We would like to bring to your attention the winner tour in the nomination “The Best Military-Historical Route of Russia 2018”: Moscow Military Museums.
The idea of development of this route occurred due to the increased interest in Russia and the Russian army.
For this tour we have chosen the most interesting interactive objects, museums and exhibitions, where tourists can touch, hear and try what the Russian army of different eras is.
Group tours from 10 tourists.
The tour is in English, on request we can arrange a tour in other European languages.
The tour includes:
Transfer from and to the airport
Accommodation in double rooms in 4 star hotels. (on request we can offer 5 stars) with breakfast.
Arrival day: Arrival to Moscow, check-in at the hotel
Day 1: A short tour of the Moscow Metro
Excursion to the Bunker-42. A stronghold of resistance in the Cold War. The Bunker is 65 meters underground. You can see an imitation of a nuclear attack, as well as feel the anxiety and tension of a nuclear confrontation. We will visit Stalin’s office where you can take a picture.
Lunch. There is the most underground restaurant in Moscow in the Bunker-42, where tourists can try dishes from the menu of the Politburo of the USSR (lunch is not included in the price of the excursion and is paid separately $10-30)
The “Submarine” Museum
We will visit a real submarine, which was recently in service with the Northern fleet. A huge nine-meter submarine “Novosibirsky Komsomolets” was converted into a museum of the Russian submarine fleet and reveals all the secrets of the life of brave submariners. In addition to the submarine, the tour includes a visit to the landing boat.
Day 2:
The Memorial Museum on Poklonnaya Hill.
The world’s largest memorial complex dedicated to 26 million Soviet citizens who died in World War II.
Lunch at a fish restaurant (lunch is not included in the price of the excursion and is paid separately $20-30)
Exhibition of military equipment in the open air: a unique collection of all types of equipment from World War II. You can touch and climb many of the exhibits.
If you wish, you can visit the Church of Saint George, Memorial Mosque, Memorial Synagogue and Holocaust Museum
Day 3:
The Central Armed Forces Museum of the Russian Federation is the world’s largest military museum. More than 800,000 exhibits, banners, trophies, animation, prototypes.

Бородинское сражение (во французской версии — «сражение на Москве-реке», фр. Bataille de la Moskowa) — крупнейшее сражение Отечественной войны 1812 года между русской и французской армиями. Сражение состоялось 7 сентября (26 августа по старому стилю) 1812 года у села Бородино, расположенного в 125 километрах западнее Москвы.

Two days in Magnificent Moscow, Russia, visiting The Kremlin, the Red Square & Saint Basil Cathedral
Moscow was an eye-opener for us. This one definitely is one of the top places we recommend for you to see and enjoy. We braved the cold (Siberian winds are not to mess with!) and managed to visit a few iconic places in Moscow as part of our Trafalgar tour Capitals of the North:
- The Kremlin (official residence of the President)
- Red Square (central square of Moscow)
- Saint Basil Cathedral (built by Ivan the Terrible)
- Dormition Cathedral (mother church of Muscovite Russia)
- Lomonosov Moscow State University
- A few museums (War museum, Battle of Borodino with a 360deg painted canvas, Treasures of the Tsars)

Музей-панорама Бородинская битва посвящен Отечественной войне 1812 года. Центральным экспонатом музея является панорама - блестящий образец военно-исторической живописи начала XX в., посвященный одному из ключевых моментов российской истории - Бородинскому сражению.
Идея написания панорамы Бородино возникла в канун векового юбилея победы. Автором картины стал академик живописи Франц Рубо. Слово панорама в переводе с древнегреческого означает вижу вокруг. Панорама, сочетая живописное полотно, предметный план и особое освещение, обладает большой силой воздействия на зрителя. Длина панорамы Бородино по окружности 115 м, а высота составляет 15 м. Полотно представляет события, происходившие на поле битвы около полудня 26 августа (7 сентября) 1812 г. Художник показал разгар сражения, когда вся пехота, кавалерия и артиллерия дрались отчаянно (М.И. Кутузов).
Открытие панорамы состоялось в деревянном павильоне на Чистых прудах 29 августа 1912 г. К 1918 году здание пришло в негодность, и вторая жизнь панорамы началась только в 1962 году, когда к 150-летнему юбилею победы в Отечественной войне было сооружено новое здание на Кутузовском проспекте.
The panorama museum Battle of Borodino is dedicated to the Patriotic War of 1812. The central exhibit of the museum is a panorama - a brilliant example of military-historical painting of the beginning of the 20th century, dedicated to one of the key moments of Russian history - the Battle of Borodino.
The idea of writing a panorama of Borodino arose on the eve of the centennial of the victory. The author of the picture was academician of painting Franz Roubaud. The word panorama in translation from ancient Greek means I see around. The panorama, combining a picturesque canvas, a subject plan and special lighting, has great power of influence on the viewer. The Borodino panorama is 115 m long and 15 m high. The canvas represents the events that took place on the battlefield around noon on August 26 (September 7), 1812. The artist showed the height of the battle when “all the infantry, cavalry and artillery fought frantically (M.I. Kutuzov).

The 68th Life Borodino Infantry Regiment Emperor Alexander III - was an Infantry regiment of the Russian Imperial Army .
This prestigious regiment was formed in 1711 when two garrison regiments were formed: Orlov ( after Von Hagen) and Korobov. During the next few years the regiment was expanded and changed names on a couple of occasions. The association with Borodino goes back to August 26, 1836 when at the opening of the Monument to the Battle of Bododino, Tsarevich Alexander was appointed chief of the regiment and the regiment was renamed Borodino in celebration of the event.
On August 3, 1914 the 68th honourably defended Vladimir-Volyn from the Austro-Hungarian troops who were trying to seize the city, for which the regiment received the highest gratitude.
As far as I am able to ascertain, following the Revolution, the Regiment was disbanded in 1918....................
