World's Strongest Men in a Tug o' War Challenge at Braemar Gathering Highland Games site in Scotland

The World's strongest men attend the world famous Braemar Gathering Highland Games site in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, for a Tug o' War challenge against a local team.

The strongest men were Eddie Hall, Brian Shaw, Nick Best and Robert Oberst, who took on a Tug of war team from the Braemar and Invercauld Estate area of Aberdeenshire. The idea was to see how many it would take to compete against them for weight and strength. The Braemar Gathering is the only games attended by the Royal Family each year, with Balmoral Estate within the local Deeside area or Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Beaumaris | Anglesey | Wales - Things To See And Do Vlog

Welcome to this, Things To See And Do In Beaumaris, Anglesey in Wales.

Beaumaris Anglesey in North Wales you say?

If you're visiting Beaumaris on the isle of Anglesey in North Wales and are looking for some things to see and do, then this Beaumaris vlog is just for you.

Over a full day's adventure, we head up the North Wales coast, onto Anglesey and to the beautiful old town of Beaumaris.

What is there to see and so in Beaumaris? Well, there's actually quite a lot, and we show you everything we got up to in this beautiful North Wales town.

Our first plan was to take a trip to Puffin Island, obviously after we had first visited the Beaumaris, Red Boat Ice Cream Parlour.

We book our Puffin Island Trip with Starida Puffin Island Cruises - and have a lovely hour and a half on which turned out to be their first Puffin Island trip of the season.

The Starida guys on the trip were excellent, and as well as getting to actually see some puffins and all manner of other type of sea bird and wildlife, the Starida staff were fun and full of interesting information about the cruise and the surrounding area.

Next up was Beaumaris Castle. Beaumaris Castle was built by King Edward I, under the direction of James of St George, in his campaign against the Welsh. In 1403, the castle was taken by Owain Glyndwr and was back in Welsh hands, until it got recaptured again in 1405.

Beaumaris Castle is stunning and reminded us a bit of Harlech castle.

Next up, it was a look around Beaumaris Gaol. Once a treacherous prison, built in 1829, it is now a museum.

Before heading home, it was a look around the beautiful town of Beaumaris, taking in the history of the area and then a ride on the Beaumaris Ferris Wheel on the water's edge, with stunning views over the stunning Snowdonia range.

So if you find yourself visiting Anglesey in North Wales and the beautiful town of Beaumaris, then make sure you check out this Beaumaris Anglesey Wales Vlog.

We have lots of vlogs from North Wales, including a vlog we did last year which also features Beaumaris, where we had a failed attempt at going to see the puffins. This time, we ended up on a Rib Boat, taking a trip down the stunning Menai Straights. That vlog can be found here...

As always, we finish of our vlog with a sum up and a well deserved pint, and as we say in Postcard And A Pint....Cheers To The Good Times x

⭐ About Postcard & A Pint:
Welcome to the official Postcard & A Pint YouTube channel.
Postcard & A Pint was thought up by my partner, Rachel & myself, Wills one day while taking our daily 1 hour exercise during the lockdown of 2020. All of a sudden, we were spending more time together, not working 6 or 7 days a week in the arts industry, and binge watching travel programs, and we were actually really enjoying it, and it made us re-evaluate what was important in life for us. Now back to working 6 or 7 days a week again, with very little time off, our happy time is getting out there on our brief times off together and making short travel videos that we are now sharing with you. It's just a bit of fun, and great for our sanity. Your support is hugely appreciated x

Day 4: Coles Bay to Beaumaris - 100.9km

Day 4: Coles Bay to Beaumaris - 100.9km
Tuesday 21st December 2021

I was pretty pleased to smash out a large portion of the east coast.

Leaving Coles Bay in the morning, the beautiful scenery of the mountains were behind me as I was leaving, but that was okay, I got the good views of them as I was riding into and around Coles Bay the day before.

