The Chennakesava Temple, also referred to as Keshava Temple, is a Vaishnava Hindu temple on the banks of River Kaveri at Somanathapura, Karnataka, India.

The ornate temple is a model illustration of the Hoysala architecture. The temple is enclosed in a courtyard with a pillared corridor of small shrines (damaged). The main temple in the center is on a high star-shaped platform with three symmetrical sanctums. The western sanctum was for a statue of Kesava, the northern sanctum of Janardhana and the southern sanctum of Venugopala, all forms of Vishnu. The sanctums share a common community hall (sabha-mandapa) with many pillars. The outer walls, the inner walls, the pillars and the ceiling of the temple are intricately carved with theological iconography of Hinduism and display extensive friezes of Hindu texts such as the Ramayana (southern section), the Mahabharata (northern section) and the Bhagavata Purana (western section of the main temple).

Tasting Karnataka’s Famous BANNUR MUTTON In Bannur | Bandur Sheep | Lunch At BANNUR MILITARY HOTEL

#bannurmutton #biryani #karnataka

bannur mutton explained, bandur sheep, bandur village, malavalli, mandya, bannur, mysore, mutton biryani, mutton fry, mutton kheema, bannur military hotel, ramaswamy hotel, mutton meal

The Bannur mutton, Karnataka’s most prized mutton, isn’t actually from Bannur. It is the meat of an indigenous variety of sheep that hails from Bandur, a village located between Malavalli and Bannur near Mysuru. Prized for its juicy tender meat, the sheep was traditionally sold in village shanties in Bannur, ergo the acquired moniker, Bannur. I drove to Bannur to learn more about this sheep and also catch a mutton meal at a family eatery, Bannur Ramaswami Military Hotel, that showcases this very special meat in its homestyle preparations. Hope you enjoy this episode, stay safe and happy eating!

Nati Koli Kurma
The chicken has a bit of a chew, a character of the free range chicken, there’s a bit of skin too that adds to the flavourful character of the homestyle curry, which is the sort that goes well with the ragi mudde.
Rs. 110 (usd 1.5)
8/10

Kaima Sambar
Dumplings of rough-ground mutton simmered in a curry, the meat has a springy bite to it. There is also some dil that lends its aroma to the meat balls.
Rs. 100 (usd 1.4)
8.5/10

Mutton Fry
The fat of the Bannur mutton is ribonned through the meat that is deep in its slightly salty, savoury flavours. The curry isn't too spicy, and is quite happy playing second fiddle to the flavour of the meat.
Rs. 150 (usd 2.1)
8.5/10

Bannur Mutton Biryani
You can nose the kasoori methi (dried fenugreek) in the aroma of the biryani, there’s the warming heat of the red chillies and spices that you can taste on the palate, a touch of tang from the tomatoes… the kolam rice is tasty all in itself, also having absorbed the character of the meat. The meat is soft and moist, deep pink in its colour and veined with fat. This is a biryani you should eat hot, do not allow it to cool down for the fat tends to congeal.
Rs. 160 (usd 2.2)
9/10

The temple was consecrated in 1258 CE by Somanatha Dandanayaka, a general of the Hoysala King Narasimha III. It is located 38 kilometres (24 mi) east of Mysuru city.

The Chennakesava temple, states George Michell, represents the climax of the development in Hoysala temple style and yet is also unique in many ways.

Somanathapura Panchalingeshwara Temple ಸೋಮನಾಥಪುರ ಪಂಚಲಿಂಗೇಶ್ವರ ಗುಡಿ Mysore Karnataka Tourism

