In this video, we’re taking a look at some of the best of what Atlantic City has to offer. We talk about the world-famous Atlantic City Boardwalk, which is probably as famous as the city itself. It’s an amazing structure, full of carnival rides, games, tasty snacks and food, bars, and everything else you could want from a Boardwalk. Not to mention it sits right on the gorgeous beaches of the Atlantic ocean. Lifestyle is Key: Brigantine, New Jersey | Episode 6. Rest, Relaxation, & Enjoyment

If I had to choose one beach in South Jersey that is my ultimate favorite, it would be Brigantine. In my early 20’s, I discovered Brigantine and instantly fell in love with it. And not for some of the reasons you may think.

I was a younger mom and simply wanted 2 things: A. To take my children to a clean beach and B. Because I was on a tight budget, not having all of the activities and a pier was pretty detrimental. So when the topic of conversation came up, I could respond to my kids, “Oh no honey…the Ferris wheel is all the way over there in Atlantic City, or let’s just enjoy the water and build sand castles, it would be true to the surroundings and “mom-desire.”

I know…**slap on the wrist–bad mom maybe?** I’d like to think more so along the lines of a young, smart mom on a budget.

Since then, Brigantine has been a family favorite. To me, it morphed from a shore where I can take my kids on a budget, to a shore where we can just go to relax, spend time with my family, and not have to spend all my money in 2 short hours.

To top it off, an extremely clean beach–in comparison to some other shores. Because the beach requires a beach tag/pass, it can be considered private. However, the passes are feasible. Just check it out right here:

Seasonal: $20 through the month of May/$25 starting June 1st
Daily: $10
Weekly: $15
Seniors (60-64): $8 ONLY DURING THE MONTH OF MAY/ $20 after May 31st
Senior over 65: Come in with identification for a free tag! You are only allowed 1 Beach Tag per Identification

When I tell you this town is really a great town with a clean beautiful beach, I think you should believe me or either check it out by taking a little ride and going yourself. There’s nothing like the experience for yourself.

Notes:
Brigantine Beach Tags can be purchased at the Brigantine Community Center, located at 265 42nd Street and is open from December through September. The Beach Fee Office can be reached by calling (609) 264-7350. If the beach is in operation you can purchase beach tags on the beach from the inspectors.

Wild Atlantic - New Jersey's Untamed Beach - North Brigantine State Natural Area

Nestled amongst the most crowded and developed coast line in the nation, North Brigantine State Natural Area, is a relic of what once was. Here one can explore 2.5 delightful miles of undeveloped and natural mid atlantic barrier island beaches, that feel nearly untouched by man. This wild shore is home to many species of birds, mammals, plants, and sea creatures. In my short time walking the coastline I came across atlantic bottlenose dolphin, northern diamondback terrapin, a plethora of beautiful seashells and hundreds of shore birds. The natural area is easily accessed at the northern end of the city of Brigantine- simply park, and head north along the beach for a unique hike sandwiched between crashing waves, and impenetrable maritime dunes. Along the way the remnants of a circa 1800's life saving station can be seen. The structure was destroyed by storms, lost to the ocean, and then years later recovered by more storms. Up till this point, a limited number of vehicles are permitted access on the beach, but once you cross beyond this point, it is foot traffic only. The beach becomes increasingly wild and beautiful as you continue north, and one can feel a true sense of isolation at this end of the island. Eventually, you will reach the inlet marking the terminus of how far one can travel on foot...In my quest to find the most beautiful, rare, and unique natural areas - to film them, to feel them, to embrace them, this amazing place certainly ranks high on the list. Come along for an adventure along the Wild Atlantic at North Brigantine State Natural Area...
