Driving in the Netherlands: Rijksweg A7 E22 from Drachten to Groningen
In this video you can drive along on A7 E22 from Drachten to Groningen and a short part of the N7 Ring of Groningen. The A7 E22 is a motorway that runs from Amsterdam in the West to the border with Germany in the Northeast. After Amsterdam, Groningen is the 2nd largest city on the highway.
We start in the province of Friesland near the city of Drachten. Although city is not entirely correct. Drachten is the 2nd largest 'city' of the province after its capital Leeuwarden and has over 60.000 inhabitants. However, it officially does not have city rights and is theoretically a 'town' or 'village'. The same goes for Heerenveen, the 3rd largest 'city' of Friesland.
In fact, Drachten is one of the biggest places in the Netherlands without a train station or rail connection. It's been planned for decades to build a new train connection between the West and Groningen in the North alongside the A7, but they are yet to break ground on the project. Groningen is of course connected to the rest of the country by rail, although the trajectory goes via the East (Assen - Zwolle) and there is a non-electrified connection to Leeuwarden in the West.
Either way this shows the significance of this motorway and it can get quite busy at peak hours in certain places. Groningen (200.000 pop.) was and still is a notorious bottleneck on the A7, as it's routed straight through the city (numbered as N7). It's almost impossible to expand and widen the urban expressway due to space constraints but as you can see in the video, there is quite a bit of construction going on.
A couple of years ago they started on a complete overhaul of the roads (RING) around Groningen, recognizing the need for an obstacle-free traffic flow for through-traffic. In the past, there used to be a classic junction with traffic lights at Julianaplein (A7 x A28). Now at the time of its re-construction, traffic lights are still being used but in the future this should be a free-flow intersection without traffic lights.
In a further effort, the N7 through the city will be 'sunk' and I believe partly in a tunnel. It will also we widened to 2x3 across the trajectory through the city. Additionally further roads around the city will be upgraded or have been upgraded already, (e.g. the N46) and a couple of bridges will undergo renovation works as well.

Driving in the Netherlands: Snelwegen A2 E25 & A27 E311 from 's-Hertogenbosch to Utrecht
In this video you can drive along on Rijkswegen A2 E25 and A27 E311 from 's-Hertogenbosch to Utrecht in the heart of the Netherlands. The A2 is the country's longest motorway. I have featured almost all of it on this channel, except the part Utrecht - Amsterdam.
The A2 is a busy motorway and has a minimum setup of 2 x 3 lanes pretty much across the board except for the Southern part in the Limburg province. The A27, a motorway I also featured before on this channel, runs from Breda in the South to Almere in the heart of the country.
's-Hertogenbosch or 'Den Bosch' is the capital of the Brabant province and has about 170.000 inhabitants. Utrecht is the country's 4th biggest city with well over 300.000 inhabitants and the place where much of the Netherlands' infrastructure comes together. This is also visible in the road network, as you see we are passing quite a few motorway junctions. The Ring Utrecht (beltway) is one of the busiest and traffic-prone areas of the Dutch motorway network.

Driving in France and Luxembourg: Autoroute A31 E25 & A3 from Metz to Aire de Berghem
In this video you can drive along on Autoroute A31 E25 and A3 E25 from Metz in France to Aire de Berghem, one of the largest gas stations in the world, in Luxembourg. This part of A31 is toll free and a busy international corridor, especially in the summer.
Starting in Metz, the A31 leads us North passed the city of Thionville. Upon crossing the border into Luxembourg there are road works that cause a little bit of traffic. The A3 together with the A6 are the most important through routes of Luxembourg so they need to be well maintained. I already featured part of the A3 and A6 in an earlier video, driving from Croix Bettembourg to Arlon in Belgium. You can check it out here:

[4KHDR] Driving in Germany: Bundesstraße B10 & Autobahn A8 from Pirmasens to Dreieck Saarlouis
In this video you can drive along on Bundesstraße B10 and Autobahn A8 from Pirmasens to Dreieck Saarlouis in the West of Germany. Starting on the B10 expressway, we continue our journey on the A8 in the direction of Saarbrücken.
The B10 is a well-known Bundesstraße that also runs through cities like Stuttgart, Karlsruhe and Ulm. In this area of Germany it serves as the missing link of the A8, which runs from the border with Austria in the South to Karlsruhe. It then again continues from the Pirmasens area until the border with Luxembourg.
A big chunk of the B10 link is a 1 x 1 expressway going through some challenging terrain of the Rhineland-Palatinate. It's likely that the B10 will never be upgraded to A8 autobahn in the future, but remain an expressway. There are plans to upgrade the 1 x 1 section in the future. I uploaded an earlier video on this part of the B10, you can watch it here:
The A8 in this area of Germany has a high density of exits as you may notice in the video. It likely used to be a Bundesstraße which was then later upgraded. It's quite a populous area in the Saarland region, which is quite heavy on industry.

[4KHDR] Driving in Luxembourg and Belgium: A3, A6 E44 & A4 E25 from Croix de Bettembourg to Arlon
In this video you can drive along on the A3, A6 & A4 E25 / E44 from Croix de Bettembourg in Luxembourg to Arlon in Belgium. Croix de Bettembourg in Southern Luxembourg marks the intersection between the country's A3 and A13.
Just past Croix de Bettembourg is one of the world's largest and busiest gas stations, Aire de Berghem (Shell). Luxembourg is well-known for its low taxes on fuel, which is why many stop here to fill up.
The A3 merges into the A6, which is effectively in part the Southern beltway of the city of Luxembourg, the country's capital. It then carries on to the Border with Belgium in the West. From the border the A4 takes over, which runs all the way to Belgium's capital Brussels.
