Come check out our new travel guide from Leipzig, Germany where we cover 10 things to do in the city including quirky attractions, artsy neighbourhoods and the Leipzig's incredible food scene. Today we’re visiting a really cool city that’s full of contrasts. Leipzig is a place that offers a wonderful mix of lush green spaces with canals, gritty industrial areas that have been given new life, and a beautiful city centre that oozes history.
Over the course of our visit we got to see that Leipzig is a city of many faces, and a few locals even told us the city has earned the nickname 'hype-zig' because it feels like a younger up and coming version of Berlin.
So, with all of that in mind, in this video, we’ll be sharing some of the highlights from our visit. which include a fun food tour featuring everything from German baked goods to Southeast Asian street food. We’ll also show you around our unique accommodations, because yes, we spent the night in a warehouse! Plus, we’ll show you which beer to order next time you find yourself here.

The Bitterfeld Arch (German: Bitterfeld Bogen) is a structure in the form of a steel arch in Bitterfeld-Wolfen that is now a landmark of the city. It is an architectural sculpture designed by the Frankfurt artist Claus Bury and situated on the Bitterfelder Berg an ancient sand dune. It sits above the newly created park and lake landscape of the Bitterfeld region that has been built over the remains of brown coal open pit mines.
It is meant to symbolize not only the region's renewal after its departure from heavy industry but also the unity of the city which was created by the merger of the towns Bitterfeld and Wolfen and the municipalities Greppin, Holzweißig and Thalheim on 1 July 2007.
A viewing platform that provides a panoramic view of Bitterfeld and the surrounding region can be found at the top. The Bitterfeld Arch appears in Bitterfeld-Wolfen's city logo.

Bitterfeld-Wolfen ist eine Stadt im mitteldeutschen Chemiedreieck in Sachsen-Anhalt.
Die Stadt Bitterfeld-Wolfen entstand 2007 durch die Fusion der beiden Städte Bitterfeld und Wolfen und der drei Gemeinden Greppin, Holzweißig und Thalheim und ist Große Kreisstadt im ebenfalls 2007 begründeten Landkreis Anhalt-Bitterfeld. 2009 trat zusätzlich die Gemeinde Bobbau der neuen Einheitsgemeinde bei. Die Orte haben keine gemeinsame Geschichte und auch keine gemeinsame Stadtentwicklung, was man dem zerrissenen Stadtbild ohne klares Zentrum (auch einiger der einzelnen Orte) ansieht.

Đôi nét về hồ Großer Goitzsche:
Diện thích về mặt: 13,32 km²
Độ sâu: 48 m
Hồ nằm ở phía đông nam của Bitterfeld và phía bắc của Delitzsch và bao quanh cùng với Muldestausee. Trước đây là mỏ khai thác than vô cùng lớn của Đông Đức. Vào năm 1998 thì khu vực mỏ than bắt đầu được xả nước từ Mulde và đến năm 2002 thì hoàn thành. Cho đến năm 2006 thì khu vực hồ mới bắt đầu được cải tạo qua công ty Lausitzer und Mitteldeutschen Bergbau-Verwaltungsgesellschaft (LMBV) (tạm dịch là công ty khai thác mỏ ở trung tâm Đức), thành khu bảo tồn thiên nhiên và du lịch. Tại đây cũng đã diễn ra rất nhiều thế vận hội thể thao bơi thuyền và chạy bộ của bang Sachsen-Anhalt.
Di chuyển:
+ Có Auto thì cực kì tiện, đi từ Leipzig tầm 20-30p là tới nơi.
+ Đi bằng tàu thì đi từ Leipzig qua Bitterfeld khoảng 40p. Rồi từ Hbf đi xem đạp hoặc đi bộ ra hồ tầm 10-15p
+ Lời khuyên là nên mang theo xe đạp, các vị trí thăm quan nằm cách khá xa nhau, nên đi xe đạp vừa tiết kiệm thời gian vừa đỡ mệt
