There are several places to get a glimpse into what life was like in Baton Rogue during the Antebellum period after the Civil War. You can go on a guided tour through the Houmas House Plantation and Gardens or Nottoway Plantation, visit Magnolia Mound, or take a trip through the Rural Life Museum.
Baton Rouge also celebrates its war heroes from both World Wars. You can see the transformed warship that now serves as the USS Kidd Museum, gaze at the LSU Memorial Tower, and more.