Somanathapura Panchalingeshwara Temple ಸೋಮನಾಥಪುರ ಪಂಚಲಿಂಗೇಶ್ವರ ಗುಡಿ Mysore Karnataka Tourism.Somanathapura Panchalingeshwara Temple of Karnataka T Narsipura Mysore Tourism Karnataka tourism, India.
Mysore has Hoysala ancient Temple Panchalingeshwara Somanathapura also called as Panchalinga or Pancha Lingeshwara temple. This ancient temple is near the famous Tourist city of Mysore. The ancient Hoysala temple was in a state of ruins and recently restoration work of panchalingeshwara temple has been completed but there are no Lingas on the peeta. The Panchalingeshwara temple was completed around 1265 A.D. It is located just about 500 metres from the famous Chennakeshava temple which is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India.
Though there are scores of temples of the Hoysala period in the old Mysuru region, there are only two Panchalingeshwara temples with five shrines aligned in a straight line, which makes it a unique example of architecture. The other one is at Govindanahalli in Mandya district and is well-maintained. However, the latter was originally a trikoota — having three shrines to which two additional shrines were added on — while the one at Somanathapura had five shrines since its inception,The panchalingeshwara temple at somanatapura temple had many missing portions. The other distinct feature of the temple is that the walls and the shikara or the tower are made of granite and not soapstone. Karnataka tourism has scope to develop such beautiful temples and make it a interesting tourist location.
The Panchalingeshwara temple is located tight opposite the famous Chennakesava Temple also known as Somanathapura temple, also referred to as Keshava Temple or Kesava Temple is the famous temple at Somanathapura. these temples were built by Somanatha , a general of the Hoysala King Narasimha III. In addition to the Kesava temple, Somanatha, consecrated a Shaivism tradition related Panchalinga temple (literally, five linga temple) in the east-northeast corner of the land grant. He also built a fort wall around the land, but these are now in ruins . One of the gopura had collapsed and there were signs of excavation done by people in search of treasure ,resulting in mass destruction of the temple.
Those visiting ancient stone carved temples such as Chennakesava Temple, Somanathapura on state highway 79 (T. Narasipura -Srirangapatna Road) make it a point to explore the Panchalingeshwara temple which lies a stone throw away just opposite the road in between the green fields. Both the stone carved temple along with the ruins of Lakshminarasimha temple are a treat to those who enjoy Hoysala architecture.

The Bannur Sheep is a breed of highly-valued Indian sheep that was found in India’s Karnataka. They are popular for their excellent quality of meat and are primarily reared for the same purpose.
The Bannur is a very old breed that got its names ‘Bannur Sheep’ and ‘Bandur Sheep’ from the Bannur town in the Mysore district, and from the village called ‘Bandur’, located in the south Indian state of Karnataka, respectively. Bannur sheep farming is easy, and these sheep are purely reared so as to retain the quality of meat. Though, the breed characteristics and weight gain rate are not better than other sheep breeds, but because of the superior taste and quality of its meat, this breed has huge demand in the meat market.
This breed is popular for its meat production ability, and the quality of meat too is juicy and tender, which makes the taste excellent. The dressing percentage (live weight basis at 1 year of age) in the bannur sheep is about 48%. The live weight at birth is 2 kg, while by the time of weaning, they reach the weight of almost 10. By 6 months of age they are 13, and within a year, they are almost 22 kilos.

#Kesava Temple #Somanathapura #temple #absananthbhatupponi #Mysore

This video is all about travel to Kesava Temple Somanathapura during December 2020 after Corona Lockdown.

Somanathapura temple also known as Chennakesava temple at Somanathpura (also spelled Kesava temple, Somnathpur).Mysore tourism, Karnataka tourism, Karnataka temple.
This Hindu temple is located on the banks of River Kaveri at Somanathapura, Karnataka, India. The temple was consecrated in 1258 CE by Somanatha Dandanayaka, a general of the Hoysala King Narasimha III. It is located 38 kilometers from Mysuru city.
The temple is a model illustration of the Hoysala architecture. The main temple in the center is on a high star-shaped platform. The western sanctum was for a statue of Kesava, the northern sanctum of Janardhana and the southern sanctum of Venugopala, all forms of Vishnu. The outer walls, the inner walls, the pillars and the ceiling of the temple are intricately carved. The ancient stone carved temple of typical Hoysala design , the start shaped base of the temple is well preserved .

Miracle Ganapathi in Gargeshwari:

Gargeshwari is a place which is 28 K.M from Mysore dist. very close to T.Narasipura TQ. From Mysore one can find many buses to Gargeshwari which will take 1 hour to reach from Mysore and one can go by their own vehicle also. Road is in moderate condition.

In Gargeshwari one can find Shiva parvathi temple where one can see Lord Shiva as part of Goddess Parvathi here. One of the miracles which happens in this place which is like a challenge to the whole scientific world. You will find yantra Ganapathi Idol which will give you indication as to your prayer will happen or not. First time you need to pray in your mind and pay a token of Rs.25 to the poojari who will be sitting next to the idol and lift the idol of Lord Ganesha if it comes easily for you it is believed that your work will happen. if the lifting of idol is not so easy then your work will happen but with delay. If the Idol cannot be lifted by you then your work will not happen. One cannot apply any strength to lift the idol as it will not come up.
next time you need to lift Lord ganesh idol again and if the prayer what you had in your mind happens then the idol won’t come-up even if you put hardest of your effort. Is this not a miracle and challenge to the whole scientific world? The idol which you are able to lift easily in first instance but cannot even shake in second instance if your prayer will happen for sure?????

There are instances where the idol will come easily for both the times that indicate your prayer will happen but it will take time.
Some cases it will not come both the times that means prayer in your mind will not happen.

Feel free to visit this place of Miracle.
