Alphen aan den Rijn is the capital of the area in the Netherlands better known as the Green Heart (Groene Hart). It is a green area halfway between Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The city of Alphen aan den Rijn has won an EU award for being the greenest city of Europe. The city has approximately 110,000 citizens and many green areas and parks. And the river Rhine cuts the city into two. Alphen aan den Rijn has many interesting architectural wonders like the new and the old city hall, the new library, Castellum theater and the protestant and Catholic Churches.

The purpose of our visit to The Hague is a visit to the Mauritshuis Museum which houses the most beautiful Dutch paintings from the Golden Age to the 17th century such as those by Rembrandt and Vermeer. Then, in Boskoop we embark for a pleasant walk on the canals between some of the nine hundred nurseries on the site. A stopover is welcome in Scheveningen, a district of The Hague on the shores of the North Sea. In the afternoon, we will discover the Japanese garden in Clingendael Park before reaching Rotterdam, the end of this four-day tour.

Boskoop is een plaats net boven Waddinxveen, dat net ten noordwesten van Gouda ligt. Een leuke plaats met bijvoorbeeld het boomkwekerij museum. Daarnaast is de Eeterij Het Keldertje een heel goed restaurant. Ik heb er zelf afgelopen zaterdag gegeten tijdens de lunch en het beviel erg goed.

We are DNF, geocachers and vanlifers!
We - GeoKars and GEOrgCACHING - were both geocachers travelling a lot with out motorhomes to (mega) geocaching events in Europe. That's how we met and became friends. It took us about half a year to become lovers and another half year to sell one of our RV's. Good example of your best friends are other geocachers, don't you think?
And of course we also needed a geocaching nickname together. So our mutual avatar was born: DNF. Why DNF? GEOrgCACHING is from Germany and GeoKars is from The Netherlands. For us DNF does not mean Did Not Find (the geocache), but Deutsch Niederländische Freundschaft which means German Dutch Friendship.

On Saturday, 15 October 2022, I rode my e-bike from Leiden to Boskoop and Waddinxveen. This stretch was filmed between Alphen aan Den Rijn and Boskoop.
Boskoop is a small town in the province of South Holland between Alphen aan Den Rijn and Gouda, near Waddinxveen.

De scheve Schoffel’ is prachtig gelegen tussen de
Boskoopse kwekerijen en ligt midden in het groene hart!
Er zijn 15 ruim opgezette camperplaatsen aanwezig. Deze zijn toegankelijk voor campers met een maximale lengte van 8 meter en een maximum gewicht van 4,25 ton. Dit vanwege de zachte veengrond in Boskoop.

Gouda - The Netherlands
Gouda is a Dutch city south of Amsterdam in the province of South Holland.
This city is world famous for its cheese and syrup waffles. Wander through narrow picturesque streets and discover interesting museums. Anchoring the square is the 15th-century town tall, a Gothic building with red and white shutters. Also on the square is the 17th-century Goudse Waag.
There is a Sint-Janskerk, historic church which also world-renowned for its Gouda glass.
