Bern, the capital city of Switzerland, is built around a crook in the Aare River. It traces its origins back to the 12th century, with medieval architecture preserved in the Altstadt (Old Town). The Swiss Parliament and diplomats meet in the Neo-Renaissance Bundeshaus (Federal Palace). The Französische Kirche (French Church) and the nearby medieval tower known as the Zytglogge both date to the 13th century.

Auf dem 20 m hohen Aussichtsturm öffnet sich ein grandioses Panorama über das Mittelland, vom Jura bis zu den Alpen.

Die Hohwacht ist mit 780 m ü. M. der höchste Punkt im östlichen Oberaargau. Auf dem Aussichtsturm
(20 m) öffnet sich ein grandioses Panorama über das Mittelland, vom Jura bis zu den Alpen. Rundherum liegt dem stattlichen Hoger eine Landschaft zu Füssen, die mehr als nur eine Entdeckungsfahrt wert ist.

Bis 1798 war die Hohwacht auf dem Ghürn eine der wichtigen Höhenfeuer-Signalstationen; über die damaligen Hochwachten konnte Tag und Nacht mit Feuerzeichen innert 3 bis 4 Stunden im ganzen Kanton Alarm ausgelöst werden. Letztmals benutzt wurde das System 1798, als die französische Armee Bern angriff.

Der Aufstieg zur Hohwacht wird mit einer prächtigen Aussicht belohnt: das Aaretal, die Jurahöhen und die Alpen. Die Panoramatafel auf dem Aussichtsturm nennt 150 Gipfel.

Die Feuerstelle der Schweizer Familie befindet sich in der Waldlichtung etwas unterhalb des Aussichtsturms. Die Zufahrt mit Velo / Bike ist möglich. Mit PW bis 100 m an die Feuerstelle möglich.

Das Restaurant Waldhaus Hochwacht ist jeweils am Sonntag offen (Sonntags-Brunch Buffet) oder für Gruppen auf Anfrage nach Vereinbarung.

Switzerland, officially the Swiss Confederation, is a country situated in the confluence of Western, Central, and Southern Europe. Switzerland is a landlocked country bordered by Italy to the south, France to the west, Germany to the north, and Austria and Liechtenstein to the east. It is geographically divided among the Swiss Plateau, the Alps, and the Jura, spanning a total area of 41,285 km2 (15,940 sq mi), and land area of 39,997 km2 (15,443 sq mi). While the Alps occupy the greater part of the territory, the Swiss population of approximately 8.5 million is concentrated mostly on the plateau, where the largest cities and economic centres are located, among them Zürich, Geneva and Basel.The oldest traces of hominid existence in Switzerland date back about 150,000 years. The oldest known farming settlements in Switzerland, which were found at Gächlingen, have been dated to around 5300 BC. Known for its mountains, clocks, chocolate, cheese, and political neutrality, Switzerland’s picturesque alps are a storybook place to visit. Here are some of the top tourist attractions in Switzerland for tourists planning a Swiss trip.
Lucerne, located in the German-speaking section of Switzerland, is a city that has it all: city life, a lake and mountains. Considered one of the world’s prettiest cities.
Lake Lucerne (German: Vierwaldstättersee, literally Lake of the four forested settlements, is a lake in central Switzerland and the fourth largest in the country. The entire lake has a total area of 114 km² (44 sq mi) at an elevation of 434 m (1,424 ft) a.s.l., and a maximum depth of 214 m (702 ft). Its volume is 11.8 km³. Much of the shoreline rises steeply into mountains up to 1,500 m above the lake, resulting in many picturesque views including those of the mountains Rigi and Pilatus.
Lauterbrunnen is a village and a municipality in the Interlaken-Oberhasli administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. The municipality comprises the major Lauterbrunnen Valley, the Soustal, the Sefinental, the upper Lauterbrunnen Valley with Untersteinberg including several glaciers, such as the Tschingelfirn and the Rottalgletscher, many Alpine meadows and peaks, such as Schilthorn, Bietenhorn, Schwarzmönch, and Silberhorn, and finally the villages Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Mürren, Gimmelwald, Stechelberg, and Isenfluh, and several hamlets.
The Jungfraujoch is a col in the Bernese Alps accessible by railway, ending at Europe’s highest mountain station. Highlights include views of spectacular mountain summits like the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau, and views of the large Eiger Glacier that nestles below them. The Sphinx observatory, one of the highest astronomical sighting stations in the world, is located here as well.
Engelberg is an alpine town in central Switzerland. In the center is Kloster Engelberg, a 12th-century monastery. Trails weave up Mt. Titlis, and ski runs zigzag down, while revolving Titlis Rotair gondola lift leads to the summit, Titlis Cliff Walk suspension bridge and a glacial park. Trübsee, a glacial lake, lies nearby.
Titlis is a mountain of the Uri Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Obwalden and Bern. At 3,238 metres (10,623 ft) above sea level, it is the highest summit of the range north of the Susten Pass, between the Bernese Oberland and Central Switzerland. The 8-seater TITLIS Xpress cable car will transport you all the way up from Engelberg to Stand station. You can hop on or off at Trübsee middle station. The TITLIS ROTAIR cable car will then take you on the final leg of the ascent from Stand to the summit station at 3,020 metres above sea level. The journey from Engelberg to TITLIS mountain station takes around 30 minutes.
