a popular tourist destination for people who love to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
In this video, I'll show you around Carcar City and share some of my favorite attractions and experiences while I'm there. If you're looking for a fun and relaxing weekend getaway, then Carcar City is definitely worth a visit!
Carcar City, located in the southern part of the province of Cebu, is known as the Heritage Town of Cebu. It is best known for its buildings’ architecture as the city maintains the historical and colonial structures that were built during the Spanish and American colonial periods of the Philippines. A few of the buildings that stood the test of time are heritage houses (Balay na Tisa, Yap House, and Silva House), St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, Carcar Rotunda, and Carcar Dispensary. Balay na Tisa is one of the most notable structures here as it is considered the oldest heritage house in Carcar.
Meanwhile, the Church of St. Catherine of Alexandria is a popular destination for tourists due to its inviting architecture. The Augustinian church displays a simple Greco-Roman rectangular facade with twin bell towers and pylons and has a minaret shape like Muslim mosques. Carcar Rotunda serves as the home of old statues on a town plaza while Carcar Dispensary Museum keeps the history of Carcar in a nutshell.

BUCKLE IN FRIENDS ???? We're going on a ROADTRIP TO CARCAR ???????? BEST LECHON IN THE PHILIPPINES ????. And yes, that means lots of singing (off key) and jokes and all the fun stuff that comes with any roadtrip! And it's all thanks to HERTZ PH for sponsoring this video ❤️
This won't be our first time trying lechon HOWEVER it will be our first time making our way to Carcar to try theirs: as that's what they are famously known for!! We've heard from people all over the Philippines for the past 6 months that we HAVE TO go try the lechon in Carcar and we finally made that a reality in this vlog.
Don't think we forgot to get our fix of chicharon because we stocked up on that too ????. That is something we've been been huge fans of for years and years and let's just say...they did NOT disappoint!
And before we make our way to stuff our faces with lechon and chicharon we make a quick stop in Sibonga to see the Simala Parish Church in all her glory. It's an absolutely stunning, and vast, compound dedicated to the Virgin Mary with some of the most manicured landscapes and sanctuary. Also, a very incredible history in which we discuss in this video so make sure to listen out for that.
