We thought we had struck gold when we stopped at the Meandarra rest area for lunch, a small rural town between Tara and Surat. We were simply blown away with the great amenities/facilities and discovered the BEST camp area directly across the road. A 3-night stay went without question, especially when we found out it only cost $10 for 3 nights and that even included power & water (if you get in early enough). Right on the beautiful Brigalow Creek and just a stone’s throw away from great amenities/facilities and the main street of town.
The highlight of our stay was our visit to the Meandarra ANZAC Memorial Museum … ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! An internationally recognised museum that displays a comprehensive collection of military artifacts and memorabilia - the showcase piece being the elevated Canberra Bomber!
Time to hit the road!
