This is the drive from Lake Heviz to Zagreb. Our day started pretty earlier in the morning where we left from Budapest and made our way up to Lake Balaton in the town of Siofok.

after spending a few hours here, we were on our way to Lake Heviz to enjoy the World's largest thermal lake in the world.
once this was done, we headed to our next destination on our list which is Croatia!! This happens to be one of the longest driving for me during this month long trip. As we approached the Croatian border, we had to line up and show our passports. The event was a little funny. By this point, i've been driving quiet a bit and i'm exhausted. The custom officer asked to see my Vehicle registration but it took more than a minute for me to realize what she was asking for. Gave her the papers and she came back within 5 minutes and we finally entered Croatia.. i'm thankful for her because she was extremely sweet and did not get upset at an idiot like me. The drive from here at first was amazing but then you get used to it pretty quick. Don't forget that there are lots and lots of tolls in Croatia.

Pecs Cathedral - part 1. Pecs, Hungary - 4K/Ultra HD
The Sts. Peter and Paul's Cathedral Basilica (Hungarian: Szent Péter és Szent Pál székesegyház), also called Pécs Cathedral, is a religious building of the Catholic church that serves as the cathedral of the Diocese of Pécs, and is located in the city of Pécs, Hungary.
The foundations of the cathedral of Pécs are from the Roman period, around the fourth century. It is believed that at the site of the cathedral today an early Christian basilica, which spread westwards between the eighth and ninth centuries. Under the reign of Stephen I, the decision to modify the construction and, presumably, the two western towers date from this period was taken. After a great fire of 1064 was carried out construction of the Romanesque basilica, with the participation of Italian architects. In the Middle Ages, the church was enlarged with two lateral towers and Gothic chapels. After the damage and degradation caused by the Turkish occupation (1543-1686) there were attempts to restore the building. The neo-Romanesque appearance today is the result of the reconstruction carried out between 1882 and 1891, faithfully fulfilled the original plans of the cathedral architect Friedrich von Schmidt Viennese. The length of the church is 70 meters, with a width of 22 meters and height in the towers of up to 60 meters.
Driving Hungary: Route 1 Komarno/Komarom - Györ - 4k scenic drive Danube Valley
We are now in The Danube Valley and drive on the hungarian national road 1, from the border town of Komarno/Komarom to the main city of Györ. We are very close to the river and discover a nice region, with many forrests. Our destination, Györ, is is the most important city of northwest Hungary, the capital of Győr-Moson-Sopron County and Western Transdanubia region, and situated halfway between Budapest and Vienna. 20.August.2020, Day 8 - Our way home to Arad, Romania from Zagreb, Croatia trough Hungary with our Transalp 650 and BMW 1200GS
The awakening was at 7:00 AM. We left Zagreb quite late, around 10:00 AM. We stopped for breakfast, had coffee, etc. The exit from Zagreb was quite crowded. Around 13:00 PM we arrive at Barcs Customs (where we left Hungary at 13.August) and were we are very surprised when after passing the Croatian customs officer, we arrive at the Hungarian Customs, there being no cars in a row and he tells us relaxed that here you don't enter Hungary to be able to transit to Romania ... And that we can only enter at Leteneye or Mohacs. I quickly searched the alternative route on google maps for the Letenye variant, and I see that it gives us almost 11 hours... Pfff. Then I studied the map a bit more and saw that in fact it is closer to Mohacs and we don't go around so much. So that we go on the Croatian side, not through Hungary. I reconfigure the route and went to Udvari Customs (Mohacs). In about 2 hours we was beyond customs, about 15 cars in a row, great heat. After about 15-20 minutes we reach the line, enter Hungary without problems and continue our way home, still having almost 300km to do. After passing Baja, in Csavoly Commune we stop to eat at Texas Restaurant. This is the only one of many others on the side of the road. There was something festive about them, everything was closed. We ate a very good and honest BobGulas and we continued our way home through Szeged, and from here we went to enter the Turnu Customs in Arad. Being lighter, without congestion. Just when the sun goes down, around 21:00 we arrive in Arad. 650 kilometers for this day. And a total of 2250 km in the 8 days.
