We have both lived in Bellingham for the majority of our lives and as full-time world travelers can now fully appreciate the true beauty Bellingham has to offer. Bellingham is located just 90 miles north of Seattle and 50 miles south of Vancouver, BC, making it a great destination for travelers who want to explore the Pacific Northwest. But Bellingham is more than just a pitstop - it's a destination in its own right.
We start in the historic district of Fairhaven. With its Victorian architecture, boutique shops, restaurants, and Stones Throw Brewery, it is a great place to start our tour.

We stopped for some local Woods Coffee, before walking into downtown to grab some food at the famous Bellingham Farmers Market. From there we continued wandering all day! Spending a Day Trip at Bellingham Washington
Visiting Bellingham and looking for things to do and you're only there for one day?
I spent the day over at Bellingham to celebrate my girlfriends' mother's 61st birthday. As a result, we didn't get too much time, but we made sure to really make the most of our 1-day trip over at Bellingham, Washington.
Bellingham is a small quaint community just 90 miles north of Seattle. It generally takes about 1.5 - 2 hours drive time depending on the traffic conditions.
The drive itself can be pretty nice as you'll be driving along side the western coast line as well as views of the Northern Cascade mountains on your east!
In this video, we check out the 3 things that we visited while spending our time in Bellingham:

1)Whatcom Falls Park
One of the more popular places to check out when visiting Bellingham is to visit Whatcom Falls Park.
Whatcom Falls Park is a small park located in the eastern part of Bellingham. The loop itself is about 4 miles and is known for its waterfall with its stone bridge. Also, during the warmer temperatures, Whatcom Falls can be a great place to cool off from the summer heat!
Make sure to check out the Trapeze set up in one of the trailheads that leads down towards the small water basin!

2) Chuckanut Bay Gallery
After visiting Whatcom Falls park, we made our way over to Chuckanut Bay Gallery.
It's a cute little store that sells unique decorative wares for your home. They have a good array of bird baths, bird houses, as well as other little trinkets that you can supply to liven up your home! Plus, you'll be supporting the local community!

3) Chuckanut Mountain
An easy hike located right across the street from Chuckanut Bay Gallery. We ended up doing the interurban hike which wasn't too strenuous at all. Tree coverage was great and the hike provided a good scenery of the coast as well as some beautiful homes that overlook the coast.
We took a small detour towards Teddy Bear Cove, which leads down towards the beach. The hike down is approximately 1/3 of a mile (or less) with no significant elevation gain. You'll come across an area with train tracks and just past the tracks is the small beach!

The city of Bellingham, incorporated in 1903, consolidated four settlements: Bellingham, Whatcom, Fairhaven, and Sehome. It takes its name from Bellingham Bay, named by George Vancouver in 1792, for Sir William Bellingham, the Controller of Storekeeper Accounts of the Royal Navy during the Vancouver Expedition.
Today, Bellingham is the northernmost city with a population of more than 90,000 people in the contiguous United States. It is a popular tourist destination known for its easy access to outdoor recreation in the San Juan Islands and North Cascades. More than 100 acres (40 ha) of former industrial land on the Bellingham waterfront is undergoing redevelopment, with plans for a hotel, conference center, condos, retirement housing, retail and commercial development.
