Kentucky is the gateway to the Ohio River, which is the one that supplies water and irrigation to the place. Moreover, the Appalachian Mountains are just east of the state, so you can always enjoy this contrasting yet beautiful natural scenery.

Top 5 Fall Hikes in Kentucky | Explore Appalachia Episode 7
We wanted to take advantage of the beautiful fall weather that we had in Appalachia this year! We went to some of our favorite hiking trails in southeast Kentucky to show you what the views looked like as the leaves were changing color.
Our first hike was to Chained Rock in Pineville, Kentucky. This one is a favorite of ours and it really never gets old. We went to see the sunrise over the mountains and we got a great view from above the clouds.
Next up on the list was the trail to The Pinnacles in Berea, Kentucky. There are multiple different trails at the Pinnacles, but we trekked up the mountain to Indian Fort Lookout. The lookout gave us great views of local farmland and the Berea College Forest.
After the Pinnacles, we drove up to The Red River Gorge to hike to The Natural Bridge and Lover’s Leap. There were rolling mountains as far as the eye could see from up there. Lover’s Leap was just a little bit further down the trail and from there we could see The Natural Bridge in all its glory. Of course, we couldn’t take a trip to the Gorge without stopping at Miguel’s for some pizza and Ale8.
Our next hike was way down south in Whitley City, Kentucky. We took the short hike to Yahoo Falls to check out Kentucky’s tallest waterfall. There weren’t many people there so the sound of the waterfall made it super peaceful.
The final hike of this tour was also in Whitley City. Buzzard Rock was just down the road from Yahoo Falls and it was brand new to all of us. It was a pretty easy hike with very little elevation change. Once we got to buzzard rock, we had an awesome panoramic view of some Appalachian mountains with The Cumberlands River winding through them.

Number 4. Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in the United States. Located near Brookside Metropolitan Park, the zoo has domestic and exotic animals from around the world, including the largest collection of primate species in North America.
Besides enjoying the many renovated animal exhibits, you can spend time at the 4D Theater or take part in one of the many behind-the-scenes experiences and seasonal programs.
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is also a botanic garden with beautiful year-round foliage.
Number 3. Greater Cleveland Aquarium
The Cleveland Aquarium is housed in one of the city's premier historical buildings, the First Energy Powerhouse. But the real attraction is inside, where you will be treated to colorful and unusual creatures from the deep.
The aquarium has eight different galleries with over 50 exhibits and 2,500 animals spread across 300 species. Learn about aquatic life in categories like tropical reefs or in Ohio's lakes and Rivers.
Animal interactions are available, including the ability to get up close and personal with stingrays and touch a blue-tongued skink at the petting tank.
Number 2. Lake View Cemetery
The Lake View Cemetery was created in the style of those found in Victorian England and France, as a garden with monuments. Referred to as Cleveland's Outdoor Museum and designed as a peaceful park, the 285-acre cemetery features elegant gardens and horticulture.
The cemetery was established in 1869 and contains more than 100,000 graves, including some famous names. James Abram Garfield, 20th President of the United States; John Davison Rockefeller; and Eliot Ness are among the few who made Lake View Cemetery their final resting place.
The cemetery is a popular place for photography in Ohio, and its park-like setting makes it easy to just wander and be curious about the many unique gravesites. Lake View Cemetery holds history walking tours and even concerts on the lawn during the year.
Number 1. Christmas Story House
One of the most admired attractions in Cleveland is the A Christmas Story House that was the hallmark of the famous 1983 holiday movie. This movie-set home is open to visitors for tours, and it has remained just like it appears in scenes from the nostalgic movie classic.
You will recognize the interior of the home, especially the famous leg lamp. You can even buy your own replica of it in the gift shop across the street. There are a couple of buildings to see including the museum that has preserved some of the costumes from the movie and props like the family's car.
The home and tourist attraction are tucked away in a residential neighborhood, making it even more charming.
Bardstown: Most Beautiful Small Town in America | Kentucky Life | KET
Bardstown, Ky was named Most Beautiful Small Town in America in the Rand McNally/USA Today 2012 Best of the Road competition. Kentucky Life talks to Kim Huston, author of Small Town Sexy, about the iconic streets, shops, cafes, and historic neighborhoods in the Bourbon Capital of the World.
A total of 650 towns were nominated, and Bardstown pulled out all the stops for the offical judges' visit, with people lining the streets for a parade. The Rand McNally team of Nikki and Dusty Green spent a few days seeing the sights and getting to know the people. When the online voting was done, this Nelson County town — home to Barton 1792, Heaven Hill, Jim Beam, and the Ky Bourbon Festival — was the winner.
(Note: Danville was among the towns vying for Most Beautiful, making the final six; and Murray was named Friendliest.)

One of the Best Hikes in Kentucky
Indian Fort Mountain owned by Berea Collage just east of Berea, Kentucky is one of the best hikes in the area. On this video we hike up to one of the many great overlooks, the East Pinnacle. From this location you have one of the best views in the state. Our geocaching group hike up to this area almost every year around the new year.
2023 Cuyahoga County Fair (Berea, OH - 4K HDR)
Well what do we have here? The 2023 Cuyahoga County Fair might have been the best County Fair of the year. Primetime Carnival Company was the primary ride provider, with Spin-A-Tron, Alpine Bobs and the Eagle’s Eye Mulligan Wheel being highlights. In an odd twist, Talley Amusements brought along a few rides from the Ohio State Fair including Alien Abduction, Ring Of Fire, and their insanely fast Orbiter. And finally, an unnamed dark ride that I have never seen before made an appearance and may have been one of the worst portable dark rides I have ever done. Regardless, it was a decent ride lineup and there was a good crowd, so enjoy and as always thanks for watching!
