There is so much to see and explore in this mysterious location, from an experience of diverse cultures to indulging in local cuisine, and from seeing fascinating structures to stunning city scenes.
The popular Culture Zone, renowned for its soothing environment, is one of the best places to visit while at Katowice. This is where most museums are housed, and where the city’s revitalization is most visible. So, let’s see why you need to visit Katowice.

Lodz Voivodeship is located in the center of Poland. On its territory of 18 thousand square kilometers, 2.5 million Poles live.
Capital
The administrative center of the voivodship is one of the largest cities in Poland - Lodz. The city is located very close to the capital of the country - Warsaw.
Nature
For those who like to enjoy green landscapes, there are many parks with small blue ponds in the Łódź Voivodeship. Not far from the capital there is a nature reserve where viewing beautiful places can be combined with the study of flora and fauna.
Main cities: Lodz, Piotrkow Trybunalski, Belchatow, Zgierz
Łódź is rightly called the city of cinema and fashion. Thanks to the Higher School of Cinematography, Television and Theater located there, Lodz is famous for such eminent graduates as Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Kieślowski and Roman Polanski, the latter, by the way, is widely known to Hollywood. The Alley of Stars is located on the most popular among tourists street Piotrowska. The famous American director David Lynch loves the city and even filmed his film Inland Empire in 2006 here. Lodz is famous for its textile factories, as well as for Polish Fashion Week.
The small town of Piotrkow Trybunalski is located on the Strava River. It is popular among tourists who love sightseeing holidays. There are many restaurants with traditional Polish cuisine on its territory, and in the evenings you can find night bars with discos. By the way, in the film Jacob the Liar with Robin Williams, the action takes place precisely in Piotrkow Trybunalski.
Also, the small town of Belchatow is mostly industrial. On its land is the largest power plant in Europe. You can take a walk near the river Rakovka.
The town of Zgierz is part of the Union of Polish Cities. You can learn more about the history of the city in the local museum.
What to watch?
There are remarkable buildings in Łódź with mirror shard mosaics made by renowned artist Joanna Rajkowska.
In the same place, in Łódź, you can find an entire urban area, famous for its many red brick buildings, which once housed textile factories.
On the territory of the voivodship, you can take a walk through the reserve among small ponds immersed in greenery, feed ducks and kingfishers or watch the landscapes from the unique blue karst springs.
With children, it is worth visiting the Botanical Garden, the House of Palms, a zoo or a planetarium, all of which are located near Lodz.
The longest street in Europe - Piotrowska street - is located in Lodz. You should definitely take a walk along it, because here you can find the best restaurants, bars and shops of the province. Also there is a famous monument to pianist Arthur Rubinstein, near it is the house of his birth.
The largest indoor amusement park in Europe Mandoria is located in the city of Rzgów, which will be a fun entertainment not only for the little guests, but also for their parents.
Attractions
Herbst Palace Museum used to be the home of a wealthy merchant - the founder of the Poznański weaving factory. Now it is a palace-museum with rich decoration and a vast park around.
Nieborow Palace was once home to Prince Radzejowski in the Baroque style. Subsequently, the palace changed owners more than once and acquired new features of the Rococo style.
The entertainment complex Monopolis is a trendy place among the historical walls. On the territory of the old red brick textile manufactory, you can now find hundreds of fashionable shops, a gallery with examples of modern art and a cinema.
Arkadia Park was created at the end of the 18th century and enchants with a romantic mood. On its square there is a Roman aqueduct, a circus, a Gothic house and other attractions located among the winding alleys.
The small Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is located in the administrative center of the province and attracts attention with bright colors in the facade of the building and blue domes with gilding.
Atlas Arena invites guests to sports or music events. From the outside, the building is not particularly remarkable, but inside it is modern.

