Then, he brought his wife for treatment before a Fakir and explained to him that his wife hated him very much and felt relaxed at home, during his absence. After reciting the Ruqya, a Jinn spoke through that lady and said it was in love with her and was responsible for the lady's behavior.

Make in India: The best Cricket bats are made from Kashmir Willow

Workers cut the clefts of willow to make a cricket bat at a factory in Sangam, Bijbehara, Kashmir, India.

Cricket is the most popular sport in India. Go to any part in India from Jammu & Kashmir in the north to Kerala and Tamil Nadu in the south or from Maharashtra in the west to Assam in the east, you would definitely spot a bunch of boys busy with a cricket bat hitting a ball.

Behind the towering willows, Kashmir’s cricket bat industry is a living, breathing, manufacturing industry, as the bats are handmade at a local factory.

Forty kilometers from Srinagar is Sangam, the veiled world of the Kashmiri willow and cricket bat makers.

The willow clefts obtained from the willow trees here are being fashioned to manufacture quality cricket bats. Kashmir willow is largely utilized by cricket bat manufacturers as a substitute for English Willow. The trees are chopped into logs and are then split into wedges called clefts. The clefts are then cut into the basic shape of a cricket bat with the correct width and length.

These bats are not only popular in India, but also in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

This AUTUMN IN KASHMIR, Head To These Picture Perfect Places

The Mystic Autumn of Kashmir Valley | The Kashmir Valley has entered into autumn season, which usually falls during October-November. In the valley of four seasons, each painting Kashmir with a distinct hue, Autumn is Kashmir’s very own golden season which splashes the place in all shades of red, yellow and orange- creating frames out of a fairytale.

To experience the different shades of Harud, here’s a list of Breathtaking Places To Vist In Kashmir during autumn:

1) University of Kashmir/Naseem Bagh
University of Kashmir campus is a well-known fall attraction. Naseem Bagh, jiska literal meaning hai “Garden of Morning Breeze,” is the most mesmerizing area of the university, especially in the autumn, boasting of 1000 chinar trees. This is one of the most tranquil places, and nothing can match the beauty of this picture-perfect garden. Chinar is a Persian word that means “fame, fire, and blaze.” To see the falling of red orange chinar leaves is an experience words really do not do justice to.

2) Dal Lake Boulevard
The experience I enjoy a lot personally is walking on Boulevard, not near the crowded shikara ghats but around 3-4 kms ahead towards the CRPF cam in Brein area. Thand ke gloomy dino me dull grey skies, aur usi ke sath poora boulevard road orange red trees se lada hua, this contrast of colors has just left its permanent mark on my mind.

3) Char Chinar
On Dal Lake, there is a small Chinar Island called ‘Char Chinar’. It is one of the popular tourist attractions in Srinagar, aur yahan tak jane ke lie aap Dal Lake ke Ghat no 23 se shikara leke ja sakte hain. Dal lake aur shikara ride toh enjoy karenge hi, par jab is chhote se island par pahuchnge, to chinar ke patto ke beech se dikhte zabarwan hills aur bhi khoobsurat lagenge.

4) Nishat Bagh
Srinagar is a city of gardens, gardens which just deck up differently during autumn.Nishat and Shalimar are 2 such Mughal Gardens filled with chinars. Autumn is a season that honors the Chinar like no other! The Kashmiri Chinar tree is at its most beautiful when its brilliant red leaves, make a rustling sound as wind rushes through them, giving the whole scene a romantic appearance

5) Dachigam
Apart from being home to the rescued black bears and snow leopards, Dachigam National Park gets painted in shades of yellow and orange during Autumn. Adding to that are the gushing streams and the chirping of birds lending a unique charm to the entire place. Dachigam Srinagar city se 23 KM dur hai aur yahan jaane ke lie aapko ek online permit lena hot hai jo easily available hai.

6) Shankaracharya Temple
If you want to experience more of thick forest, untarnished nature, and the glorious ‘Golden Harud’ at its best, the Shankaracharya hill is the place to be. Being that perfect getaway not far from the city, this forested hill represents autumn in its own uniqueness. Its thick plantation presents a beautiful picture of yellow and orange in autumn which is undoubtedly a treat to the eyes.