What to say about the ride? It was mostly flat for the best part, I managed to cover some big ks over short times, which I was pleasantly surprised with. It was mostly riding through bush, until I passed the town of Bicheno, then I was riding alongside the coast for most of the remainder of the day.

I barely stopped, I figured that I was making such good time, that I would just power through to my destination and eat when I got there. So I just had the occasional brief stop, recuperated for a minute or two, and then carried on my merry way. I honestly thought that I was smashing it and I was making good progress, and I was. This is easy I thought. But I hit a bit of a brick wall on the last 15km....I powered on through, but some of the uphills had become noticeably harder than they were earlier in the day.

It's okay to make a mistake, as long as you learn from it.....well it turns out I never learn from mine. I think my issue was that I am making the same mistakes that I made when I was hiking through New Zealand, not eating enough. When I got to Scamander, although only 4-5km from finishing, I did have to stop and pick up some food. A couple of bananas and I was good to power through to Beaumaris.
(And I definitely made up for it that evening.... I inhaled two dinners).
(And I probably did make this same mistake again on this trip in Tasmania??....and I’m sure I’ll make it again….).

I got to The Surfside hostel/hotel/motel pretty early in the afternoon. And was actually able to enjoy my time on the beach that was just across the road from the hostel. A chilled out evening with a walk along beach as the sun was setting.

Oh, yeah, and my pedals were all okay.

And don't forget, it's not too late to donate at

Beaumaris Castle with Perfectly Symmetrical Concentric Layout

James of St George has worked on several incredible architectural projects for Edward I to create the protection of the lands with the help of great Welsh castles.

Beaumaris Castle appears to be one of his best works, as this castle even today seems virtually impregnable.

Anglesey Road Trip - North Wales Island packing a real punch

As part of my North Wales Road Trip, I spent one day away from Snowdonia National Park, doing a mini Anglesey road trip. In this video, I visit the Menai bridge which crosses the Menai Strait, I take a self guided walking tour around the free to enter Parys Mountain - or Parys Mine. I go for a rough and ready exploration of the coastal Porth Wen Brickworks, before a quick pit stop at the South Stack Lighthouse where a mixture of both the lighthouse and 1000's of seabirds were a feast for the senses. As the day was getting on, we headed to Goleudy Twr Mawr or Llanddwyn lighthouse on Llanddwyn Island accidentally timing it perfectly for golden hour. The day was ended with a quick photostop at the train station in 'Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch' for a photo under the well known sign!

Melbourne Vacation Travel Guide

Melbourne – this much-loved Aussie city has long taken residency atop the ‘world’s most livable cities’ list. Follow our journey through the maze of laneways and see why for yourself.

The scent of roasting coffee beans wafts through the air in #Melbourne. This city is serious about its coffee, and if you’re game, you can base an entire Melbourne #visit around sampling the offerings from local cafés.

Want more than a caffeine buzz from your Melbourne #vacation? You’re in luck. Melbourne sits on the banks of the Yarra River, and you’ve got your pick of cathedrals, parks, and giant buildings to explore, as well as an extensive streetcar network to help you get from one place to the next.

