Sohoton Cave and Natural Bridge Park | Basey, Samar | Samar Tourist Spot
The Sohoton Caves and Natural Bridge Park is a protected natural area about 841 hectares and a tourist attraction within the Samar Island Natural Park. The natural park features caves, subterranean rivers, waterfalls, limestone formations, thick forest and a natural stone bridge. It is just a small portion of the Samar Island National Park covering the 3 provinces namely Northern Samar, Eastern Samar and Samar (formerly Western Samar). The entire area is 455,700 hectares, home of the various wildlife, rivers and cave connections. It is located at Brgy. Guirang, Basey and has an area of approximately 840-hectares.

Basey is a 1st class municipality in the province of Samar, Philippines. Its area is approximately 53,300 hectares, comprised of coastal and inland plains, hills, mountains and rivers.
The people of Basey are primarily engaged in farming and agriculture, fishing, local commerce, education and cottage industries (notably, mat-weaving more locally known as banig). Tourism is also a viable source of revenue for the town. Among its remarkable places of interest are the Sohoton Natural Bridge National Park, century-old St. Michael the Archangel Church, and the Golden River.

Saob Cave | Basey, Samar | Samar Tourist Spots
If you've visited Sohoton cave there’s also another cave in Basey, Samar named Saob cave. This cave is located in Barangay Basio, Basey, Samar. This cave has many rock formation, and it's just located along the road of Basey, Samar. Women who weave souvenir items using “tikog” also gets to make them in the cave because of the cool temperature in this nice cave.

The Sohoton Caves and Natural Bridge Park is a protected natural area about 841 hectares and a tourist attraction within the Samar Island Natural Park. The natural park features caves, subterranean rivers, waterfalls, limestone formations, thick forest and a natural stone bridge. The people in Sohoton are nice and welcoming. They served us some tea during orientation. Our guide, reminded us of the dos and don’ts before boarding the boat with our life vests.

Esmeralda Beach Resort is located at Brgy. Tinabanan, Marabut, Samar, more or less 20 kilometers from Basey.
SAMARS BEAUTIFUL HIDDEN ATTRACTION ???????? SOHOTON CAVE!
We visited one of the grandest natural attractions I've ever been to near Tacloban, the Sohoton Cave. We not only swam under the natural bridge but we also kayaked and explored the many rooms of the cave. We also brought twenty-two of the Mercado family to join us. This was one of the most incredible experiences I had in the Philippines.

My hometown is a 1st class municipality in the province of Samar, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 55,480 people. On 8 November 2013, Basey was one of the places heavily devastated by Super Typhoon Haiyan, leaving more than 200 people dead. Basey is famous for its beautiful Sohoton Caves, whose inner chamber features stalactites, stalagmites, and an underground river. The town is also known for artistically woven decorative mats called Banig.

BALANTAK FALLS & ASGAD RIVER OF BASEY
Balantak Falls and Asgad River are just a walking distance between each other. The falls is a hidden paradise waterfalls in Barangay Rawis, Basey, Samar. It has 3 waterfalls. Unfortunately, the falls was closed for maintenance purposes when we went there. This tourist spot of Basey is near the known Sohoton Cave.

Experience a rustic rural life characterized by simple homes and lots of verdant scenery in the southwestern part of Samar. It is not cosmopolitan, but in every respect, it has all the scenic and cultural variety you would expect from a town. That is Basey, a first-class municipality with a population of 56,685 people based on 2020 Census. Basey is a coastal town about 28 kilometers away from Tacloban City which could be reached by a 45-minute land trip passing through the picturesque San Juanico bridge. It is bounded by the town of Sta. Rita and Villareal in the north, Borongan and Marabut in the east, Tacloban City in the west and San Pedro Bay in the south.
