Cable Car in Gabala is a highlight of the city. Divided into four levels, you can have an enjoyable experience with really nice views of the city.
The cable car goes upto 1600-1900 meters.
Duration-2 to 3 hours
We went in spring but the place is a popular ski resort when there's snow.
We also stop at some beautiful sights along the road, to take pictures - just like you would also do, when travelling by yourself.

THE BEST WINTER ACTIVITIES IN SHAHDAG MOUNTAIN | QUSAR, AZERBAIJAN
The Shahdag Mountain Resort Complex (Şahdağ Turizm Merkezi) opened to the public in 2012. It is located in the Azerbaijan's Greater Caucasus range, the site is located near Shahdag National Park, which is known for having an intact ecological system and an untouched flora and fauna.
It is the first and largest ski resort in Azerbaijan. Plans for the project include 10-12 3 star hotels, golf-clubs, 160-180 cottages, Aqua Park and other objects (places for the living of employees, car parks, workshops for technical works etc.) in the complex.

It is a special day today as it's HARRY'S 10TH BIRTHDAY! And it was definitely a different kind of birthday to remember as we had an adventurous day taking a bus from Baku, Azerbaijan to Sheki.
We had a few hiccups with missing the bus and trying to decide between a coach bus or marshrutka; so you'll have to watch and see what happened!

Azerbaijan Trip - Gobustan & Mud Volcanoes. Ancient wonders near Baku
Hello friends!
Our Azerbaijan trip continues and today we went on a day trip near Baku. Our friendly guide showed us the two ancient wonders of Azerbaijan.
The Gobustan caves - they are one of the earliest human settlements and an ancient site of cave drawings. We went there and felt totally in awe about what we saw. It was revelation to imagine how our ancestors lived without modern technology and means that we are used to.
There's a beautiful museum with display items and from there you can take a guide to the actual caves themselves and see the rock carvings in person. It's a must do thing if you go to Azerbaijan.
The second place we visited this day was a site of Mud Volcanoes. Azerbaijan is one of the few locations in the world where you can actual mud volcanoes. These volcanoes are made of mud, water, gas and fire!
This was truly a rare and unearthly spectacle. Cannot be missed.

This video is about our visit to Azerbaijan AND This restaurant is in shirvansha Hotel. I posted a detailed video about this hotel in my previous video. If you want to check out the special delicacies here please click here & you can watch. We met one of my friends Sumi and family from Dubai in this hotel. So this video is about our beautiful memories of travelling to Gabala from Baku.
We check out from Shirvansha hotel and started our journey with our tour guide and driver Mr.Hussan. I have already shown you that the hotel is in the old city.
These are some school kids we saw on the way in the old Baku city.
Hassan has downloaded some nice Indian songs for us to enjoy on the way.
During all my travel what I like most is to know more about the local culture, people and local food than only the tourist places.
I understood from many interactions that Azerbaijanians are big FANS of Indian music and Indian Cinemas.
One more interesting thing is that, throughout our journey to Gabala, the weather kept on changing from sunny to foggy, foggy to rainy and rainy to sunny etc. It was a fun travel
So on one trip, we could experience different climatic conditions in Azerbaijan!
So now, you might be wanting to know How far is Gabala from Baku? How long does it take to travel from Baku to Gabala? What are the various ways to get to Gabala from Baku?
The driving distance from Baku (GYD) to Gabala 254 kilometres and the travel time by car, bus and train is approximately about 3 hours 30 minutes.
There are 4 ways to travel to Gabala from Baku. They are :
You can go by train, taxi, bus, or by car.
The quickest way to get from Baku to Gabala is to take a taxi which costs 65 - 80 Manat.
The manat is the currency of Azerbaijan. Approximately .5 USD = 1 Manat

Ismayilli is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. One of the orders of Ismayilli is QABALA. This place has beautiful countryside with lush green forests and they produce some of Azerbaijan’s best honey, dairy produce and wine.
Mr.Hassan took us to one of the famous honey houses on our way back to BAKU after 2 days. I will show those in detail in my upcoming videos. Please subscribe to my channel and click the bell button to get a notification once I upload the new video.
The ride through the trees was breathtaking.
However, in another 15 minutes of travel, the weather changed and started to drizzle. On the way, we stopped at the roadside to buy some steamed corn topped with salt.
I have a recommendation on the option to select for travelling to Gabala from Baku. I RECOMMEND you book a private car with a driver so that you can relax and enjoy nature on the way while stopping at the places you feel like to take some fresh breath, take pictures and videos etc.
Now we are in Gabala. Our plan was to visit Yeddi Gozel Waterfall. On the way, it was heavy rain as u can see in the video.
While we waited for lunch to serve, we got the drink called Compote which I am drinking now. It is made by cooking fruits, especially berries with sugar and water and is very delicious and refreshing. This is a must-try drink from Azerbaijan.
These are salt, and black pepper & the red one is Sumac which has a pleasant tangy taste with a hint of citrus fruitiness. Sumac is used as a spice rub, marinades and dressings in Azerbaijanian cousine.
Usually, in all restaurants in Azerbaijan, they serve this complimentary bread as a starter.
This is grilled river fish, I put some Sumac on top of the fish. This is a lamp chop called Antikot in Azerbaijanian.This is village Qutabi which is a kind of meat-stuffed bread. This is called Soyutma, which is a soup made of sheep meat
Even though it was raining as per Hassan’s prediction that the rain will subside when we reach Qafqaz Tufandag Mountain where the riverside cable car ride is.
Gabala Cable Car is a highlight of the city. The ride is Divided into 4 parts, you can have an enjoyable experience with really nice views and there are places to relax with tea, ice cream and some snacks.
The cable car goes up to 1600-1900 meters. We went in summer but apparently, the place is a popular ski resort when there's snow.
When we reached the last station on top, it was really cloudy and foggy.
After the cable car ride, we went to our hotel as it was already 6.30. We stayed at GABALA GARDEN HOTEL.

Nohur Lake is one of the most popular and visited natural attractions of Gabala, Azerbaijan. Located about 5 km. east of Gabala city, the lake is surrounded by forests and high mountains called Yumru, Goydag and Gulluburun. The lake covers 240 ha in total and has a maximum depth of 24 meters. Nohur Lake is very popular in Gabala for tourists all year long.
