Lima is the capital of Peru and its largest city. Founded in 1535 by the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro, the modern city is a curious mix of the modern mega city with some 'islands of modernity', large but orderly slum areas and colonial architecture in the city center. Lima was the seat of the Spanish rule during 300 years, and as such it has wonderful churches, cloisters and monasteries that are worth a visit.
Lima is also the best place to try the wonderful Peruvian cuisine, which has a huge variety of ingredients from coast, mountain and Amazon regions. The cold sea current in front of Peru's large coast makes the sea very rich in fish and seafood, which have a great taste due to the special plankton they eat. Fish and seafood restaurants are therefore worth the time, and not expensive.
Lima is built upon a valley surrounded by an extremely arid desert. In the summer, the weather is usually beautiful, very warm and sunny, sometimes with rains around January. In the winter, the city is overcast and rainy for days at a time. The rain in the wintertime doesn't fall hard, but it gets everything wet.

Situated on the coast, Miraflores is considered to be one of the finest districts of Lima and is very popular with tourists.

Central
Consists of four areas: Centro Historico, Barrios Altos, Barrio Chino, and Santa Beatriz.
Javier Prado West
Includes the neighborhoods of Bellavista, Brena, Carmen de la Legua Reynoso, Callao, Jesus Maria, La Perla, Lince, La Punta, Magdalena del Mar, Pueblo Libre, San Isidro, and San Miguel, as well as the islands of San Lorenzo, El Frontón, and Cavinzas.
Lima's pre-Hispanic and colonial architecture is beautiful and the city has several museums (such as Museo Larco) that tell the story of a country with a long history that produced a large number of coastal and Andean civilizations (such as the Moche, Chavin, and the Incas) and many local cultures. There are several archeological sites both within and around the city (locally known as huaca).
Miraflores, Barranco and San Isidro are some of the nicest and safest areas in the city. Although they sometimes come a bit pricier than the old city center and other parts, some budget accommodation options do exist.

The historic downtown, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Circuito Mágico del Agua (Magic Water Tour), a fountain and light display in the Parque de la Reserva and Parque Fermín Tangüis.
The Parque del Amor (Lovers' Park) in Miraflores.
The Costa Verde, Lima's impressive green coast stretches between San Miguel and Chorrillos.
The tourist-friendly districts of Barranco, Miraflores and Santiago de Surco.
The historical sites of Pueblo Libre, including the Cruz del Viajero, a monumental Christian cross dating from the era of the Conquistadores.
Lima's best shopping malls: Plaza Norte, Jockey Plaza, Larcomar, Mall Aventura Plaza, Real Plaza Salaverry.
Historical churches: Lima´s Cathedral, Santo Domingo (San Martín de Porres), Santa Rosa (Santa Rosa de Lima), Nazarenas (Señor de los Milagros), San Francisco.
Museums: Museo nacional de Arqueología, Antropología e Historia (Pueblo Libre), Museo de Arte (Paseo Colón), Museo Pedro de Osma (Barranco), Museo Rafael Larco (Pueblo Libre).
Parque Kennedy in the center of Miraflores. This park is right in the entertainment district and is famous for the large number of cats that used to live there.

I'm on a business trip with some friends from school. We're visiting a lot of companies and learning about business in Peru and all of Latin America. Between business visits, we're exploring and eating all the food. :)

In this video, we spend three days exploring the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. We left Iquitos via the port Bellavista Nanay, where you can buy fruit and snacks for the boat ride to your camp. You can also eat larvae here.
We stayed at a no frills eco lodge. Generators came on during lunch and dinner so they can cook food. We could charge our batteries during those times, which was fortunate.
Our guide stayed with us for the entirety of our trip and really made the experience great. His name is Andres and we highly recommend him. He gave us tips, insights, and interesting facts about the trees, animals, and people around us. Check him out on facebook here:

Chegamos!! SANTIAGO - CHILE ???????? e PATIO BELLAVISTA ???? #1/8
Nossa trip dessa vez é em Santiago no chile, serão 8 episódios dos nossos dias nos lugares mais incrível desse pais fantástico.
Nesse vídeo vamos ver como foi o nosso embarque e o final do dia já em Santiago.
Despachamos nossas malas e ficamos no saguão esperando a hora para o nosso embarque, Depois de algumas horas de espera chegou a hora de levantar voo.
Com mais de 4 horas de voo já estávamos sobrevoando as cordilheiras dos andes e já tendo o primeiro contato visual com a neve. É já estávamos encantados com paisagem.
Por fim chegamos a Santiago, após pegar um transfer que nos deixou direto no nosso hotel, fomos no centro da cidade apenas para trocar dinheiro e depois para o mercado comprar água e alguns alimentos para os dias dos passeios.
À noite, fomos jantar e conhecer o Pátio BellaVista, um shopping de restaurantes a céu aberto no bairro mais boêmio de Santiago.
Após andar um pouco por lá decidimos jantar no OpenBox, um Restaurante / Bar com um cardápio bastante variado e com uma decoração bem aconchegante.
E assim foi o nosso primeiro dia em Santiago, um dia bastante corrido e cansativo, mas fiquem ligados nos próximos vídeos, pois terá neve, trilha, cachoeira, restaurantes, parques, pontos turísticos, tudo que Santiago tem a oferecer aos seus moradores e turistas.
