Travel from Heemstede to Haarlem | Netherlands
Heemstede is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. Heemstede formed around the Castle Heemstede that was built overlooking the Spaarne River around 1286. Before 1296, Floris V, Count of Holland, granted Heemstede as a fiefdom to Reinier of Holy. During the 14th century, a village formed near the castle, which was destroyed and rebuilt several times in this period. A resident of this castle was Adriaan Pauw, who bought it in 1620. In 1653, Bennebroek split off from Heemstede, becoming a separate fiefdom.
Growth was slow, and in 1787 Heemstede counted 196 families. Even at that early date Heemstede had already gained the reputation it has today, of being primarily a bedroom community for the cities of Haarlem and Amsterdam. Wealthy city families left the cities in the summer, escaping canal fever which caused illness from the putrid canals. As a result, many estates were built in the 17th and 18th centuries, some of which (partially) remain until today such as Oud-Berkenroede, Berkenrode, Ipenrode, Huis te Manpad, Hartekamp, Bosbeek, Meer en Bosch, Meer en Berg, and Gliphoeve.
In 1857, the municipality Berkenrode was merged with Heemstede. In 1927, the northern portion of Heemstede, including a large part of the Haarlem Forest, was in turn added to the city of Haarlem.
Haarlem is a city outside of Amsterdam in the northwest Netherlands. Once a major North Sea trading port surrounded by a defensive wall, it retains its medieval character of cobblestone streets and gabled houses. It's the center of a major flower-bulb-growing district, and famous for its outlying tulip fields, art museums and hofjes (almshouses built around leafy courtyards).

I'm back with another, this time even nerdier video! The subject is archeology, but if you're not into that, maybe you will at least like the landscape and nature. This place is perfect to relax. Warning: In order to protect nature, it's not allowed to wander off the walking paths in the whole area. You will find signs at the entrances.
How to get here:
By a car - a small, free of charge parking place is right below the Tafelbergheide.
It's right here:
By public transport - take the train to either Naarden Bussum or Hilversum and then continue by bus. From Naarden Bussum take bus 109, From Hilversum 107 and your final stop will be Blaricum, Ziekenhuis Tergooi. From there you have to walk, the easiest is to follow Crailoseweg for about 20 minutes. Tafelbergheide will be on your right.
Bus station in Bussum is located on the right side next to the main entrance/exit of the station. Bus station in Hilversum is located on the left side of the main entrance/exit of the train station.

GROOTSTE EN DUURSTE HOTELSUITE VAN NEDERLAND BEKIJKEN MET GEPAST VERVOER
Met de 530 PK-sterke BMW M850i rijdt onze Floris in deze aflevering naar het prachtige 5-sterren Hotel Okura Amsterdam. Daar wordt hij ontvangen door de charmante Catharina de Boer van de afdeling marketing en communicatie. Zij geeft Floris een private tour door 3 van de mooiste hotelsuites, allemaal hoog gelegen in het iconische gebouw in de gezellige Amsterdamse Pijp. Ze beginnen bij de Royal Suite van 90 m2 en gaan daarna door naar Presidential Suite van maar liefst 150 m2. Beide suites zijn kortgeleden met zeer veel smaak verbouwd en zien er oprecht fantastisch uit. En vergeet ook het uitzicht niet, werkelijk fenomenaal. Floris vindt deze suites al helemaal Pure Luxe van het hoogste niveau maar wordt omver geblazen door door de Imperial Suite van maar liefst 485 m2. Twee etages van Pure Luxe waar de groten der aarde gelogeerd hebben. Je waant je hier de koning te rijk en voelt je direct een enorme beroemdheid. Twee enorme slaapvertrekken met dito badkamers, overal meerdere zitjes, een enorme eettafel, een keuken (vooral voor de butler die inclusief is), een privé bioscoop. Alles is aanwezig. En inclusief vervoer van en naar Schiphol. Op het einde nemen Floris en Catharina natuurlijk nog even een gepaste (After Lockdown)-cocktail in de Twenty Third Bar, alwaar het uitzicht het mooiste is, zeker als het donker wordt. Santé! Kortom, deze video moet je gezien hebben.

De mooiste bergwandelingen van Nederland: Vogelenzang
Op wandelzoekpagina.nl staan de (misschien wel) mooiste bergwandelingen van Nederland. Natuurlijk kent Nederland geen echte bergen, maar op verschillende plekken in ons land kun je je toch uitleven op aardige kuitenbijters.
Deze 'bergwandeling' bracht me in de Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen, ingang Oase.
In de beschrijving van dit tochtje staat:
Rozenberg en Appelenberg
Deze tocht gaat over zandwegen, onderhoudspaden langs kanalen en ruim 1
km over ongebaand terrein. De wandeling begint rustig met een aanloopje langs
kanaaltjes. De beklimming begint op het Rozenwaterveld. Via een zandspoor op de
noordflank bereik je de top van de Rozenberg. Dan begint de heuse overschrijding via de
graat naar de Appelenberg. Voortdurend kun je genieten van het zicht op de duinen. Een
lange afdaling brengt je terug op het gebaande pad. Langs waterleidingkanaaltjes wandel
je terug naar het startpunt bij De Oase. Maar je kunt natuurlijk ook je eigen spoor zoeken,
want in deze duinen mag je vrij struinen.

