Our family sets out on this day excursion with a 7-mile round trip hike to a great watering hole surrounded by red rock cliffs, and we give must-know hiking tips along the way. The watering hole is one of Arizona's largest and deepest, a must-visit for adventurers. The water at wet beaver creek was clear and refreshing after our hot hike in the dry Arizona heat. We enjoyed eating lunch and cooling off in the water. There are several different cliffs to jump off of at the crack, which was a lot of fun. It was also exciting to watch people jump off the very top; yikes! Stay tuned near the end of the video, where we give you our suggested packing list for the crack at wet beaver creek. Dayton, Ohio is one Midwestern town that seldom gets the attention that it should. Less than an hour's drive north of Cincinnati and just 72 miles south of the state's capital, Columbus, Dayton is known for being the 'birthplace of Aviation'.

Hiking to THE CRACK at Wet Beaver Creek | The Perfect Cliff Diving Swimming Hole | Rimrock, Arizona
Hidden within the Coconino Forest is the ideal summer escape. The Crack - a cool, crystal clear swimming hole tucked within red rocks perfect for diving from. The hike there through a scenic canyon only adds to this worthwhile getaway.
The hike to the Crack follows Bell Trail and is roughly 7 miles out and back. Hikers will find a relatively flat and easy trail for the majority of the hike, however, the elevation gain is not substantial.
There is plentiful parking including an overflow lot. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash.
As one makes their way closer to the Crack, more and more of the red rocks that the Sedona area is known for, make their appearance. The scenery is incredible.
At the end of the trail is the Crack, a pool of water deep enough to cliff dive into. This area can be crowded in the summertime, however, April through October are the most popular months.

Beaver Creek State Natural Area
For paddlers, birders and nature walkers, Beaver Creek is something close to paradise. You can launch your own kayak from Ona Beach or take a summer guided kayak tour. Paddlers enter a park rich in bird life—bald eagles, flycatchers, osprey—and other wildlife such as beaver and river otter. You also have a chance to see salmon and steelhead, and lush wetland plant communities.
After navigating two miles upstream, paddlers can turn into hikers. A trail leads from a landing to a seven-mile network of upland trails. A hilltop viewpoint offers views of the coast range and the ocean.

Dawn skis into the Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch where she gives a brief tour of the hotel and has a fire side chat with friends for apres-ski. The ski school for kids is directly in front of the Park Hyatt where Dawn put her son in ski school for the week. The three mile hike to Beaver Falls from the Havasupai Campground requires a climb down a steep rock wall next to Mooney Falls.
If you conquer your fear of heights and concerns over rock-climbing, Beaver Falls is a great place to spend the day!
The terraces in Havasu Creek which create Beaver Falls have a softer surface made of lime and other mineral deposits. It traps twigs and rocks over time, to build the terraces.
The hiking trail to Beaver Falls crosses Havasu Creek a few times. It'll lead you through fields and up rocky cliffs.
Ladders are placed throughout the trail, which often get washed out by flash floods, and the Havasupai Tribe is usually quick to replace them for hikers.

The Best Ski Resorts in the USA
Day Trip to Cleveland | Camping Beaver Creek State Park
We left VA on Friday of Memorial Day Weekend and headed to Beaver Creek State Park campground in Ohio. We had no idea what was there, but it was the only place we could find a campsite within a 6 hour drive of DC. Turns out, it was a pretty cool place to stay. The campground was fairly small and we only had electric, but the river (or creek) was really nice. There was also an old Pioneer Village to explore as well.
We also went to Cleveland one day to meet up with one of Brittany's friends she hadn't seen in years. We got a great tour of the city, checking out the breweries and the West Side Market. We also had some of the best food at the Greenhouse Tavern.
Beaver Creek turned out to be a pretty great place to stay for the weekend!
