MAP OF NORTH CAROLINA

hello my friends. this is a map of beautiful north carolina. North Carolina is bordered by South Carolina on the south, Georgia on the southwest, Tennessee on the west, Virginia on the north, and the Atlantic Ocean on the east. The United States Census Bureau places North Carolina in the South Atlantic division of the southern region.

North Carolina consists of three main geographic regions: the Atlantic coastal plain, occupying the eastern portion of the state; the central Piedmont region, and the mountain region in the west, which is part of the Appalachian Mountains. The coastal plain consists of more specifically-defined areas known as the Outer Banks, a string of sandy, narrow barrier islands separated from the mainland by sounds or inlets, including Albemarle Sound and Pamlico Sound, the native home of the venus flytrap, and the inner coastal plain, where longleaf pine trees are native. excuse me. please comment if you love north carolina. continuing.

So many ships have been lost off Cape Hatteras that the area is known as the Graveyard of the Atlantic; more than a thousand ships have sunk in these waters since records began in 1526. The most famous of these is the Queen Anne's Revenge (flagship of the pirate Blackbeard), which went aground in Beaufort Inlet in 1718.

The coastal plain transitions to the Piedmont region along the Atlantic Seaboard fall line, the elevation at which waterfalls first appear on streams and rivers. The Piedmont region of central North Carolina is the state's most populous region, containing the six largest cities in the state by population. It consists of gently rolling countryside frequently broken by hills or low mountain ridges. Small, isolated, and deeply eroded mountain ranges and peaks are located in the Piedmont, including the Sauratown Mountains, Pilot Mountain, the Uwharrie Mountains, Crowder's Mountain, King's Pinnacle, the Brushy Mountains, and the South Mountains. The Piedmont ranges from about 300 feet in elevation in the east to about 1,500 feet in the west.

The western section of the state is part of the Blue Ridge Mountains of the larger Appalachian Mountain range. Among the subranges of the Blue Ridge Mountains located in the state are the Great Smoky Mountains and the Black Mountains. The Black Mountains are the highest in the eastern United States, and culminate in Mount Mitchell at 6,684 feet , the highest point east of the Mississippi River.

Cullasaja Falls in Macon County is nice too.
North Carolina has 17 major river basins. The five basins west of the Blue Ridge Mountains flow to the Gulf of Mexico, while the remainder flow to the Atlantic Ocean. Of the 17 basins, 11 originate within the state of North Carolina, but only four are contained entirely within the state's border—the Cape Fear, the Neuse, the White Oak, and the Tar–Pamlico basin. thats all for now. thanks for listening. please subscribe for the best maps and for the love of north carolina. goodbye. #mapschool #maps #mapas #northcarolina

Places to see in ( Birmingham - USA )

Places to see in ( Birmingham - USA )

Birmingham is the largest city in the state of Alabama. With more than 1.2 million people in the metropolitan area, Birmingham is the cultural and economic heart of Alabama. In much of the world, Birmingham is best remembered as the site of racist violence, bombings, and nonviolent protest in the 1960s, when the city was still racially segregated by law. Visitors today are often surprised to find a pleasant green city of ridges and valleys, with many attractive views and friendly, hospitable people.

From its founding through the end of the 1960s, Birmingham was a primary industrial center of the southern United States. Its growth from 1881 through 1920 earned it nicknames such as The Magic City and The Pittsburgh of the South. Its major industries were iron and steel production. Major components of the railroad industry, rails and railroad cars, were manufactured in Birmingham. Since the 1860s, the two primary hubs of railroading in the Deep South have been Birmingham and Atlanta. The economy diversified in the latter half of the 20th century. Banking, telecommunications, transportation, electrical power transmission, medical care, college education, and insurance have become major economic activities. Birmingham ranks as one of the largest banking centers in the U.S. Also, it is among the most important business centers in the Southeast.

In higher education, Birmingham has been the location of the University of Alabama School of Medicine (formerly the Medical College of Alabama) and the University of Alabama School of Dentistry since 1947. In 1969 it gained the University of Alabama at Birmingham, one of three main campuses of the University of Alabama System. It is home to three private institutions: Samford University, Birmingham-Southern College, and Miles College. The Birmingham area has major colleges of medicine, dentistry, optometry, physical therapy, pharmacy, law, engineering, and nursing. The city has three of the state's five law schools: Cumberland School of Law, Birmingham School of Law, and Miles Law School. Birmingham is also the headquarters of the Southwestern Athletic Conference and the Southeastern Conference, one of the major U.S. collegiate athletic conferences.

Birmingham occupies Jones Valley, flanked by long parallel mountain ridges (tailing ends of the Appalachian Mountains) running from northeast to southwest. The valley is drained by small creeks (Village Creek, Valley Creek) which flow into the Black Warrior River. The valley was bisected by the principal railroad corridor, along which most of the early manufacturing operations began. Suburbs in the Birmingham–Hoover metropolitan area :

Bessemer City NC 4K (DJI Mavic Pro Footage) Aerial shots of the Downtown & Countryside

Bessemer City (City with a Heart) is a small city in Gaston County, North Carolina and is approximately 25 miles west of Charlotte, North Carolina. This nice city that is 6 miles northwest of Gastonia has a population less than 5,600 residents. Bessemer City was founded in 1893.

Bessemer City is named for Sir Henry Bessemer who created the Bessemer process for smelting iron. The earliest settlement dates back to 1754 when King George II of Great Britain granted 2,000 acres of land to James Ormand who established the Ormand Mining Company to extract iron ore. This land is where downtown Bessemer City is today. The Old Furnace is still owned today by the Ormand Family. The site is used today as a gathering site for the Ormand Family Family reunions which is one of the oldest family reunions in America which has been held since 1897.

In the 1840's - corn and cotton were the region's two main crops. Whiskey production was very profitable during this time. Interesting fact is that Gaston County had more licensed whisky distilleries at that time than any other county in North Carolina. You need to read up more on the history of Bessemer City - it is very interesting.

Here are some of the attractions in and around Bessemer City:

. Crowders Mountain
. Kings Mountain State Park
. Surf and Turf Lodge , Grandma Hoyt's Country Buffet, Dino's Italian, McDonald's & Dan's restaurant
