Si entra nel Lazio, raggiungiamo prima la città di Bolsena con il suo splendido lago e poi arriviamo fino alla periferia della città eterna, attraversando come sempre luoghi incantevoli del nostro splendido paese.

LA VIA FRANCIGENA da Viterbo a Campagnano Romano con UOEI Torre del Lago Puccini
10 e 11 maggio 2014, la penultima tappa della via Francigena verso Roma, da Viterbo, per Vetralla, Capranica, Sutri, Monterosi e finale a Campagnano. Abbiamo alloggiato a Bassano Romano nel monastero di San Vincenzo e per tutta l'accoglienza, ottima, che ci è stata data, dobbiamo ringraziare la signora Maria Rita che ci ha fatto trovare, fra le altre cose, anche una buona cena, diciamo non proprio da pellegrini, insomma da consigliare.
Elevato il numero dei partecipanti, un serpentone di 100 persone, abbastanza allungate, ma era impensabile che questo non avvenisse dato il numero e data la diversa attitudine al camminare.
Quindi tutto benissimo, ci ritroveremo per l'ultima tappa ad ottobre e......poi si ricomincia verso nord!

Ottimo ristorante al centro di Terni che, oltre alla comoda posizione, offre un menu tipico a prezzi contenuti! Un'ottima taverna dove passare una rilassante e mangereccia serata in compagnia!!! Eravamo in 4 ed abbiamo assaggiato l'Antipasto del Contadino, le Ceriole alla ternana, i Picchiarelli alla sangeminese, un buon vino locale per tutti e abbiamo speso 56,50€!!! Consigliatissimo!!!

Leaving Sarzana we take a detour to head to the beach at Marina di Massa, skipping the stage to Massa itself. After a rest day on the Med, we train ahead to walk the last 9 km from Pietrasante to Camaiore.

Da Orvinio arrivi all'Abbazia Santa Maria del Piano!
Dall'Abbazia proseguire a destra fino a due Staccionate ( Cancelli )
Entrare in quello di destra, richiuderlo e proseguire dritto, non a destra!!!
Da lì dritto davanti, separato dal prato, in lontananza, c'è un grande albero dove inizia la boscaglia!
Puntare dritto e raggiunta la boscaglia si intravede subito il sentiero, seguirlo fino ad arrivare ad un laghetto!
Una volta lì, a sinistra, sull'argine di sinistra, camminare guardando a destra finché non si intravede il sentiero sull'argine di destra! Guadare il fiume, prendere il sentiero....e il gioco è fatto!!!

Outside of Rome on the way to Tuscany is Viterbo. Dating back to the Etruscan era, it is surrounded by Medieval Walls. One of most famous were the thermal springs known as the Bulicame, or bubbling place, whose reputation had even reached the ears of the exiled poet Dante Aligheri, who describers in the Inferno:
In silence we had reached a place where flowed
a slender watercourse out of the wood—a stream
whose redness makes me shudder still.
As from the Bulicame pours a brook whose
waters are then shared by prostitutes, so did this
stream run down across the sand.
Viterbo's historic center is one of the best preserved medieval towns of central Italy. Many of the older buildings (particularly churches) are built on top of ancient ruins, recognizable by their large stones, 50 centimeters to a side. Viterbo is unique in Italy for its concentration of 'profferli', external staircases that were a frequent feature of medieval houses.