Naarden Vesting
Een van de mooiste vestingsteden van Nederland is wel de vesting Naarden.
Zeer uitgebreid, rondom de gehele binnenstad en goed onderhouden. In de vesting ook het Vesting Museum. Daarnaast is de binnenstad zelf erg mooi en gezellig. Met het mooie weer zijn de terrassen goed gevuld. Eyecatchers in de binnenstad zijn natuurlijk de grote kerk van Naarden waar op goede vrijdag voor Pasen altijd de Matheus Passion wordt opgevoerd en de binnenhaven met het Arsenaal, waar tegenwoordig een waaier van bedrijven en restaurants is gevestigd.
Naarden Vesting: altijd de moeite waard om te bezoeken, ook al ben je er meerdere malen geweest.
Wij waren er op 4 mei 2023. Vandaar alle vlaggen, die halfstok hangen.
One of the most beautiful fortified towns in the Netherlands is the Naarden fortress. Very extensive, around the entire city center and well maintained. The Fortress Museum is also located in the fortress. In addition, the city center itself is very nice and cozy. When the weather is nice, the terraces are well filled. Eye-catchers in the city center are of course the large church of Naarden, where the Matheus Passion is always performed on Good Friday before Easter, and the inner harbor with the Arsenaal, which nowadays houses a range of companies and restaurants.
Naarden Vesting: always worth a visit, even if you have been there several times.
We were there on May 4, 2023. Hence all flags, which hang at half-mast.

Harderwijk is a city in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located on the edge of the Veluwe and near the water of the Markermeer. The history of Harderwijk goes back to the 13th century, when a settlement arose here around a castle.
In the Middle Ages, Harderwijk was an important trading town. Herring and fish products were mainly traded. The city also had a university, where theology and law were taught, among other things. Nowadays Harderwijk still has a lively city center with many historic buildings and cozy terraces.
A popular attraction in Harderwijk is the Dolfinarium, a large marine mammal park where dolphins, walruses, seals and other marine animals can be admired. In addition, there are many opportunities for walking and cycling in the beautiful surroundings of Harderwijk, for example through the nearby nature reserve De Veluwe or along the water of the Markermeer.
All in all, Harderwijk is a fun and varied destination for a day out or a longer stay.

Daarnaast zijn er veel mogelijkheden om te wandelen en fietsen in de mooie omgeving van Harderwijk, bijvoorbeeld door het nabijgelegen natuurgebied de Veluwe of langs het water van het Markermeer.
Al met al is Harderwijk een leuke en gevarieerde bestemming voor een dagje uit of een wat langer verblijf.

Vandaag vliegen we met de dJI mini 3 pro drone over Emmeloord.
Emmeloord is een stad in de provincie Flevoland.
Emmeloord is de centrale plaats in de polder, en is omringd door de dorpen, Bant, Creil, Ens, Espel, Kraggenburg, Luttelgeest, Marknesse, Nagele, Rutten en Tollenbeek
In 1936 werd begonnen met het aanleggen van de dijken om de Noordoostpolder die in 1940 klaar waren. Daarna begon het droogmalen van het gebied dat in 1942 droogviel. Er werd ruim 50.000 hectare land ontgonnen uit het IJsselmeer (de voormalige Zuiderzee). Op 15 december 1943 werd het eerste huis van Dorp A betrokken. De werknaam is later vervangen door Emmeloord. Vanwege de ontginning gedurende de Tweede Wereldoorlog was de Noordoostpolder een eldorado voor onderduikers. Veel wegen in het gebied herinneren nog aan deze tijd. Het Erehof Emmeloord is ook een stille getuige van de Tweede Wereldoorlog in de Noordoostpolder.

Het Hiensepad, rond Dodewaard, is het nieuwste klompenpad. Net voor de officiële opening liep ik het rondje. Via de Dodewaardsekerk, de uiterwaarden van de Waal, de kerncentrale kwam ik in de tweede helft van dit pad meerdere andere klompenpadwandelaars tegen.
Mijn mening over dit klompenpad? Die houd ik bij nieuwe klompenpaden altijd eerst voor me, ik laat graag de beelden spreken.

Drukte in connexxion lijn 10 Terneuzen Hulst in Zeeland
Bij slecht weer minder fietsers en meer reizigers in de bus. 1 bus per uur lijn 10 en ook nog stappen is te weinig mobiliteit voor de zone Terneuzen naar Hulst via de dorpen. Een vlottere doorstroming is belangrijk in deze tijd, je moet nu te lang wachten op je bus en ook blijft het vermoeiend voor velen door de beperkte op en afstaphaltes.
