TOP 10 Reasons why MOBILE, ALABAMA is the WORST city in the US!

Don’t move to Mobile. Seriously. Let us tell you why..

Mobile is a port city on Alabama’s Gulf Coast. The WWII-era USS Alabama battleship is anchored in Battleship Memorial Park. Floats, costumes and photos at the Mobile Carnival Museum illuminate the city’s centuries-old Mardi Gras tradition. The 1850 Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception features intricate German stained glass. International fine and decorative art is displayed at the Mobile Museum of Art.

Subscribe to our friends World According To Briggs and get him to 1 MILLION subs! He is awesome!!

#MOBILE #ALABAMA #ROLLTIDE I don’t know if you need to hear this, but:

These lists are not intended to be used for making life changing decisions. They are just another look at the city. I present both good and bad points of view on this channel. I don’t just make videos that are negative. There are positive videos on the channel too, check them out. They are made from statistical sources made available by government agencies as well as first hand resident experiences. If you are happy living here, I am happy for you. No need to send me death threats.

Fairhope, Alabama is a vibrant town that lies on Alabama’s Gulf Coast. Fairhope has long been known for its lovely parks and its sweeping panoramic views of Mobile Bay. Fairhope still retains much of its original small-town ambiance, but Fairhope is unique in many ways. This small town is known for its active arts community, beautiful downtown floral displays, recreational trails and events for visitors of all ages.

Fairhope was founded in November 1894 on the site of the former Alabama City as a Georgist Single-Tax colony by the Fairhope Industrial Association, a group of 28 followers of economist Henry George who had incorporated earlier that year in Des Moines, Iowa. Their corporate constitution explained their purpose in founding a new colony: to establish and conduct a model community or colony, free from all forms of private monopoly, and to secure to its members therein equality of opportunity, the full reward of individual efforts, and the benefits of co-operation in matters of general concern.

In forming their demonstration project, they pooled their funds to purchase land at Stapleton's pasture on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay and then divided it into a number of long-term leaseholds. The corporation paid all governmental taxes from rents paid by the lessees, thus simulating a single-tax. The purpose of the single-tax colony was to eliminate disincentives for productive use of land and thereby retain the value of land for the community.

In 1907 educator Marietta Johnson founded the School for Organic Education in Fairhope. The school was praised in John Dewey's influential 1915 book Schools of Tomorrow. Dewey and Johnson were founding members of the Progressive Education Association.

Fairhope became a popular wintering spot for artists and intellectuals. Sherwood Anderson, Clarence Darrow, Wharton Esherick, Carl Zigrosser, and Upton Sinclair were among its notable visitors.

Burnt Corn, Alabama (one of the oldest settlements in southwest Alabama)

Burnt Corn is one of the oldest settlements in southwest Alabama. It began early in the 1800s as a trading post settlement at an intersection of Indian trails on the “Old Wolf Path” when this area was still Creek Indian territory. In 1805, the U.S. Government got the Creek Nation to give permission for a “horse path” through the Creek Nation. This “horse path” included the “Old Wolf Trail” which ran through Burnt Corn. The “horse path” became the Old Federal Road which served as a major thoroughfare for western migration of settlers. Present-day Burnt Corn, which is located on the Old Federal Road near the original trading post site, is a small community that contains well-preserved historic buildings most of which were constructed during the early 1900s.