7) Pari mahal
Pari mahal, also known as the abode of fairies, is adorned with a seven-terraced garden that has a variety of plants, trees, and shrubs that beautifully turn orange in autumn. Not just the gardens and the palace, but also the route to this place turns into a magical scene filled with shades of yellow and orange, offering a spectacular view to behold.

The dreamy atmosphere all around and the pleasant weather in the valley are simply beyond comparison. Infact Autumn in Kashmir is not just a season, it is an emotion. It is the hope and comfort one finds when things start falling apart, but it also assures that the beautiful fall is necessary for a new beginning. So A trip to Kashmir in the autumn season will not only make you forget all your worries, but also make you appreciate the simpler things in life

Willow cricket bats made in Kashmir's Sangam Bijbehara

More of this is what will bring about a resurgence in Kashmir - good old Kashmiri / Himalayan hard work, perseverance, commerce and 'Make in India'!

Cricket is arguably, the most popular sport in India. Go to any part of India from Jammu & Kashmir in the north to Kerala and Tamil
Nadu in the south or from Maharashtra in the west to Arunachal
Pradesh in the east, you would most likely spot a bunch of boys busy playing cricket.

People work out their social events, leave from office and travel plans in accordance with the Indian cricket team's schedule.

Forty kilometers from Srinagar is Sangam, the hidden world of the
Kashmiri Willow and cricket bat makers. Sangam is situated on the
Srinagar-Jammu Highway in Bijbehara tehsil of Anantnag
district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Behind the beautiful willow trees, Kashmir’s cricket bat industry is a living, breathing, manufacturing industry, as the bats are handmade at a local factory. The willow clefts obtained from the willow trees here are fashioned to manufacture quality cricket bats. Cricket bat manufacturers largely utilized Kashmir Willow as a substitute for English Willow. Kashmir produces the largest number of cricket bats in India, which are sold worldwide.

The Kashmiri willow used to manufacture cricket bats comes from
different areas of the Kashmir valley. The trees are chopped into logs and are then split into wedges called clefts. The clefts are then cut into the basic shape of a cricket bat with the correct width and length.

These newly cut blocks of Kashmiri willow usually sit outside,
stacked up, waiting to dry under the summer sun. The bats are not only popular in India, but also in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

In the manufacturing process, the handle and toe ends of the bat are established, with the blade selected from the best end of the willow to ensure a quality cricket bat and better performance. The shoulders of the bat are shaped and blended to give the correct shape and structure to the bat. The clefts are then placed in drying rooms.

Power saws are used to create the main shape of the bat and wood planes to make the bat surface smooth. Craftsmen then shape the blade to enhance the pick-up and weight of the cricket bat and to ensure a good overall balance.

When the handle has been fitted, the cricket bat is nearly complete.
The craftsmen subsequently give finishing touches by applying paint over the bats and pasting them with stickers and labels.
Kashmir Willow is renowned worldwide and is second only to the
famous English Willow for manufacturing the best cricket bats.

This small-scale industry provides various opportunities of
employment to the youth of the locality and its surrounding area.
Every family of these villages is directly or indirectly involved in this
industry and earns their livelihood from it.

Hey Guys! This is my 4th vlog from Kashmir Series. In case you haven't seen my previous vlogs, the links are given below ????

Gulmarg part-1 :
Gulmarg part-2 :
Houseboat Tour:

In this vlog, I will take you to Pahalgam, Kashmir. Pahalgam is a hill station in the north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is located at an altitude of 2130 m above sea level amidst the great Himalayan range. It is positioned beside the Liddar River, in the Liddar valley. Pahalgam is 95 km east of Srinagar.

If you go to Pahalgam from Srinagar via Bijbehara bypass, there are many saffron field and apple orchards on this road.

There are n number of hiking and trekking trails around Pahalgam. One can even explore these places on horseback. Pahalgam provides a panoramic view of the mighty Himalayan range with its lush green pine forests and snow-capped peaks.

We hired guided ponies to explore Pahalgam and the areas around it and the distance from the carpark to Mini Switzerland took around 2 hours to reach (one way).

I hope you will enjoy this vlog.

Bat making in India: Kashmir

Workers making bats at a factory in Sangham Village, Bijbehara, Kashmir.
