The diversity of cultures has created a gastronomic symphony of flavors with a unique blend of Chinese, Indonesian and Indian influences.
Our friends, Jimmy and Tah from divert living, have put together their own video, which is awesome.
take a few moments and check their video out if you already haven't

here's our top 10 favorite foods we came across in Kuala Lumpur..

and in no particular order

#1 Roti canai is an indian influenced flat bread.. (i'm famiiar with this tasts, as it reminds me of chapatis from back home kenya.. or the indian paratha
i don't know it if was just this place, but the roti was flaky and chewy all at the same time, and so so delicious.
Restaurant Al-Ashiq

# 2 Satay.. essentially meat on a stick, lots of countries have their own take on this.. and Malaysia is no exception. This is their version of this delicious delicacy .. it can be anything from beef, chicken, goat or even tofu cooked over a wood or charcoal fire, this is usually served with a peanut and soy sauce, although each vendor may have their own special sauce.. and we found the ones we tried to be a little sweet too
Jalan Alor Night Food Court

# 3 we most certainly can not forget our banana leaf curry experience in brickfields
Restoran Sri Kortumalai

# 4 chili pan mee.. this might have gotten it's influence from china, but this is most certainly malaysian..
Tang City Food Court

# 5 the ramly burger has been sold on the streets of malaysia since 1979 It is estimated that there are over 25,000 Ramly Burger stalls nationwide, The companies aim has been developing a clean and good-quality halal Western fast-food chain in Malaysia.

San Peng Street Burger Stall
San Peng Street Burger Stall

# 6 Cendol .. is an iced sweet dessert that contains droplets of worm-like green rice flour jelly, coconut milk and palm sugar syrup
Pavilion Kual

# 7 Nasi lemak is a Malay fragrant rice dish cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaf it is the national dish of Malaysia and a must try if you visit Malaysia.. heck even if you don't.. google your nearest Malaysian restaurant and i am sure they will have this on their menu.. we had this several time on our trip,

Restaurant Al-Ashiq

# 8 start your day the tea rifik way with tea tarik...
Teh tarik (literally pulled tea) is a hot milk tea beverage
Restaurant Al-Ashiq

#9 Durian
some people love it and some people hate it.. but they say it super tasty here in maaysia, give it a try if you are in malaysia.. and if you've had the frozen kind before and don't like it .. give it another chance.. it might surprise you

Selangor Fruit Valley | Rawang | Day Trip| Places to visit near Cyberjaya | For Kids | 4K

After following maps for 50 km from KL, we had to drive another 1 km to reach the entrance of Selangor Fruit Valley. Near the gate, there is a stall selling fruits & vegetables produced from the farm. It has a spacious & free parking.

Next to ticket counter, there are restrooms. Entrance fees range from free to max 30 Ringgit depending on the age & nationality. After purchasing ticket, we were offered complimentary unlimited juice & fresh fruits while waiting for the transport.

A tractor driven tram arrived to take us for the SFV tour. The design was very innovative and attractive for kids. Each tram compartments were sanitised following SOP and also had a sanitiser bottle beside.
This farm is developed by PKPS, a subsidiary of Selangor State Government.

Passing by various fruits trees, we reached our first stop, ECO BRIDGE. A garden with green creeping plants and shrubs to give it a shady and peaceful surrounding to sit and relax.

With chicken & fish on menu Rimbun Café was open for a filling lunch. You can also grab some food and drinks since this is the only café here.

LAMAN HERBA or the herbs garden is supposed to have more than 100 species of herb.

Opposite to it is Carambola Pavilion, a complex equipped with seminar room, laboratories, and a great viewpoint of the vast tropical fruit & vegetable farm.

With the clock ticking here come our tram again to take us to the next stop.
While waiting under the pomelo tree, we realized with minimal walking this place is ideal for elderly person. The staff were also very helpful and responsive to get low step tram for them.

Getting down at TAMAN RUSA or Deer farm, we saw spotted dear & Timorensis. Kids enjoyed feeding them long beans sold by the staffs. They were mostly friendly whereas some were afraid to come close.

So, waving them a good-bye, the tram took us through mango trees, rambutan, coconut trees and dropped at the next stop called TAMAN ARNAB.

This was mainly a Rabbit farm. Spotted many rabbits left freely nibbling grass, hopping, running about, jumping, and of course burrowing!

The staffs were putting rabbits on head and hands of the kids so that parent can take out some nice pictures. There was also a small playground for kids to spend some time.

We noticed a big cage having various small colorful birds. We spotted some newborn baby rabbit, who were kept warm separately in some wooden tray with lots of shredded papers. Next, we meet a short spiny mammal hiding himself under white papers called hedgehog.

Boarding the tractor again, passing by garden of pineapple and a small pond we reached Rumah Kampung.
This is a traditional Malay house built in such a way that even on a hot sunny day, you will find the place much cooler. Everything visible here was made of wood. As we noticed a stall from the balcony selling coconut, we quickly got one to quench our thirst.

Beside this house, there was also a small section with many chickens, ducks, goats & geese enjoying in their own compounds.

After having 2 to 3 hours of rejuvenating session with nature, time has come to return home. While crossing the stingless bee farm, Dust Diary want you to like , share, subscribe & comment. See you in the next video, till then take care, stay safe and bye bye.

Penang's vibrant and diverse capital, George Town, is located on the Malaysian island of Penang. The city is noted for its British colonial structures, Chinese shophouses, and mosques, and was once an important Straits of Malacca commerce hub. George Town is a modern metropolis with skyscrapers and shopping complexes beyond the old town.

Today we visit Penang Hill, a hiking trail and funicular railway, which provides a panoramic view of the city. Then a stone's throw away we go. Thean Kong Thnuah Temple is a Chinese temple located at the foot of Penang Hill in Air Itam, Penang. Completed in 1869, it is the only temple in Malaysia built specifically for the worship of the Jade Emperor and becomes a focal point for the annual Jade Emperor's Birthday celebrations on the 9th day of Chinese New Year. From there we walked to More than two hundred years ago, the Bats' Cave Temple of Tua Peh Kong was established at the foot of Penang Hill, on Jalan Pokok Ceri. The temple is remarkable and unique since it is home to a few dozen bats who live in the cave inside the temple. Then just a quick walk to Jinggangshan Penang Hill Temple, the main component of the temple, which is a hall or pavilion with a standing Buddha image, is located next to it, on slightly higher ground. The entrance to the hall is marked by a large arch with the temple's name, Jinggangshan. As you ascend the stairwell towards the hall, you'll notice a great number of gilded pagodas, or stupas, lining the hill. Then finally we finished off the day at little India which is a vibrant neighbourhood with dozens of Indian clothes, jewellery, and street food shops and vendors.

Now the sites is empty and abandoned and gated. You can only view from the main road and take photos from the locked gate.

BATU CAVE TOUR 02 (INTERIOR TOUR)

The cave is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, and is dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is the focal point of the Tamil festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia.

Batu Caves in short also referred as 10th Caves or Hill for Lord Muruga as there are six important holy shrines in India and four more in Malaysia. The three others in Malaysia are Kallumalai Temple in Ipoh, Tanneermalai Temple in Penang and Sannasimalai Temple in Malacca.

The limestone forming Batu Caves is said to be around 400 million years old. ... Batu Caves was promoted as a place of worship by K. Thamboosamy Pillai, an Indian Tamil trader. He was inspired by the vel-shaped entrance of the main cave and was inspired to dedicate a temple to Lord Murugan within the caves.
