In this video tour, we show you the stunning Great Falls Park in Virginia, an 800-acre park only 15 miles from Washington, DC. Great Falls Park in Virginia offers majestic waterfalls, fifteen miles of hiking trails, and beautiful views of the Potomac River and Mather Gorge.
Hiking at Great Falls Park offers something for everyone. There are three spacious waterfall lookouts, two of which are wheelchair-accessible. Some of the prettiest northern Virginia hikes can be found here.

Herndon is a town in Fairfax County, Virginia, in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area of the United States. The population was 23,292 at the 2010 census. In 2020, the population was estimated to be 24,532, which makes it the largest of three incorporated towns in the county.
The actual dimensions of the town of Herndon are fairly small. The Most Scenic Trail In Maryland! - The Billy Goat Trail and Great Falls of the Potomac
DO THIS HIKE! Located just outside of Washington DC, exists the most popular trail in Maryland, and for good reason. Here you have the third most powerful waterfall in the United States, leading into a sheer rocky gorge as the Potomac River crashes over the fall line on its way to the Chesapeake Bay. River Islands thrust out from the water like miniature mountains, speckled with grizzled pines that seem to grow out of bare rock. The area teams with bird species of all types and unique flora and fauna. The setting felt utterly out of place in Eastern Maryland and more attuned to a western landscape. Just downstream of the Great Falls begins the Billy Goat Trail which hugs the rivers edge, weaving up, over, and around ancient weathered boulders. Seasonal vernal pools hotbeds of amphibian life can be seen from the trail as well as many wildflowers and unique plant species. This trail has it all. Views, wildlife, unique ecosystem, and ease of accessibility. As a result the trail is VERY popular. This trail is considered a rock scramble with one technical section - the traverse - but is certainly manageable for even the fairly inexperienced hiker. I simply LOVED this trail and look forward to seeing it again during a different season.

Jaywick Essex Walkabout one of the UK`s most deprived areas
Jaywick was originally a holiday resort for Londoners but fell into decline when foreign travel took off from the 60`s onwards. The UK has always has a chronic housing shortage so many of the holiday chalets were let out to people on low incomes. Many of the chalets do not meet modern housing standards and when this occurs Social Issues arise. Government money to the area is slow in coming and poor quality standards are also blamed on chalet landlords who simply have no interest in the upkeep of their properties.
