The Church of Our Lady (Dutch: Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk) in Bruges, Belgium, dates mainly from the 13th, 14th and 15th centuries. Its tower, at 115.6 metres (379 ft) in height, remains the tallest structure in the city and the third tallest brickwork tower in the world (after St. Mary's Church in Lübeck and St. Martin's Church in Landshut, both in Germany).

In the 15th century Mechelen came under the rule of the Dukes of Burgundy which started the most prosperous period in its history. Majority of the citizens produced & traded cloth to earn for a living. In that period the city of Mechelen grew strong and beautiful. Today we can all benefit from the magnificent effort of Mechelen's citizens & admire this medieval city's architecture and rich history.
