AtiadJT's Adventures is a series that I made in this channel to highlight Philippine destinations that are not yet widely known. This is different from my travel channel, Trip ni TJ ( because the videos that I will be uploading in this series has narration.

DISCOVER TUFOB LAKE OF BARLIG, MOUNTAIN PROVINCE | TREK AND TRAVEL 2022

IGOROTAS ARE ON BOARD!
TUFOB LAKE can be reached about 25 minutes away from Bontoc, Mountain Province. A short trek from road level to the mountain plateau brings you to the majestic mountain lake of Barlig.

LAKE TUFOB | Chatol, Barlig, Mt. Province | Talubin - Barlig - Paracelis Road | Honda Beat Long Ride

Lake Tufob is located in Chatol, Brgy. Lingoy. This is easy to reach if you ask locals or a guide to show you the trail from the road. The trail is not properly paved and can be very slippery. If you know how to climb such uneasy path the distance from the road to the lake will only take you 5 - 10 minutes.

This lake offers you a thick surrounding mossy forest and an amplifying feel of the wind against the wild trees. It is a perfect place of peace and touch to nature. This lake is a myth believed to be a crater of some volcano as hot springs are scattered widely in the village.

Year by year, season to season, the water has dropped to almost gone. This gave death to the fishes that used to thrive in there long time ago.

Mount Amuyao (Barlig - Barlig)

Mount Amuyao (Barlig - Barlig) 2019

Mt. Amuyao is one of the highest mountains in the Philippines.
It is located in Northern Luzon, Mountain Province.

In this video, I'm gonna share with you my journey, hiking this monster as a beginner mountaineer.

We took the trail at Sitio Macalana, Barlig and stayed overnight on Summit of Mt Amuyao.

I had fun with fellow mountaineers (veterans and beginners) and heard inspiring stories about why of all the hardships and pain, they still want to climb every mountain known to man.

This is our very first hiking vlog and definitely won't be the last.

Lake Tufob, Barlig, Mountain Province

This long and winding road towards the eastern part of Mountain Province led me to the municipality of Barlig.

Home of the virgin forests, undiscovered waterfalls, and sweet sweet mandarin (I'm thinking there's more, but this is what I know so far).

The determined traveler must not be dismayed by this unpopular place but rather be excited because hidden gems are found in this least populated municipality of the province... vast as it may seem.

Comment below any suggestions and things I need to improve, I'll greatly appreciate.

Remember, there is always hope.

Thanks for watching. Like and Subscribe po. It means a lot.

The virgin forest of the north | Kadaclan, Barlig Mountain Province #Nature #Forest

There are also places here in Kadaclan where you can really enjoy having picnic with friends where you can experience the refreshment of the cold water from the rivers like in Munyupuyop, Amfitayok, Finarungrungan, Sukib, Fiagkeng etc. You can also visit the Lettang burial cave if you prefer trekking and adventures.

Aside from Kadaclan, probably the most famous destination in this town for adventure climbers is Mt. Amuyao, the highest point of Mountain Province towering at 8,863 feet (2,702 meters), the ninth highest mountain in the country (the third highest in Luzon). Here, after a six-hour trek, one could see breathtaking views of neighboring provinces of Isabela and Ifugao.

The lush forested mountains of the town are a habitat for endemic species of hardwood trees unlike the common pine tree forests in the region. The town also plays as natural habitat for endangered fauna such as the Philippine eagle, warty pigs and wild deer. Endemic plants and trees also abound and thrive in the area.

The town also has majestic waterfalls such as the Karanag and Pallad Falls in Lias barangay, which provide a serene area to meditate and a worthwhile picnic area for its residents and tourists.

Mt. Amuyao is the country’s 10th highest mountain and an important physical and cultural landmark in Mountain Province. Together with a traverse of Mt. Ugo and Mt. Napulauan, a traverse of Mt. Amuyao is one of the great hiking trails of the Cordilleras. Of the three, it is considered the most challenging, taking the hike from the mountainous town of Barlig, Mountain Province to the summit of Amuyao, then off to a lengthy but well-maintained trail to the scenic villages of Pat-yay and Cambulo and finally to Batad, home of the amphitheatre-like rice terraces that is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The entire trip takes 3-4 days – a real challenge.
