Bremen, Germany: Exploring The Beautiful Hanseatic City [Travel Guide]

Have you heard of Bremen? Maybe the fairy tale of the donkey, dog cat, and rooster trying to be musicians rings a bell? In any case, Bremen is a gorgeous, historic city on the Weser River - that you have to check out!

Just a quick trip from Hamburg, Bremen is known for its historic sights: the Marktplatz, the famous Rathaus (Town Hall), Bremen Dom (Cathedral), and Böttcherstraße. We absolutely loved wandering around. There's a cool historic village area - known as Schnoorviertel - with tiny houses and alleyways in all directions. We walked the river, checked out a few museums, and even had a coffee (and cake) in the main square just taking in the city life!

Here's a travel video of the Old Town, churches, museums, the river walk, parks, and other things to do and see!

Of course, here are our articles with lots of tips for travelling to Bremen. We'll add more as we publish them:

Bremen Shopping Street Walk, Germany, Summer 2022

Hi everyone,

We made this video walking in Bremen’s city center along one of the main shopping streets which was also pedestrian-friendly because it was blocked for cars.
Bremen’s center is very walkable and has so many nice views because of the old buildings which are often decorated lavishly with sculptures and paintings.

It really is a beautiful city to visit and we hope you will enjoy this video!

4k Walking Tour of Bremen, Germany (Ultra HD, 60fps) - City Centre Tour

Welcome to Germany. In this 4k walking tour of Bremen, we are visiting the most popular tourist attractions this city has to offer.

Situated in the north-west part of Germany, Bremen is the largest city on the River Weser (which is the longest river in Germany that flows only in Germany and not any other country)

It’s mainly known as being an important maritime trade hub. The most important buildings that made Bremen city popular are the Hanseatic buildings in Market Square.

The facade of the Gothic-style town hall is from the Renaissance period, making it a real artwork. that and the large model ships in its upper hall make the town hall a beautiful landmark that you have to see.

Next to the town hall is the Roland statue. This is basically a huge stone figure symbolizing the freedom of trade. Another popular attraction in Bremen is St. Peter’s Cathedral which features medieval crypts and twin spires.

In this Bremen city tour, we will visit all the landmarks and buildings above, as well as a few other places.

I hope you'll enjoy this virtual tour of Bremen. It was recorded in 4K Ultra HD, at 60fps, for the best quality & smoothest watching experience. I hope it inspires you to visit it soon.

Walking in BREMEN'S SCENE AREA at NIGHT (4K)

I walk on a fryday night along the Scene Area in Bremen - the so called Viertel. It was early in the night and a bit cold but alot of people sits still outside and enyoing their time. Later in the night the guys with the big cars use this area for their show. Sometimes funny to see but maybe not really good for the people who live there. This is one of my last videos from Bremen in the next time. If all runs well you will see alot of new videos from Phuket, Thailand and Bangkok, Thailand. I will stay there for a while, meet some friends and make new vlogs and walking videos. Stay tuned.

Today I walk along the famous riverside boulevard called Schlachte in Bremen with many pubs and bars aligned on one side and the banks of Weser on the other. During the warm seasons this area is packed with many people. I'm starting in the city center and walk on a side street directly to the Schlachte. It's just a 5 minute walk and easy to find. At the end I do my way along the Weserpromenade and ending my walk at the St. Martini Kirche. I hope you like this little walkaround in the city center of Bremen.

More about this fairy tale ( ) and a long winter tour of Bremen can be found here on POPtravel:

This time we are in Bremen and it's late summer (September 2020).

As we continue to explore the inner city we see the Domshof and Sögestraße again on our way to the statue for the Town Musicians of Bremen.

One more sight is the Böttcherstraße that we missed on the winter walk. This short street ranks among the tourist attractions thanks to the unusual architecture.
