A must-visit as well are the white sand beaches and majestical waterfalls of Bolinao. Regarded as the Bangus (milkfish) Capital of the World, you shouldn't miss out on Pangasinan's Bangus Festival held annually in Dagupan City where locals dance on the streets in vibrant costumes and tourists can feast on bangus dishes. Filipino Food Market in CALASIAO PANGASINAN | Visiting CALASIAO's FAMOUS RICE CAKE STALLS & PALENGKE

Filipino Food Market in CALASIAO PANGASINAN | Visiting the Famous CALASIAO PUTO STALLS & PALENGKE!

We were supposed to be filming at the Calasiao market on a market day which is held every Mondays and Thursdays of every week, unfortunately, we didnt make it on time so we were only able to film the Calasiao's puto stalls and its public market.

Anyway, make sure to try Calasiao's famous puto when stopping by or visiting there. Calasiao is well known for its bite-sized, sticky white rice cake which is popularly known as the Puto Calasiao. This also comes in different flavors such as ube, strawberry, mango etc. You'll find several stalls of the famous native rice cake at Calasiao's town plaza which is located just near its public market.

THE MONARCH HOTEL - Calasiao, Pangasinan, Philippines. (BUYING THE BEST PUTO IN CALASIAO IS A MUST!)

The Monarch Hotel in Calasiao, Pangasinan, Philippines is the only 5-star luxury hotel in the Pangasinan province. A must is to buy fresh puto in Calasiao (the best!) at the palengke!

The hotel staff and hospitality is wonderful and the hotel is immaculate. However, we thought the wifi connection was a little weak.

There is 24/7 manned parking lot security. If it's very sunny (hot) or rainy, guards walk you to your car with an umbrella, help guide you when parking and backing out your car in the parking stall, and if they're not super busy, they'll even open the car door for you, too!

They have a breakfast buffet on weekends (Fridays-Sundays). Prior to reserving a room online, you have a choice of selecting a room with or without the daily breakfast buffet and pay the appropriate rate per night. If you choose the non-breakfast rate as we did, should you decide to have a breakfast or two, the cost is nominal and will be charged to your room. From Mondays-Thursdays, dinner is a la carte, and on weekends, it is a dinner buffet.

Upon check in, the hotel requires a security deposit per night for all nights, up front during the first day of your stay (i.e., laundry service, room service, meals, other incidentals) and any unused amount will be refunded to your credit card a few days after you checkout.
