Grindsted - A Traffical Centre
Between 1914 and 1919 Grindsted turned into a dynamic town with railways in six directions, an impressive station building, three platforms connected by subways, warehouses, a roundhouse, a water tower and a turntable. Covering approx. 140,000 square metres Grindsted had the 3rd biggest station area in Denmark.
The Birth of Grindsted
Due to the railways, Grindsted changed from being a village on the moor to a fast growing town with big industrial companies, asphalt roads, shops selling all kinds of articles, several grocery shops and a petrol pump on practically each street corner. The town grew from a little more than a few hundred people to thousands.
The Railways
The Danish State built the line between Langa and Bramming. The rest were private railways. The station building was finished on 1-Dec 1916. The architect was Prof. H. Wenck, who also designed the Copenhagen Central Station.

The Closing Down
Between 1957 and 1972 the railway lines closed down one by one. The state line continued to carry goods until the mid 80s, and up to 2012 goods have been transported to Grindstedværket (a chemical factory). The rails between Grindsted and Bramming were officially closed down in 2014.

VANDRETUR: Den Skæve Bane, Brande - Funder (Silkeborg), 36,2 km (video med rute og billeder)
Flot stod kartoffelmarkerne denne skønne junidag, hvor jeg gik fra Brande Station til den gamle station i Funder ved Silkeborg.
Jeg fulgte en del af Den Skæve Bane-stien, som diagonal-jernbanen fra Esbjerg/Bramming til Langå/Randers bliver kaldt. Nedlagt og i dag en udmærket sti til at vandre eller cykle. 36 km, hvoraf de første 5 km var ad fortorv og i vejkanten, da jernbanetraceet lige nord for Brande er fjernet.
Skøn tur på en skøn dag. Langs DenSkæveBane er nogle af de gamle stationsbygninger i dag privatboliger og flot renoveret. Som i Christianshede, hvor de har bibeholdt perronkanten som en del af haven.

Herning
herning, Jutland (Jylland) is a town in central Denmark. Herning is usually a favorite place for those who want to visit just for herning. Most of the tourists are usually visitors to Herning MHM Messecenter. Herning tours are usually one-day.
Messecenter is visited by an average of 1 million tourists each year. The center is mainly ideal for shopping malls, exhibitions, conferences. However, in recent years, more cultural and sporting walks are prevalent. The main reason for this is the opening of the MCH arena. In 2009, the arena opened an outdoor center with a capacity of 50,000 people. Before coming to Herning, tourists get acquainted with all the events and concert programs.
At the same time, the Herning Museum covers the stages of silk production from today to the present day. this museum also has historical clothing accessories. There is also a Danish photo museum in the settlement. The museum is very popular among tourists.
For art lovers, the HEART Herning Museum of Modern Art, the Carl Henning Pederson Museum and the Ese Alfelts Museum are some of the most visited museums in the region.
Herning also owns three magnificent buildings built by Danish architect Jorn Utzon.

History:
In the Middle Ages, Herning was a small village known as Horning. Later, until 1668, Herning consisted of nine farms built around a church. 4. Herning Church - The church was built in 1889 in the style of the novel. The church is important not only for Herning, but also for tourists.
5. Herning Museum - the building was built in 3 parts. The museum reflects the way of life from the Stone Age to the present day. At the same time, scenes and exhibits reflecting the ancient way of life of the Danish people are displayed.

Geography[edit]
The town is situated in the middle of Jutland. The town is situated 5 km from Hammerum, which is the Eastern outskirts of Herning Municipality. Ikast is situated 28 km from Silkeborg, and 69 km away from Aarhus.
Demography[edit]
As of 1 January 2017, the population of the town is 15,462.[1]
History[edit]
Up until late in the nineteenth century, Ikast was nothing more than a few buildings surrounding the church. During the industrialization, Ikast established a strong presence in Denmark as one of the main towns for the textile industry, which was the main industry in the area until the start of globalization, where production jobs were outsourced.
The opening of the railway in the 1850s led to an increase in population, as the existing part of town surrounding the church, and the new part of town, built around the railway, grew into each other.[2]
The church was originally a Roman church, built in the 13th century. The old church burned down in 1904, and was rebuilt into the new church, which was finished in 1907. The church was expanded several times, with the latest expansion happening in 2005.[3]