Melbourne’s locals love art, and the inner-city laneways are jammed with street artists painting over the external walls of buildings. Don’t worry; these artists have a permit and are sanctioned by the city. A visit to Luna Park™ is also a must, when staying in Melbourne. Transcript:
This time, we’re in my neck of the woods, back in the Motherland, exploring North Wales and frolicking around the green, green grass of home.
We start in central Wales, with a couple of coastal stops as we head north. Wales is the only country in the world to have created a continuous footpath that spans its entire coastline, so if you really wanted to, you could walk the entire route! All 870 miles of it.
Dotted with sleepy fishing villages, there is none of the urban or industrial sprawl of the south. Here, it’s all fishing trawlers, pastel painted cottages, miles of beaches and castles. LOADS of castles. Harlech Castle was the base for the renowned Welsh rebellion against the English, led by the man known as the The Last Prince Of Wales – Owain Glyndwr. And actually, if we’re being technical, he was the only Welsh Prince of Wales, because Wales actually used to be a lot of mini princedoms and never actually united as one independent country. Which is exactly why Edward I decided to build all these castles in the first place: to subjugate the Welsh. Which was mean. But if he hadn’t, Wales wouldn’t have all these lovely castles.
Across the Menai Bridge and we arrive on the Island of Anglesey, home to the longest place name in the entire world. Anglesey – or Ynys Mon – is known as The Holy Isle due to its ancient connection with the druidic faith. After the Roman Conquest and their attempts to wipe them out, the druids withdrew to Anglesey and held out against the invaders for twenty years, until the Roman Army finally conquered them in 78AD. For a time it was also colonised by pirates, before becoming the site of the Court of the Kingdom of Gwynedd. When it was eventually conquered by the English – Edward I again. They built Beaumaris Castle to scare the Welsh into submission. And together with Conwy, Caernarfon and Harlech, these four Welsh castles have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
One of the very best things about Anglesey is its coastal views across the Menai Strait in which you see the towering mountains of Snowdonia behind. Meanwhile, in the North, is Holyhead, the UK’s biggest port that serves the route between Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. And while the weather in the south of Anglesey was pretty calm… it certainly wasn’t in the north.
Back on the mainland and we head to Llandudno, Wales’ most popular seaside resort. And it’s easy to see why. With its Victorian seafront, grand pier and distinctive headland, it is perfect for a family break by the sea. Unfortunately it was too windy when we visited for its famous cable cars to run, but because the town has managed to maintain its grand facades, we didn’t mind just wandering around the town. In fact, I would venture that Llandudno is the best-kept British seaside town that I’ve seen.
Heading inland, we swing by Beddgelert next, which is surrounded by the beautiful scenery of Wales’ most beloved region. Snowdonia. With mountains, lakes, waterfalls and mile upon mile of hiking trails, Snowdonia is a favourite for hikers from all over the UK. It is also home to the tallest mountain in Wales – and England – Mount Snowdon. What makes Snowdon so popular is that, despite its height, it’s actually a remarkably easy mountain to climb. There are routes up for climbers of all abilities, but if you’re feeling especially lazy, there’s even a train up to the summit, with a station but a few metres from the top.I climbed it a few years ago and can confirm that it was certainly achievable. It has a beautiful view when it’s clear!
So whether you love mountains, castles, beaches or just tootling about in the country, there’s definitely something for everyone in North Wales. Unless you want a dragon. Because despite advertising one on its flag, there are no dragons in Wales. Which I find rather deceptive of them.

Llandudno, Caenarfon and Beaumaris, North Wales

The chilli shop in Beaumaris have recently produced a chilli extract which could be the world's most powerful.
Beaumaris is a pretty town with its castle surrounded by a moat and a town centre home to the oldest Tudor building dating back to 1400.
Conwy, is a picturesque walled town with a castle on the banks of the Menai Srait. Visitors can walk the ancient walls or go crab fishing. Along the promenade is smallest house in Britain. Painted red the 2 storey house has just one room on each floor and no stairs, just a ladder.
Caernarfon has a huge well preserved castle with passages and spiral staircases leading all the way up to the towers. The investiture of the Prince of Wales (Charles, eldest son of the Queen) took place at Caenarfon Castle in 1969.
LLandudno pier was built in 1877 and is the longest pier in Wales. The Great Orme Tramway leads up to the summit with views across Snowdonia on a good day. Halfway up is the Great Orme Copper Mine, a bronze age mine whose tunnels are open for the visitor to explore.
Look out for St Trillos chapel near Colywn Bay. It's the smallest chapel in the British Isles and has seating for just 6!
If you travel by public transport you'll hear many of the locals speaking in Welsh
