Brushy Creek Lake Park ➡ Beginning of Brushy Creek Regional Trail | Cedar Park, TX
In this video I start from Brushy Creek Lake Park and end at the beginning of the Brushy Creek Regional Trail. It is 4.5 miles one way so it's definitely a good size to get a good workout. I always love going to this park and the atmosphere is very laid back. Cedar Park is one of my favorite Austin suburbs and this park plays a large role in that!
Brushy Creek State Recreation Area ???? ???? ????
This 6,500 acre recreation area is located near the town of Lehigh, Iowa, southeast of Fort Dodge and is just east of Dolliver Memorial State Park. In addition to a lake there are lots of trails and a large beach area. A dedicated equestrian campground was getting some use the day we were there. Because of the newness of the park, the facilities all look nice and modern but there isn't a lot of shade at the campground as the trees are all still fairly young. We did see a lot of wild parsnip here so we were careful to stay on the trails, but it's all over Iowa at this point. All in all, this seemed like a nice but underutilized recreation area.

The end of June 2022 found me wondering around in the east Texas piney woods and camping at Lake O' The Pines campground Brushy Creek. Man was I surprised and impressed with this beautiful U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers campground!
Brushy Creek Campground has several notable points! The most impressive is the beautiful and so very tall pine trees! The second is the serene waters of Lake O' The Pines. The whole camping experience at Brushy Creek Campground is a true delight!
What ever your camping style weather it is in a tent or RV there is a great campsite just for you at Brushy Creek campground on Lake O The Pines! Come along with me as I explore Brushy Creek campground and let me show you all of the STUFF!

My wife and I took a week off and traveled 3 and half hours to Jefferson, Texas. There we enjoyed a respite for the boring Fort Worth 'burbs.

Brushy Creek State Rec Area
I rode over to the Park to check it out. The camping area is new and has little to no shade because the trees are young. The beach however is really nice and worth visiting, so I took a video of the beach only.