Krakow is one of the most amazing European city to visit. It is the second largest and oldest cities in Poland, situated beside the Vistula River in the Lesser Poland region. There are many places to explore, you can see the most important sights and attractions in this Krakow travel vlog.
Kraków is one of central Europe’s jewels. It is like a scene from a medieval fairy tale, an historical city bursting with colour, culture and curiosity. Kraków is also the best preserved city in Poland, the old town centre having escaped the destruction that befell the rest of the country in WWII.
Kraków has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Polish academic, cultural, and artistic life and is one of Poland’s most important economic hubs. Indeed it was the capital of Poland from 1038 to 1569.
Whether you’re looking for a romantic weekend away, a fun getaway with friends, There’s something quite welcoming about Poland’s coolest city. It’s cheap, it’s beautiful and there are so many unique and incredible sights and attractions to discover. The annual list of festivals and events is as long as your arm, and every week, it seems, brings another celebration of theatre, the arts, music, film, dance, literature and, yes, food. Starachowice z drona | Starachowice z lotu ptaka
▸Starachowice są miastem, które liczy sobie blisko 400 lat. Od chwili lokacji przez kilka stuleci nosiło nazwę Wierzbnik, jednakże po wchłonięciu w XX w. osady fabrycznej Starachowice – przejęło jego nazwę.
Wierzbnik został założony w 1624 r. przez opata Bogusława Radoszewskiego z klasztoru benedyktynów na Świętym Krzyżu. Król Zygmunt III Waza nadał miastu prawo magdeburskie, targi tygodniowe i trzy jarmarki rocznie. Miasteczko rozwijało się jednak bardzo powoli, między innymi za sprawą wieloletniego konfliktu sąsiedzkiego właścicieli Wierzbnika, to jest benedyktynów, i pobliskich Starachowic, czyli cystersów. W 1827 r. liczyło zaledwie 61 domów i 450 mieszkańców.
Tymczasem sąsiednie Starachowice rozwijały się bardziej dynamicznie. Pierwsza wzmianka o sąsiedniej osadzie przemysłowej Starachowice zawarta jest w dokumentach cystersów i pochodzi z 1547 r. Wymienia się w nim istnienie Minery Starzechowskiej, czyli kopalni rudy żelaza dzierżawionej przez rodzinę Starzechowskich. W 1571 r. król Stefan Batory złożył tu zamówienie na dostawę kul armatnich dla wojsk polskich.
Osada stanowiła własność Zakonu Cystersów z Wąchocka, którzy w 1789 r. zbudowali tu hutniczy wielki piec. Wkrótce hutę przejął rząd Królestwa Polskiego. W pierwszej połowie XIX w. Starachowice stały się największym ośrodkiem przemysłu metalowego Królestwa Polskiego.
Natomiast Wierzbnik rozwijał się wciąż bardzo powoli. Czynnikiem rozwoju stało się osadnictwo żydowskie w XIX stuleciu. Jednakże mizerna wielkość miasteczka zapewne sprawiła, że 1 stycznia 1870 r. Wierzbnik utracił prawa miejskie i został przekształcony w osadę miejską.
W dwudziestoleciu międzywojennym Starachowice stały się ważnym ośrodkiem przemysłu zbrojeniowego. Wybudowano tu fabrykę sprzętu artyleryjskiego i amunicji, zwaną powszechnie Zakładami Starachowickimi. Działały liczne kopalnie rudy żelaza, skąd kolejką wąskotorową przywożono rudę do starachowickiej huty. Budowano armaty polowe oraz przeciwlotnicze, na licencji francuskiej, czeskiej i szwedzkiej. W Starachowicach i Wierzbniku powstały wówczas nowe kolonie mieszkalne i obiekty użyteczności publicznej. Zaplecze administracyjno-mieszkalno-aprowizacyjne dla fabryki znajdowało się w Wierzbniku.
1 kwietnia 1939 r. do obszaru miasta Wierzbnik włączono osiedle fabryczne Starachowice oraz wieś Starachowice. Nazwę miasta Wierzbnik zmieniono na Starachowice-Wierzbnik, a w 1949 r. ostatecznie na Starachowice. Proces ten czasami jest interpretowany jako fakt powstania nowego miasta, tymczasem miasto Wierzbnik, pomimo zmiany nazwy, zachowało ciągłość prawną.
Lata II wojny światowej zakończyły okres rozwoju miasta. Okupacyjne władze niemieckie kontynuowały produkcję zbrojeniową, zmuszając ludność polską do niewolniczej pracy w fabryce, zaś ludność żydowską zamknęły w dzielnicy żydowskiej. W X 1942 r. większość żydowskich mieszkańców miasta wywieziono do obozu w Treblince, gdzie wszystkich zgładzono.
Po wojnie nie podjęto już produkcji zbrojeniowej. W 1948 r. rozpoczęto produkcję pierwszych w Polsce samochodów ciężarowych pod marką STAR. Zakłady Starachowickie przekształcono w Fabrykę Samochodów Ciężarowych im. Feliksa Dzierżyńskiego. FSC przez lata była głównym pracodawcą w mieście, zatrudniając ponad 20 tysięcy robotników. To dzięki niej Starachowice ponownie się rozwinęły i rozbudowały.
Miasto rozwijało się również terytorialnie. W roku 1952 miasto wchłonęło wieś Wanację, wieś Starachowice Górne i wieś Krzyżową Wolę. W 1983 r. do Starachowic włączono wieś Michałów i Mieszałę.
Przemiany ustrojowe lat 90. ubiegłego wieku odcisnęły silne piętno na Starachowicach. Tak jak FSC była przyczyną sukcesu gospodarczego Starachowic, tak stała się teraz przyczyną jego problemów. Załamanie eksportu na przełomie lat 80. i 90. XX w. do krajów bloku wschodniego, spowodowało znaczne zwolnienia pracowników. W końcu lat 90. właścicielem fabryki został niemiecki koncern MAN.

Uniejów’s Attractions
At the end of the 13th century Uniejów received town privileges. There are a few valuable historic monuments like the Castle of the Archbishops of Gniezno and the collegiate church. This small city with its 3000 inhabitants has not only an interesting history but also invested a lot of energy in the development of tourism and the application hot spring water. From the year 2012 Uniejów is a state certified spa – the first one in Poland with hot springs.

Kluki open-air museum, Poland 2014 - Museum of the Slovinian Village in Kluki (Muzeum Wsi Słowińskiej, skansen w Klukach), German Klucken
Kluki (German: Klucksdorf) is a village in Bełchatów County, Łódź Voivodeship, in central Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Kluki. It lies approximately 10 kilometers (6 mi) west of Bełchatów and 51 km (32 mi) south of the regional capital Łódź.
Pomerania reminds us of the brick buildings of churches or the ubiquitous half-timbered cottages of fishermen. Its history is much more connected with the Nordic cities, with the Teutonic Knights, and with the medieval trade and political association Hansa. In the village of Kluki, visit the open-air museum of the descendants of the Slavic Słowińce tribe, which is interesting in that the houses were not imported from anywhere, but stand in their original places. The great advantage of this village is that you can combine the visit with the nearby Czołpin and Słowiński National Park with sand dunes (described in the attached article).