Frederikssund, A small cozy city in Denmark
#Frederikssund is a #Danish #town, seat of the Frederikssund Municipality, in the Region #Hovedstaden with a population of 16,614. It received the status of market town in 1810. The town is famous for its annual #Viking #Games as well as for the J.F. Willumsen museum.
The recent #development of the town #center and the #old #commercial #harbour have given Frederikssund a new look which reflects its growing popularity as a residential area with connections to #Copenhagen and surroundings. - Le château de Rosenborg: Son L'histoire remonte à l'année 1606, lorsque Christian IV de Danemark acheta des terrains situés devant les murs du nord-est et fit aménager un jardin d'agrément (Kongens Have). Dans ce jardin fut ensuite construite une maison d'été de deux étages, terminée en 1607. Entre 1613 et 1615, l'aile nord de# Rosenborg fut construite et entre 1616 et 1624 un troisième étage et trois tours furent ajoutés. À partir de ce moment Christian IV appela son château Rosenborg. Avec la tour construite par l'architecte du roi Hans van Steenwinckel en 1634 sur la façade orientale, a été finalement atteinte la forme actuelle. Avec ses briques rouges, ses décorations de grès gris, ses pignons à volutes et ses proportions minces, le château de Rosenborg possède les traits architecturaux caractéristiques du style flamand et néerlandais de la Renaissance. Rosenborg a été utilisé comme résidence royale danoise jusqu'en 1710 lorsque Frédéric IV construisit un château plus spacieux à Fredensborg. Y sont conservés, entre autres, les joyaux de la couronne danoise de la période comprise entre le XVIe et le XIXe siècle. Le château est aujourd’hui une propriété de l’État. Le château attire environ 200 000 touristes chaque année grâce à sa position centrale dans la capitale de Copenhague. Le jardin attire quant à lui 2,5 millions de visiteurs chaque année. Située au troisième étage, le Long Hall a été achevé en 1624. Il était à l'origine destiné à être un salle de bal. Vers 1700, il servait de salle de réception royale et de banquet. Ce n'est que dans la deuxième moitié du XIXe siècle qu'elle devin connue sous le nom de Salle des Chevaliers. Christian V fit moderniser la salle en partie avec douze tapisseries illustrant les victoires du roi dans la guerre de Scanian (1675-1679). Le plafond en stuc vu aujourd'hui est du début XVIIIe siècle. Il montre les armoires danoises entourées des ordres de l'éléphant et de Dannebrog. Les reliefs latéraux représentent des événements historiques des premières années du règne de Frederik IV, y compris la libération des serfs, la fondation des dragons et de la milice terrestre parmi eux. Les fresques du plafond de Hendrick Krock représentent la Regalia.
- #Marmorkirken: C'une église située dans le quartier de Frederiksstaden. L'église possède une dôme de 31 mètres de diamètre. Elle a été conçue par Nicolai Eigtved en 1740 avec le reste du quartier de Frederiksstaden. La première pierre a été posée en 1749 par Frédéric V de Danemark, mais le chantier est arrêté par Johann Friedrich Struensee. Elle reste alors inachevée pendant 150 ans. Elle est finalement achevée par Ferdinand Meldahl avec les financements de Carl Frederik Tietgen, en étant inaugurée le 19 août 1894. Nous pouvons également lire en lettres d'or sur le portique avant de l'église herrens ord cliver evindelig qui signifie en danois Les mots du seigneur demeurent pour toujours.
- Le palais d’ #Amalienborg est la résidence d’hiver de la famille royale de Danemark. Il est constitué de quatre demeures aux façades néo-classiques identiques et aux intérieurs rococo. Les quatre bâtiments entourent une place octogonale (Amalienborg Slotsplads) qui possède en son centre une monumentale statue équestre du fondateur d’Amalienborg, le roi Frédéric V de Danemark.
- Le château de #Christiansborg, surnommé « #Borgen », est le siège du Parlement danois, le Folketing, du ministère d'État et de la Cour suprême. Il est situé sur l'île de Slotsholmen au centre de Copenhague. La famille royale occupe encore plusieurs parties de ce château qui fut la résidence principale du roi jusqu'en 1794. Le château fut incendié et reconstruit à deux reprises, et les quelques pièces sauvées des incendies côtoient celles de la dernière campagne de construction : les bâtiments regroupés autour du carrousel appartiennent au premier Christiansborg. Il en va de même pour le musée Thorvaldsen qui occupe l'ancienne remise des carrosses royaux, remaniée par Michael Gottlieb Bindesbøll. Le seul bâtiment intact provenant du second Christiansborg est la Slotskirke, l'église du château.
