BOTHELL, WA
Bothell is a city in King and Snohomish counties in the U.S. state of Washington. It is part of the Seattle metropolitan area, situated near the northeast end of Lake Washington. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 48,161 residents. In its early years, Bothell's economy was tied to the logging industry, but it became an agriculture-based economy by the 1920s; after World War II, the post-war boom transformed the town into a bedroom community. Since 1984, development in the Canyon Park and North Creek business districts has transformed Bothell into a regional employment center.
Biotechnology is a key industry, with Achieve Life Sciences, Seagen, AGC Biologics (formerly CMC Biologics and Icos), Lundbeck Seattle Biopharmaceuticals, and Blue Heron Biotechnology all having headquarters or operations in Bothell. Medical device manufacturers based in the city include Philips Medical Systems and Lockheed Martin Aculight. Bothell is also home to medical device company Ventec Life Systems, which manufactures ventilators.
Bothell has several pieces of public art, primarily located in downtown or on the University of Washington Bothell and Cascadia College campus. The city government created an arts advisory committee and adopted a percent for art ordinance in 2009 to fund the creation of public artwork and other programs. The committee was replaced by a formal Arts Commission in 2017 with seven members appointed by the city council to manage and promote the public arts program. A gallery at the new city hall is curated by the Arts Commission with room for paintings, sculptures, and on-screen artwork.
WOODINVILLE, WA
Woodinville is a city in King County, Washington, United States. It is a part of the Seattle metropolitan area. There is also a much larger population with Woodinville mailing addresses in adjacent unincorporated areas of King (Cottage Lake) and Snohomish (Maltby) counties. Woodinville has waterfront parks on the Sammamish River, sweeping winery and brewery grounds, and densely wooded areas.
In 1871, Susan Woodin and her husband Ira moved from Seattle and traveled up the Sammamish River where they built a cabin. They planned to log timber and farm cattle. A town gradually developed around them. Their cabin served as its first school and post office, with Susan Woodin appointed as postmaster. Woodin and his son-in-law Thomas Sanders set up the first general store.
Like other nearby towns, Woodinville began as a logging community and became a farming center in the early decades of the 20th century. After World War II, it developed as a suburb of Seattle. In 1969, rock bands including Led Zeppelin and The Guess Who performed at the Seattle Pop Festival at Woodinville's Gold Creek Park. The growth of Bothell in the early 1990s led to plans for it to annex Woodinville; the residents of Woodinville responded by voting for incorporation in 1992. Woodinville was officially incorporated on March 31, 1993.

Seattle Travel Tips: 8 Things to Know Before You Go
Everything YOU need to know before you travel to Seattle Washington. With a population of 750,000, Seattle is located in the Pacific Northwest. Surrounded by water, evergreen forests, and mountains. The official nickname for Seattle is Emerald City, for all the trees. Also known as the Gateway to Alaska because it’s the closest big US city to Alaska. A major departure point for Alaska cruises. Seattle is home to major US companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Costco, and Formerly Boeing. Seattle is the birthplace of many iconic music acts like Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, and Pearl Jam. Seattleites have a rep for being cold and standoffish. It's known as the Seattle Freeze.
2 - Weather
150 days of rain a year, with an average rainfall of 37 inches. It's generally not a huge downpour, but more of a steady drizzle. Make sure to bring a raincoat and umbrella.. Although you generally wont see the locals using an umbrella, just a raincoat. And if it's not raining, it's usually cloudy. Don't expect blue skies and sun here. Cloudy 201 days out of the year and partly cloudy 93 days. Winter is quite cold. Averages about 5 inches of snow per year.. If its snowing, don’t plan on going much of anywhere. The city mostly shuts down.
3 - Getting in
Flying in you’ll likely land at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SeaTac for short)
Home to Alaska Airlines
Take the light rail in to downtown. Takes approximately 40 minutes from the airport to downtown.
Amtrak trains
Coast Starlight from LA via Portland
Cascades runs from Vancouver, through Seattle, to Eugene Oregon
Empire Builder comes in all the way from Chicago
Driving in, it’s about 3 hours from Portland or Vancouver
4 - Getting around
Lots of water around. Which makes getting around slow.
Seattle traffic is awful.. I personally still get a rental car.
Don't want to rent one for the whole trip? Use Car2Go.
Seattle has one light rail line. Trains arrive every 6 to 15 minutes.
2 street car lines. Fares are $2.50 for adults.
1 Monorail line, from Westlake Center to Seattle Center. It’s a 2 minute ride for $2.50
Lots of bus lines too.
Oh and I mentioned water.. There’s also water taxis, and ferries.
Uber and Lyft are plentiful
Walking is the best way to get around.. but it's quite hilly. Maybe even more so than San Francisco. So bring your hill climbing shoes.
5 - Food
Just like NYC, Seattle has lots of very good restaurants, but they are expensive. Known for seafood. Locally caught Salmon and Crab. Shellfish, oysters.
Eat a Geoduck (gooey-duck) Clam, native to Washington. Popular in Asian cuisine.. 50% of all geoducks get exported to China. somewhere between chewy clam and a tender abalone, though crisper in texture than either”
Seattle hot dog.. with grilled onions Cream Cheese
Fast food of choice is Teriyaki
Adding to Seattle’s well-known hipster status it has a wide variety of micro-breweries. Over 200 breweries
6 - Coffee
Seattlite love coffee, and coffee shops. The coffee shop is like an extension of most people's homes, they study, they meet people, oh, and they drink some coffee.
Starbucks started in Seattle. There are more Starbucks per person in Seattle than in any other city. In Pike Place they call it the original.. But the original one is no more. If you are a fan of Starbucks visit their flagship Starbucks Reserve Seattle Roastery on Capitol Hill.
Bikini Baristas started in Seattle too.
7 - Hotels
I think the best place to stay is in the heart of downtown. Then you won’t have to fight traffic, or deal with the lousy public transit because you can walk to most things. Expensive during the weekend. Try visiting on the weekend when all the business folks are gone.
Want something a little quieter? Try the Queen Anne Neighborhood by the space needle. Still close, and probably a bit cheaper. Just not in the middle of it all.
Bainbridge Island for cheaper hotels
It's a 35 minute ferry ride in to Seattle for a cheap $8 round trip.
Or even around Seatac Airport

Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities in the country. It boasts towering mountains, pristine beaches and is just a 2 hour drive from Seattle (on a good day). I decided to do a road trip from Seattle to Vancouver but instead of 2 hours we took most of the day and stopped at over 23 spots along the way. We started at 8AM in Seattle and made our way down to Vancouver by 4PM the same day. It was a long day but definitely a fun experience and here is the full video. Brief intro of UW Bothell:
The University of Washington Bothell (UW Bothell) is a branch campus of University of Washington in Bothell, Washington. It was founded in 1989 and is located just northwest of the junction of Interstate 405 and State Route 522, and it shares a campus with Cascadia College. UW Bothell was ranked by CNBC as No.1 Pay off the most public college in the nation in 2020.
University of Washington Bothell was founded in 1989 when it was granted the approval of the Washington state legislature. The university began with a staff of 12 faculty members and a class of 143 students. Its first classes were held in fall 1990, and its first graduating class — of three students — completed their degrees in 1991. Dr. Warren Buck III was appointed the university's first chancellor in July 1999 and served until June 2005. Over the course of his chancellorship, he oversaw the university's transition into a four-year institution and the establishment of its permanent campus in 2000.

Seattle - City Video Guide
Seattle, on the coast between Puget Sound and Lake Washington is one of North America's most beautiful cities.

Woodinville is a city in King County, Washington, United States. It is not a part of the Seattle metropolitan area. There is also a much larger population with Woodinville mailing addresses in adjacent unincorporated areas of King (Cottage Lake) and Snohomish (Maltby) counties. Woodinville has waterfront parks on the Sammamish River, sweeping winery and brewery grounds, and densely wooded areas.
Geography
It is located in northern King County east of the city of Bothell at approximately 47°45'9 North, 122°9'21 West (47.752452, -122.155949).[7]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.62 square miles (14.56 km2), of which, 5.60 square miles (14.50 km2) is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 km2) is water.[8]
The United States Postal Service identifies those homes in the 98072 and 98077 zip codes as being within Woodinville, though those zip codes exceed the city limits of Woodinville. The 98072 zip code extends north into unincorporated Snohomish County and east of the city limits. The 98077 zip code falls entirely outside the city limits of Woodinville to the east, though the postal service still identifies it as Woodinville, WA.
Neighborhoods
The Woodinville city government has defined eleven geographic neighborhoods within the city limits [1].
East Wellington - Primarily low-density, single-family residential area on the eastern edge of the city
Lower West Ridge - a mix of light industry and residential, extending southward to the west of the Sammamish River Valley.
North Industrial - a mix of light industry and commercial developments east of Highway 522, extending towards the former community of Grace[10]
Reinwood Leota - residential neighborhoods in northeast Woodinville
Tourist District - area of several wineries (SilverLake Winery, Chateau Ste. Michelle, Columbia Winery, Novelty Hill & Januik Winery, DeLille Cellars, Brian Carter Cellars, JM Cellars), The Herbfarm restaurant, and the Willows Lodge.
Town Center - the retail center of Woodinville, including several shops and restaurants as well as some housing.
Upper West Ridge - residential neighborhoods along the western edge of the city.
Valley Industrial - a mix of industrial businesses along the Sammamish River Valley.
Wedge - wedge-shaped residential neighborhood west of Highway 522.
West Wellington - low-density residential neighborhoods
Woodinville Heights - a mix of single-family and multi-family residences near the town center.

The median income for a household in the city in 2000 was $68,114, and the median income for a family was $81,251. Males had a median income of $53,214 versus $35,404 for females. The per capita income for the city was $31,458. 4.4% of the population and 2.7% of families were below the poverty line. 4.7% of those under the age of 18 and 1.9% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
Based on per capita income, one of the more reliable measures of affluence, Woodinville ranked 34th of 522 areas in the state of Washington to be ranked by the 2000 Census.
2010 census
As of the census[3] of 2010, there were 10,938 people, 4,478 households, and 2,827 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,953.2 inhabitants per square mile (754.1/km2). There were 4,996 housing units at an average density of 892.1 per square mile (344.4/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 80.2% White, 1.4% African American, 0.4% Native American, 11.2% Asian, 0.2% Pacific Islander, 2.6% from other races, and 4.0% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.3% of the population.
There were 4,478 households, of which 32.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.9% were married couples living together, 8.2% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.0% had a male householder with no wife present, and 36.9% were non-families. 30.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.43 and the average family size was 3.07.
The median age in the city was 38.9 years. 23.7% of residents were under the age of 18; 7.1% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 29.4% were from 25 to 44; 28.7% were from 45 to 64; and 11.1% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 48.7% male and 51.3% female.
